Smokers: Do your children smoke?

Oh, sounds terrible. I never had an asthma attack from it, but being around it makes it hard for me to breathe.

I have a mild asthma myself but I have never had what could be called an asthma attack.

My wife explains that it is like someone is holding a pillow over her face. There is simply little or no air available. In a serious attack immediately relief is a matter of life or death. Fortunately after many years of fighting it, her asthma, while not gone, is under control. She still has trouble with but has had no full blown attacks in several years now.

The solution initially was a heavy daily dose of steroid [Predizone] for more than 20 years. This opened the airways I guess but almost destroyed her natural immune system. This is her problem now. Her body is unable to fight off the innumerable sicknesses floating around these days. I won't detail what is happening now but... we move on trusting in God. Without Him, in spite of man's solutions, and helps she would have died long ago.

THANK YOU!!! I need a lot of prayer! I was given prednisone one time in the emergency room right after my lungs were damaged. After that, I was so sick with horrible pink eye, diarrhea, and some other things....

I do remember The little bit you shared in a post awhile back about your wife and the steroids ruining her immune system. She, I would assume knows all the things to avoid, so as not to get sick? My prayers are ever with you and her John ♥

Yes, she self administers weekly what is known as "liquid gold" to give an artificial immune system but it does not fix everything. Fortunately my insurance insurance [not Medicare] pays for most of it..

Yes, of course! Blood pressure is still down after 8 years, lungs are clear. Haven't coughed up that disgusting phlegm pretty much since starting the vaping.

Seems like with the vaping you can go for those throat hits confidently...

@Acolyte PS: HIstorical studies show that before the American Civil War it was commonplace for women churchgoers to smoke, after services; in those days it would have been pipes.

I think ppl ought to go easy on smokers; if smokers can quit, great! but if not, then others shouldn't keep giving them a hard time; and it's certainly nonsense that it's somehow not 'ladylike' to smoke; it used to be very commonplace for women churchgoers in the mid-19th century.

For me, angry with myself because I feel it is a willfull deed. And very ashamed because of it. I can spend 6-16 weeks in a nonsmoking environment and be fine. But, as soon as I'm somewhere I can smoke I do. What is up with that?
My doctor said she prefer I smoke instead of vape because they know what to look for, know when to look (sound of lungs, breathing difficulties), where with vaping the dangers are not known. Its still coating your lungs with oil.. FATHER in Heaven forgive my willfull nature, remove this need from me. In JESUS name I pray, amen

Yes it has. I will thank my brother for the rest of my life for turning me on to these. They save lives, period! Why do people thing that Big Pharma., Big Tobacco and the F.D.A. are trying so hard to demonize them...follow the money, cause it sure isn't that they all care so much about our health!
