The Bible scripture says we are to show our love and that we are set a part by God, Being Salt and Light in the world Matt 5: 13.
I even suppose that some ppl could take the Scripture the other way: in order to be salt and light, using means to seek to be instrumental in blessing for others, might even involve in their minds using a Scripture tattoo that is a conversation-starter...

(If this makes sense? ...not that you yourself would choose this means.)

Do you see them pragmatically though as a potential witness means? (e.g., Bible verse)

No, I don't. The greatest witness is a life that emulates the life of Jesus and he never had a tattoo.

Oh I agree about the witness of a life lived for Christ. Totally.

(I just wondered if you totally discount any blessing via a Bible verse that is inked on skin as opposed to on paper...?)

I don't like tattoos at all, but what does having one or not having one have to do with the witness of a person's life? Some of the Godliest people I know look like a billboard.

PS: When you got them, it was nearly always men that had it done, right?

Now apparently even more women do it in North America than men do.

For some reason I think its okay in males..maybe it is my age, but I hate it on females. It makes them look too masculine. They should look pretty and feminine , not like rough males.

Well, some female tattoos are kind of soft and flowery, anyway...

At 18 these days, it's both young men and young women that do it as a passage to adulthood thing.

My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area; it was her favorite Bible verse and mine also; and I'm sure other conversations have also arisen as a result of her willingness to do it.

In that sense, I was glad to see she had had it done. (If this makes any sense?)
