I can assure you that you can lose Your salvation. To me The Bible is Clear on this topic. I would say that a lot of christians have to swallow some biggies to say that OSAS is true. I will Write to you a great deal of bibleverses, that to me make it Clear that we can certainly say that we can lose Our salvation. (Some of the bibleverses has probably been quoted before, so I am sorry if I quote some bibleverses that has been mentioned before).
First of all I want you to read the bibleverses i quote to you as the Truth of the Bible. We have to stop reading what we are believing and start believing what we are reading. More often then not we read the Bible, but only Accept the parts of it that we agree With. We underline bibleverses in Our Bibles that compell to Our doctrine and often also feelings (I'm not saying it is wrong to that), however, the bibleverses that seem harsh or difficult we overlook and that is very Dangerous. But if you start Reading the Bible as if it is THE truth, and believing what you are Reading in spite of you not always understaing it, or that it seems uncompelling and difficult. So I want you to have that in mind when you read the following bibleverses so that you will be honest With yourself, and say that if this is the truth Lord may I rely on it as a truth.
I would also recommand that you pray a prayer before you read further. That you pray to Jesus that He would show you the truth in everything, and pray that The Holy Spirit will guide you to the truth (John 16,13). And to pray that you would take the truth as true in spite of everyone else and all you've heard. I hope it will bring more understading and that The Holy Spirit will help you to se all truth.
I will also add that if you truly fear the Lord you will say to Him: "Lord, I will read Your Word and I will trust that it is the truth, no matter what. No matter if it si difficult, if it Challenges me, if it makes me feal bad. I will trust that Your Word id truth. I WILL BELIEVE WHAT I READ." If you say this and act on it I truly think God will make you understand the Scriptures. Why do I say that? Because Proverbs 9,10 says: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
When you start to fear the Lord will give you wisdom, knowledge and understanding. And because you fear Him, He will help you to understand His Word.
Here is the bibleverses (With some commentary):
Matthew 7:21-23
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!"
I want you to recognize that Jesus says many, not some, but many. In what day? That day is reffering to the day of judgement. In what name did they prophecy, cast out demons and doing many Wonders? In His name, in Jesus' name. And you cannot cast out a demon without actually being saved and believing in Christ. How do I know that? In acts 19,11-20:
11 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. 13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” 14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.
15 And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. 18 And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. 19 Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.
They couldn't drive out the demons even though they tried to do it in the name of Jesus (verse 13). So no unbeliever can drive out a demon. But Jesus said in Matthew 7 that they drived out demons in His name. It is important to understand that they did drive the demons out. What does that mean? They were saved. They were followers of Christ, but they fell away from faith and on the day of judgement Jesus says He didn't know them (intimatly).
Jesus also said that He never knew them. What does that mean? 1. Corinthians 8,3 says:
3 But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.
So to be known by Jesus is to love God. And love requires an intimate relationship. So that means that Jesus needs us to have an intimate relationship With Him. But love also includes to obey. Because to love God is to follow His commandments (2. John 1,6).
The amplified Version (a Version that is more Rich because it takes the meaning of the original-Language, which in this case is greek) puts it like this:
3 But if anyone loves God [with awe-filled reverence, obedience and gratitude], he is known by Him [as His very own and is greatly loved].
Ezekiel 18:24
24 “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.
It is Clear here that you can fall away from being reighteous to being wicked. What is the consequence? To die. By dieing Ezekiel means that when you become wicked God will not remember Your righteousness. That will make you die on the inside.
