When Adam fell in the beginning, he recieved something.
Before he fell he was receiving directly from the Creator.
He recieved his own fellowship with the Creator, he recieved all the answer to his life at the time.
He recieved a help mate and companion for his life.

There was nothing Adam needed, seemingly. His communication with his creator God was almost perfect, all he had to do was obey one command, don't eat from that tree.
When Adam disobeyed God and ate from the tree he recieved the life the Creator said he would receive, death.

Death-life was now a way of living in the earth. Wasn't the life he had but it was a life.
So now Adam goes about to replenish the earth the Creator created, but what Adam replenished the earth with was death-life, a disease he had received in the garden. Adam is looking at something he has never seen before, everything looks different.
He is thrown out of his home and now a vagabond with nowhere to go, with this life called death.

Not a very good situation to be in, from the Palace to the Pit.
And he has people (person) he must take care of.
I'm sure she is not a happy camper, shopping Maces one day and the next day screaming from child birth.

What punishment for all involved, both grinding out a living, one screaming bloody murder and the other just simply lost. Can you image, well yea we can in a way because that has been our life from the time you stepped into this world until the day you step out.

Keep in mind life and death are the same to the Lord.
You realize now your death (physical) is gain to the lord. I say that based on what Jesus said "in my Father's house are many mansions." The father is filling his house, but that is another message, John 14:2

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

So don't take death so serious, I understand grieving and lose, and we should we are not morbid but it must be the dead that bury the dead, not the living.
If you haven't figured out temporal yet well I don't know what to say, but figure it out.
When believers die they do not go to a better place like we preach. I understand the solice in that to comfort but a believer can be in no better place than they are now, which is "in Christ."
We are born dead, recieve life (Christ) if believers, most don't know what that is but we recieve it. We die and go back to the father. Make this life count, you are not going to get another life to try again.
Like the corn of wheat that falls in the ground and brings forth life our father always gets life out of death.

Death since the fall is a blessing for all. How so? Because the sooner people die, the less sin they will suffer for in eternity. And for the believer in Christ, death is the gate way to eternal bliss. To me, this understanding shows how even the genocide of the Canaanites was an act of mercy on God's part. And how war, as evil as it is, prevents sinners form living and incurring greater wrath forever. Even the great plagues were an act of God's mercy in this sense.

"Death where is your STING"? This idea of not fearing death just makes me want to praise God for that! It also encourages me to try all that I can to listen to that still small voice of God, as a way of showing that I appreciate what He did for me.

In peace

it seems that few, and even Dave, have trouble understanding the consequence of sin, In Adams case, when he sinned by eating of the tree of Knowledge, he became a candidate to die the second death, unless he had repented of his sin. The Bible is silent as to whether or not Adam repented of his sin.

Physical death was always a part of life for humanity until the end of the seventh age. Physical death did not enter this world because of Adam's sin.

A clue as to support this understanding as being true, is God's statement after around 1,000 years had passed and He was considering the activity of man at that time, He decided that he would not contend with man for a period of greater than 120 years duration.

Shalom

@soul man : Paul was in the situation of understanding what life or death would mean for him, but was seemingly content to let the Lord decide which was for him, when his time was right, one way or the other.

Nice comment, I have to contend that if Adam hadcof repented it would not have mattered anyway, the damage was done.
Adam "surely died" in the day he ate from the tree. Adam surely had a nature we have comecto call a sin naturen
Adam was nature free at creation, being created a living soul.
Life-nature-spirit all synonymous terms.
Many in the Old Testament had moments of repentance but retained tge sin-nature death life hamded down by Adam.
Nothing could take away the sin-nature but death to it, tge cross killed out the sin nature for all in Christ.

Once sin came into the world, it took nothing less than the death of Christ to be able to have it taken away.

The sin question is huge; the work of redemption is wondrous and perfect to all who truly believe. Romans 8.38-39

I grew up in law religion, I knew nothing about grace even where the scriptures declare it.
It wasn't until the mid 90's the lord began to deal very severely with my understanding to move on into grace. What a journey to understand our father in his wonderful grace.

But the love, all knowledge passing,
Grace has taught us now to know."

So do you preach regularly?

No not on a weekly basis, we meet with some friends as much as we can and have a bible study.
We do some counseling and stay busy with that most of the time. It is a great way to witness the freedom we have in Christ.
I traveled and preached for years, but the more I preached grace the more unpopular I became, at least in the arenas I have been in.
