Just wondering... If wedding rings are pagan because Isis is the goddess of marriage, does that make "marriage" pagan?
Marriage is multicultural and can't be traced to any particular one.
Wedding rings, on the other hand, CAN be traced to pagan Egyptian culture.

Nice try . . .

Ok look, you say that the wedding ring has pagan origins but have not produced any reference. You talked of a pagan ceremony without any reference, but I produced a reference that they didn't even have a ceremony.
I believe you have proved nothing! Your only proof is the claim about Isis, but you have no proof otherwise that the marriage ceremony or ring is pagan.
I will let others be the judge of our evidence.

Well, you have none... You just said you would leave that to the historians.
He said it was given to the name of the festival... Your own quote says the word came from pagan origins!
But you keep calling it Easter and saying there is nothing pagan about it except bunnies.
I also call my wife "Honey" - although she possesses NONE of the properties or likeness of bee vomit.

As I educated you before - "Easter" is not the official name for the Solemnity - but a traditional nomenclature..

You are missing the point... Ok, beer then. Neper is the God of grain. Beer originated in Egypt. Beer is made from grain. Does that make beer pagan?
This is an idiotic response for a person who is supposed to know what he has been debating for the last several pages . . .

EVERYBODY knows that there are pagan deities that predate Christianity - yet YOU barely discovered that NOW?? Seriously??

MY
point all along has NOT been that there were no pagan deities. It has been that Easter is NOT named for any pagan deity, Einstein.

Bol, your points are so rediculous and your methodology is so shoddy that I am not even going to waste my time with you on this subject. I'm not going to even outline all the faults you have made.
Bottom line is that 3 days/3 nights is not an idiom, Jesus was crucified on Wednesday, there is plenty of pagan customs in the observation of Easter and while having NOTHING to do with the subject (but rather it's you trying to find chinks in the armour -- that IS an idiom, by the way), wedding rings are not pagan, and not part of a pagan wedding ceremony which never existed in the first place.

Go ahead and rant and rave all you want. But you have taught me nothing nor have you proven your points.

No - the fact is that 3 days and 3 night IS an idiom - and I proved it several times using Scripture and Rabbinical teaching from the Babylonian Talmud.

Your refusal to accept this fact just stems from your arrogance. There is NO way YOU can be wrong and a Catholic can be right. Your ONE 21st century rabbi was right - and ALL of the rabbinical teaching over the centuries was wrong because Catholics can't teach YOU anything. Your refusal to accept the facts about the pagan origins of wedding rings is just another desperate attempt to stay one step ahead of those "darn Catholics!".

Well - consider yourself historically, Scripturally and Talmudically SPANKED . . .

Never been so serious in all my life.
I may have jumped the gun as they say.....I apologize.

I sounded judgmental(?) with that statement. For that I apologize. I should have asked WHY you don't remember? The marriage ceremony is one of the most memorable days in our lives. There may be some underlying circumstance I am not aware of.

I did not ask them if it as going to be a Christian ceremony. I attended because I was invited and whatever ceremony they chose was their choice, not mine.

There is. I am autistic and what I remember I remember and what I forget I forget. Simple as that.
