If that is why you are looking at those pictures YES.

What did Jesus say in the sermon on the mount about adultery.
He said 'if you look at a woman with lust in your thoughts you have committed adultery.'

If you want to be silly enough to ask that question, you should be silly enough to accept the answer that it really should be pictures of men you use.... or maybe even sheep.

lol. But yikes, it is an honest Q?

imo if you burn for women you should get married, but there is no indication that masturbation is a sin in Scripture, and the part about why it is bad to objectify women you will eventually learn anyway. Are you hurting anyone? other than yourself, i mean? then do whatever you do from conviction, and trust that there will always be someone around dying to judge you, no matter what

I just saw how young you are on your profile and hesitated in responding to this post. bbyrd009 gave you good advice when he pointed out the harm comes later in life in objectifying women. Although maybe harmless now this can become a beast that influences your decisions and responses to love and relationship in the future. It can impact your life, your marriage, your children, and your walk with God. I say this in knowing someone who struggles with it and how hard it can become to get free from it later in life. With Facebook and the internet, and television and even out in public...images of nearly undressed women are everywhere. My advice is to find a man you trust and can confide in, a godly man and counsel, instead of condemning you as abnormal, someone who will help you deal with your emotions and feelings and hormones. Someone that you can be completely open and honest with. If you do not know anyone like this, that you trust, pray God helps guide you to truth and doesn't allow this to become a snare. Never be ashamed for asking questions.

Your response was very wise...all of it..but I just picked a small snippet where you hit the nail right on the head.

Rather than being a "silly question" as one person said....I am very glad Brock was brave enough to ask it. As you say...he is a young teenager.

My above quote of your post is where when we counselled young men we found the problem lay.
It can become an all consuming addictive habit...which is what the Accuser of The Brethren wants...an addictive habit carried guilt and condemnation with it...and the Enemy then hold us in bondage to the low self esteem that any addiction carried with it.

Plus , as you already mentioned, after marriage, once the love bloom has lessened someone, the Enemy will have the man pleasuring himself because 'he knows' how to satisfy himself best.. It has happened that some prefer sex with themselves rather than coming together with their wives.

( which in fact is just the same as male with male or female with female..it is actually "same-sex"... food for thought there!! )

I would first say this. Every man alive and who has ever lived, has wrestled with this. Understand you are no different than any other man on this earth. The desire to view nude women is very natural, but has been degraded due to the fall of Adam. Lust and desire are now difficult to distinguish.

If God had not created us with that sexual desire then the human race would not pro-create. So, there is nothing wrong in the desire. But as with many other things, we don't want any thing to have a control over us. With today's internet that can certainly take place.

I would guard against two answers here. First, to make it appear that it is ok to view naked women and masturbate to them, giving you free reign to go ahead. Second, to make it appear that something is wrong with you in desiring and doing this.

The simple answer to your questions is yes, it is a sin. Because it is lust. And every man alive is guilty of it. So because it is always there, the less you feed it, the less pictures you view, the less control it will have over you. And as a Christian that should be what our goal is. If you feed it constantly, turn yourself over to it, the perverseness will set in. Satisfaction will be harder to obtain. It will have you instead of you having it.

As a Christian young man at your age, use this as a training ground for discipline. Practice keeping your eyes away from these pictures. Practice control over the desires. Understand it is a sin, but understand all men are in the same boat.

Very wisely said. ( I didn't know that you had so much wisdom :) )

But it seems to me that the young man has already made up his own mind.

Bless you...H

Does a lot of what we do glorify God? I make music that has nothing to do with God does that glorify him? No, but is it a sin? No, it is not.

Our everyday lives are supposed to reflect Christ in us and yes we don't always do this. However, it does help us to gauge how mature we have become since we first accepted Christ into our lives as Lord and Savior. It is indeed a process with the aide and guidance of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Determining whether something is sin in our personal lives or not depends on our conviction through the Holy Spirit. If you are asking the question then I'm sure the thought of whether it is acceptable before Christ or not has crossed your mind. Here again is a verse that may or may not help you.

1 Corinthians 6
18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Blessings!

No I'm not hurting anyone.

You can tell yourself that brother...but you are!
Any habit hurts someone...YOU!!

I am sure the drug addict in the flop house, told himself when he was a respectful accountant, lawyer, business man or whatever...the first time he shot-up he said..." Im not hurting anyone."

The overworked business man, the ball player, the teacher..or whatever told himself the first time he took a third drink to relax..." I'm not hurting anyone "
Then they end up outside their family, community, business etc...and find they have indeed hurt someone...most of all them self.

I had a friend who's boyfriend told her that he was addicted to masturbating.
He couldn't stop himself...at work , by late afternoon , he said he could wait to get home...he'd think about it all the time. ( not about her), but about getting home and masturbating. He couldn't do or think of anything else until he had done that.
It may be an extreme case...but..true..
Just saying...be careful, ...many, many as Stranger said in his post...every red blooded male faces the same thing...you are not alone.

Bless you...H

It is an empty, unfulfilling, and lonely existence. Like all illusion, it is the desire that tricks you into believing you are going to be happier for it.

You are better than this

If you need to ask that, I think you probably should know the answer to that. People think it's a joke, but it really is a dangerous sin lust, and there's no excuse... If you are having a problem with it, you should look to the Lord Jesus, ask him to forgive you, and ask Jesus to set you free from that sin, he can help you, and get into the word of God, get into spending time with Jesus. And you can pop in a prayer request if you want, but I will be praying for you anyway.
