how would you suggest i do that

My best guess is any person what wanted to change religions would attend some services at that place of worship and see if God spoke to them through the service or preacher etc...
Jesus says " My sheep hear My voice and a stranger they will not follow. So..anywhere we go if we cannot hear His voice...move on until you can.

Why not become a disciple of Christ and forgo the man-made religious institutions? Follow Christ...

Blessed is he that trusts in the Lord,
Cursed is he that trusts in men.

PS: Always watch out for the men in pointy hats...

JW to RC - Out of the frying pan into the fire.
I'm not part of any denomination or movement or stream. I fellowship continually with like-minded followers of Christ and share hosting privileges of our simple, informal, spontaneous, in-home ekklesia where we edify and exhort one another in love.

I agree with @"ByGrace" post no. 3...attend Mass a few times.
Also, you have to find out the doctrine of the Catholic Church and make sure you could live with it because you'll be told that you have to accept their doctrine.

I do believe that you should belong to a church; especially at your age. It's good to be with other Christians and not to be alone. A coal set far away from the fire turns cold. It's nice to be in a group of like-minded persons and fellowship with them.

Every church has its own doctrine....what they believe to be true about God and how to be a Christian.

The Catholic Church believes in:
1. Heaven
Purgatory
Hell

2. Two types of sin: Mortal and Venial
Venial sins (lesser sins) are confessed to God.
Mortal sins must be confessed to a priest.

3. Original Sin is imputed to all --- the reason why babies are baptized; it removes original sin.

4. The church does not believe in eternal security (OSAS).

5. It believes that one is saved by Jesus' sacrifice.

6. Transubstantiation: The host is literally the body and blood of Jesus.

If you're serious, you'll find that you'll have to attend an RICA* class for about a year and then make your first Holy Communion and also confirmation...also baptism if you haven't already been baptized by a Protestant church.

*Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

There's a lot more but it's too much to get into.
They believe in the Communion of Saints...
That Mary is the Mother of the church...and more....

Catechism of the Catholic Church

Thats a lot to digest by yourself. Again , i suggest you contact your local parish.

They will have a program for catachumens to aid you and answer your questions.

Peace!
Yeah!
I used to use the CCC and thought it was very unclear many times...
But the first 100 or so paragraphs are really great and should be read by everyone.

how do i contact them what if there are none near me?

Is there a college in your city? If so, you might want to check out a Newman Center - it is a Catholic Church that ministers to kids your age. I became Catholic after connecting with a Newman Canter - they are friendly and good at answering questions

That is a good question.

I would say JW theology is quite different. I tend to think that C&P are more hopeful
