Clarence Larkin, Dispensationalism's "Yoda" wrote the major treatise on Dispensationalism. Still widely used today. He reveals the Catholic origins of the doctrine thinking it a good thing. Following is an excerpt from his book Dispensational Truth.

“The “Futurist School” interprets the language of the Apocalypse “literally,” except such symbols as are named as such, and holds that the whole of the Book, from the end of the third chapter, is yet “future” and unfulfilled, and that the greater part of the Book, from the beginning of chapter six to the end of chapter nineteen, describes what shall come to pass during the last week of “Daniel's Seventy Weeks.” This view, while it dates in modern times only from the close of the Sixteenth Century, is really the most ancient of the three. It was held in many of its prominent features by the primitive Fathers of the Church, and is one of the early interpretations of scripture truth that sunk into oblivion with the growth of Papacy, and that has been restored to the Church in these last times. In its present form it may be said to have originated at the end of the Sixteenth Century, with the Jesuit Ribera, who, actuated by the same motive as the Jesuit Alcazar, sought to rid the Papacy of the stigma of being called the “Antichrist,” and so referred the prophecies of the Apocalypse to the distant future. This view was accepted by the Roman Catholic Church and was for a long time confined to it, but, strange to say, it has wonderfully revived since the beginning of the Nineteenth Century, and that among Protestants. It is the most largely accepted of the three views. It has been charged with ignoring the Papal and Mohammedan systems, but this is far from the truth, for it looks upon them as fore shadowed in the scriptures, and sees in them the “Type” of those great “Anti-Types” yet future, the “Beast” and the “False Prophet.” The “Futurist” interpretation of scripture is the one employed in this book.” Dispensational Truth; pg. 5 Clarence Larkin

Christians can certainly study the writings of others, such as Larkin (whom you have denigrated by calling him "Yoda"). But that is not their ultimate authority. When Scriptures are interpreted correctly (as Larkin has generally done), they must be commended. However, at the end of the day Scripture must interpret Scripture.

There are a vast number of Scripture prophecies which have not been fulfilled as yet. Which means they will be fulfilled in the future. Which means that a great deal of the Bible itself is Futurist. And the key to everything which will happen in the future is THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST.

Insulting and belittling men of God (and large numbers of Christians) who actually studied the Scriptures and presented the truth shows (a) ignorance, (b) prejudice, and (c) a closed mind. So why don't you simply study the Word of God carefully (as these men have done) instead of regurgitating nonsense over and over again?

Just sayin' Larkin should know the Jesuit source of Dispensationalism better than many.

Francisco Ribera was a Jesuit who refused to be conned and was willing to take Scripture prophecies for what they were.

Another Jesuit who refused to go along with the false Catholic ideas was Manuel Lacunza, who used the pseudonym Juan Josafat Ben-Ezra to publish a book titled THE COMING OF MESSIAH IN GLORY AND MAJESTY. He had a generally biblical understanding of the second coming of Christ. But all these writings must be examined in the light of Scripture.

Well, I see Dave L jumped ship from another thread and tried posting this nonsense on a new one. David L, actually try reading the content this time instead of just restating your false claim.

The chart alone blows in your claims out of the water.

Not reading literally means all you're doing is posting your inventions with zero proof.
No, it means you are adding to Revelation.

What do you mean "Really?" It does not matter who expresses their views in writing, or from which side of the spectrum. All Christian writings must be carefully assessed. Some early Christian writers had futurist views.

For in the last days, the false prophets and the corruptors will be multiplied, and the sheep will be turned into wolves, and love will be turned into hate. For when the lawlessness increases, they will hate one another, and they will persecute and deliver up, and then the deceiver of creation will appear as God's son, and he will do signs and wonders. And the land will be given up into his hands. And he will do lawless things which have never been done from the age.

Then human creation will come into the fire of examination, and many will stumble and be destroyed. But those who endure in their trust will be saved from this accursed thing. And then the signs of truth will appear. First, the sign of an opening in Heaven, then the sign of a trumpet's sound, and thirdly, a resurrection of dead people. But not of all people; on the contrary, as it was declared, "The Lord will come, and all the holy ones with him." Then creation will see the Lord "coming on the clouds of the sky."

Where did Jesus ever mention a millennium? Or a physical kingdom?
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration* when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Mt 19:28)

*Thayer's Greek Lexicon
STRONGS NT 3824: παλιγγενεσία (paliggenesia)
...that signal and glorious change of all things (in heaven and earth) "for the better, that restoration of the primal and perfect condition of things which existed before the fall of our first parents," which the Jews looked for in connection with the advent of the Messiah, and which the primitive Christians expected in connection with the visible return of Jesus from heaven: Matthew 19:28

This is in the new heavens and earth. Also called Israel's restoration. It happens on the last day in the resurrection (restoration) of believers (Israel). I have direct quotes proving this if interested.

If you limit your views of the kingdom to Jesus' description, and then study Revelation, you will not import carnal Jewish ideas into it and add to the book.

Where did he teach something else?

Are you saying his appointed apostles lied? That the bible has error?
Jesus taught the kingdom was spiritual and not physical. The disciples could not grasp this until later, being indoctrinated by the carnal Jews. But eventually all were Amillennial and taught a spiritual kingdom only. They also taught only one return of Christ on the last day, bringing in the new heavens and earth. As this universe explodes in fervent heat.

This is a very pathetic response to the Scripture quoted, which directly refuted your allegation that Christ never spoke of a Millennium or a physical Kingdom. Since you continue to resist Scriptures, you can expect to remain blind to these matters.

Give one example where Jesus preached a physical kingdom. He always preached a spiritual kingdom.

No, it is it in the second coming thrones and judgments, including Church members.

Renewal is in the MK. The new heavens and earth are after this one is destroyed.

Nor did you post a complete definition. How shocking!
