Welcome friend. I pray that you will receive encouragement, and enlightenment in the word of God and that others be lifted by your Christian testimony.

I just welcomed you on your other post.
I see you are in Canada. Me too... I'm in Alberta. ( still white and under snow)

If this is really your first Christian forum Site. I warn you, it may be a baptism of fire. It is not all "sweetness and light" haha!
Just get a tough skin quickly, you may need it. :)
Some people delight in 'putting people right'. The flip side of that is, you will find a few kind, polite and caring people here too. :D

God bless...Helen

Hi Helen, thank you for your welcome. Ontario still snowy too. It teased spring for a second two weeks ago, though.

I appreciate your heads up! Lol. I think that in mentioning that I'm new to online Christian community I hoped to ask people for gentleness. Both in regards to any inadvertent lack of etiquette that I may present and also to show mercy in 'putting me right' but you've helped me to see that its up to me to grow a thick skin. I can make all the requests I want, but at the end of the day, the way I receive people is my responsibility. Glad to hear theres a few polite and caring folks too. :) I hope that I will be able to be one too.

Haha! Yes , you've got it my friend.
Some will show mo mercy.. :D So don't count on it. Some can be quite harsh and rude. But in time you will identify them and just ignore them.
It can be fun if you let it...but some are here to just wear us down I am sure. The word " Christian"..hold lightly , because sometime you will probably wonder. Ha!
But, on the whole it is a very good Site...I'm been playing this Forum 'game' on so many different ones over the last 15yrs. Some good, some far from it...but if you give it time...this can fall under the "good." :)
....H

@kit ...Hello and welcome :).... I sincerely hope you may find what you hope to here...some are a bit cruel , but as someone else said, you will find out and then it's just best to leave them be ( like sleeping dogs hahaha)....There is a small group here, who have a super heart for the Lord....I am sure you will find that for yourself also.

Hello, thanks for welcoming me! While I have seen some discussions happening on here about tone and attitude, so far my only issue is that theres so much content with so many perspectives that I honestly don't even know where to jump in! Or what I could possibly add. Which isnt such a bad thing at all; lots of food for thought.

Welcome to the forum Kit

Thanks! Glad to be here!

@kit It would be lovely to hear how you came to Jesus...

Sure. I was raised in a Christian home with an active church life. I enjoyed learning the Bible. Despite this there were a few years when I simply didnt practice faith; never doubted just somehow kinda ignored God, so to speak. In my late teens God started calling me back and I was happy to receive the invitation. Jesus was very present and it filled me with joy. One Sunday morning I was woken up by church bells ringing. I got up and went to the nearest church and it just so happened to be a tradition I was familiar with. I delved into study, fellowship and service. After a period I was Baptized in a lake that had only just thawed from the winter as I just couldnt wait - it was freezing and so windy to boot! And the Spirit started really moving in my life. Even though Id accepted Salvation as a child, I would say this is when a deeper conversion took place if that makes any sense?
