I hope your 'knowing' is correct...but by what I read I wont hang my hat on it. :)

I suggest that you ask your executor to have the mortician place a hat on your head as he prepares your body for burial. LOL :D

Matt.24:24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

With all our technology, I often wonder what signs would this verse warn of. Then, reading up on 5g tech, I learned that it can be used to create holograms. Holograms you can touch. YIKES!!
Thousands of 5g satelites ready to be put in orbit. What ungodly uses they could be used for. Wonders in the sky?

Thought I would ask brothers/sisters in Christ what they think these wonders might be?
Thank you in advance... blessings to all.

Calling down fire from heaven.

LOL for about two decades I believed in the rapture. Then really did an open minded word study on it. The last two decades plus...I have not believed in it. Not as it is taught. The whisking-away things.
So many people just talk out of the top of their heads... the rest take things so literally.
I am very concerned for the thousands who have 'hung their hat' on being taken out of trouble ...how will they stand in the test of fire.
He has promised to be with us in trouble and deep waters...
The armour of Eph 6 does not indicate a whisking away.
With the Victory will come promotion of the sons of God...

But, there I go...just spouting my own views and opinions. We all do it. And only God Himself knows :)

Of the two, I would rather expect to "stand" , than be one who expect to be zapped out of trouble and find it didn't happen after all and then have to stand after all.

Every man must be persuaded of himself....

PS..strange how even a new thread get side tracked back to OLD subject that have been chewed over numerous time...
This thread is supposed to be about the signs which could deceive...if possible.:D

Bless you...Helen

Lol...so we get sidetracked now and then. Meh. Me too Helen, I believed in the whisked away theory for a long time and told anyone who would listen. I am in a much different place than I was back then...bottom line is IMHO-PREPAREDNESS, either way, keep watch and have our faith built up as strong as we can.
Afa the OP...I believe there are upwards of 50 warnings on false teachers and prophets. We have our armor for a reason...as well as all of these dire warnings to CHRISTIANS! It seems that many Christians think that they themselves could never be deceived. That is why I HAVE to pray for discernment all the time. Just my thoughts. :)

Well, I would disagree with the premise of some of the posts. Matthew 24 & Matthew 25 are a discourse directed at the audience that was established in Matthew 23:37-39. It is the Hebrew people.

Why would those in the church be worried about if the Antichrist sets up on a Shabbat? That is one of many comments in the discourse that would only bother a Hebrew audience, not a Christian audience. The primary application the passage is the Hebrew people. We can glean stuff from the passage, but those in the Body of Messiah are not the target audience.

Isaiah tells us....

Isaiah 45:4 For Jacob My servant's sake,
And Israel My elect,
I have even called you by your name;
I have named you, though you have not known Me.

And there are elect angels....

1 Timothy 5:21 I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing with partiality.

Where folks goof is equating election with justification. That they are one in the same thing. Sure, those in the Body of Yeshua are elect. And they are elect because they are justified (redeemed). The Hebrew people are also elect, but that is because of YHVH's promise to the Fathers. As Paul points out in Romans....

Romans 11:28-29 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

No, it isn't a discourse just for the Hebrews. In Luke 21 He warned for His servants in other countries to not enter into Judea when the abomination is setup.

It's directed to Christ's Church. Those were not un-believers on the Mount of Olives with Him. They were the 'foundation' of His Church. Don't you remember Paul said the Apostles were part of the foundation in Ephesians 2? and per Ephesians 1 that God chose His elect from the foundation of the world?

Haven't been able to get in, kept getting an error. Thought the sight was down, but doesn't look like it. Hmm

While most of these wonders are supernatural, mankind likes to see to believe. The words "lying wonders" make me think things like raising the dead could be accomplished with touchable holograms.

I wouldn't think believers would be taken by something they see broadcast.. scifi movies show us they can produce visual lies. But something they could see and touch. Just a thought.

Thanks all. Blessings

Jesus told his present audience, the disciples "when you see" these things. "you see" is 2nd person plural = those then living when he spoke of the Abomination of Desolation in Matthew 24.

One of the problems I see which reinforces prophecy is so many people today try to explain the way things with technology.

Did technology cause the Flood, destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, knocked down the walls of Jericho, created the earth, give prophecy, animates idols, possess people and on and on.

Talk about all this computer tech yet one shot by a microwave gun disables every electronic in this path. One nuclear bomb exploded at a certain height can shut down every electric grid in the USA and Canada.

There is a Lot of self-deception on the part of those Who want to be atheists or diminish the supernatural.

If not restrained demons Can wipe out every human on the earth.

So I don't know why all the debate and doubt over what the Bible says literally.

While I worked in Intel over 40 years ago I saw technology still not revealed today.

For some reason God has shown me other things most never see.

Just saying you do not know and understand nearly as much as you think you do.

We are all bugs when it comes to Angels and Demons. We do not stand a chance against them if they so desired and were allowed.

As far as deceiving the elect, nothing. We won't be here.

I am always comforted by the
" ....If it were possible..."
Therefore , it is not possible...we will know the fake when we se it!!
Yes, and then comes the question again of just who exactly are the elect... and how are they selected? Were they really preselected as some apparently believe?

I know we won't be here.

Soooo who are these that the Holy Spirit shall speak through,ie,the tongues that were not spoken since pentecost?

Mark 13:11 "But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost [Spirit]."

Do you no that hour?

Don't think you do,it's the hour of temptation.

Explain how the Holy Spirit will speak through people(the Elect)when they are not here?

As I came to believe over time, God only gives persevering faith and the witness of the Spirit to those for whom Christ died. If I were not one of them, I would not believe in Christ. I'd love sin more than God and return to my evil ways.

Give God the glory!

And I do not deny that which is actually your testimony, my friend. But never presume that just because someone else giving his testimony is wrong in details simply because some of his details differ from yours. You believe you are correct in each detail as likely everyone else here does even though it does not seem like we all could be right... For this reason we also need to be reading with understanding what God gave Solomon to write 3000 years ago:

"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts" Prov 21:2

I recognize also that in some points I could be wrong in what I believe, but when it comes down to it as the Apostle Paul wrote, "God gives the increase".

This is why to me, bottom starting is so very important.

Happiness is knowing you could not believe if Christ had not died for you. And your faith is proof he did.

Mark 13:11
11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

The time of this verse is before Pentecost. It is not about tongues. It is to the apostles by Christ before his crucifixion.
