I guess that is where we differ. My faith is built on facts.
The facts found in God's Word.
The fact that God spoke creation into existence.
The fact of 100's of fulfilled prophecies.
The fact that God cannot lie.
The fact of the Virgin birth.
The fact that we are all born in sin and need saving from our sin.
The fact that there is an eternal hell.
The fact that Jesus is God in the flesh.
The fact that He lived a life fulfilling all the demands of the law in my stead.
The fact that He died for mankind's sins.
The fact that He rose from the dead on the third day.
The fact that He offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who call upon Him.
The fact that He bestows true life to as many as receive Him.
The fact that He is coming again to judge the world. etc.
No, this is not a privatized faith, where truth is as how you see fit, but God has revealed Himself in absolute terms and facts.

Yes, we most certainly differ, but perhaps not as you suggest. I am, I guess like you a Bible reader. For many years I have been reading the Bible, all of it [66 books]. I read from it 7 days a week and have done so for years without missing a day. But you see, that is simply eating the flesh of Jesus as I understand it [John 6:53]. Without also drinking the blood it will remain undigested bits of dead carcass within us
The dead carcass if quickened in us then for us in that measure becomes the Word of God in us. The Book with the Spirit is dead and the Word of God is NOT dead.
I agree that we do have some facts, but I would not attempt to list them all as you have done, for I would likely make some mistakes.
We live for God by faith, not by knowledge, at least not a lot of knowledge initially that we can easily and definitely separate from our erroneous beliefs. We are probably, [all of us on this forum claiming to be believers], not better than a mixture of things we believe and things we know about God. The problem is we are still live by faith. A definite line cannot be drawn by any of us between what we believe in error and those things in our beliefs that would be what you call facts. However the end of our time is coming. If we faint not and endure with Him to the end of our course... hmmm?

Jesus will finish the work in us if we do too often quench the Holy Spirit within us. At the finish of that work I might venture to say... but I won't. I will simply quote another scripture with regard to our vision and what it can become:
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." I John 3:2

Jesus was dead on the cross, a dead carcass, until he resurrected! The Book of scriptures is like Jesus dead on the cross prior to His resurrection.

Yes, the Holy Spirit is essential in enlightening our undertanding to His Word...even His written Word. You cannot ivorce the written Word from the Holy Spirit, after all He is it's Author.
That verse in 2Cor 3 which you misinterpreted is actually comparing the ministration of the Gospel with that of the Mosaic Law. It actually goes hand in hand with ...
John 1:16-17 (KJV) And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
It comes close to blasphemy to say "the Book of Scriptures is like Jesus dead on the cross".
Don't you realize many martyrs were burned at the stake in translating and defending God's Word (a dead carcass as you call it) by a Religion that attempted to keep the Bible untranslated so only their priests could handle it? I am glad for those translators without whose work we would be wound up in deep superstitions and fears, chanting in monasteries or paying indulgences to getting our loved ones less time in purgatory. His Word sets us free from such nonsense, especially the nonsense about His written Word being a dead corpse.
Believers who read the Bible without walking in the Spirit as they do so get nothing "good" from it.
The interpretation you use for II Cor 3 is an old one and may also contain truth, but I would discard the other out of hand. You say the one I presented is a misinterpretation, but you know that how? Because some well studied theologians said it or because God spoke to your heart.
My beliefs are really mine. I have of course heard things from many preachers over the years... taking some on and setting some aside, but where I am is where God has led me as I followed. I have certainly taken a wrong turn here and there along the way... sometimes badly... But I really believe that the only real increases in the things of God come from God. I check myself daily during my prayer and Bible reading time by always letting myself return to the lowest room setting aside every previously held belief and doctrine and then allowing God to elevate me again as He sees fit. Of course, He is not finished with me yet.
Close to blasphemy? The Bible on a shelf that no one ever opens never saves anyone. It is effectively dead until some person partakes of it and Holy Spirit opens it up... that is quickens it [brings it to Life] within the person. In a nation which must have many millions of written Bibles why is it that such a small number regularly open one of them every day and partake of it?
People are more faithful to take the dead meat of a cow and consume until it comes to carnal as part of his own body of flesh. People will do that every day without fail and sometimes several times a day. And Jesus spoke to people in parables and most of his hearers did not understand what He was saying. The martyrs of whom you speak walked in the Spirit so the Book to them was not dead because what they read was quickened within them by the Holy Spirit.
Just possessing a Bible won't help us at all if we never read it with understanding. The understanding comes from God even as the inspiration for the writers who wrote it came from God. Why was it that Jesus spoke in parables?

The interpreter of the parables for those who walked close to Him 2000 years was Jesus. Now the interpreter for us is the Holy Spirit and without the Holy Spirit what should people be doing?
"But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God." I Cor 14:28
That means, without the Holy Spirit, we should keep our mouths closed:
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" Ecc 3:1
"... a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;" Ecc 3:7

Chuckle away! But consider what I wrote and what the scripture says and what God means. Because they too often quench the Holy Spirit people assume and presume that their doctrine is correct and everyone else's doing the same thing is wrong. What Solomon wrote 3000 years ago still applies today.

The only way a man can always be in accord with the Lord is to always be yielded to and walking the Holy Spirit. Each time and for as long as he quenches the Holy Spirit, he is following the conclusions of his own flesh even with regard to what he reads in scripture.
Men, at times with the best of intentions, program their church services days and weeks ahead of time and if God wants to intervene and do something different He has been limited by man today even as He was limited by ancient Israel. They simply have limited the ways in which can communicate and act, but they would say it is OK because "I am saved already and cannot lose my salvation"...
