This is a sad and bad day for millions of people globally, maybe for as many as halve the population of my country South Africa, taken for an utterly foolish ride the poor cowards. Can't they stand up against the idiotic einsteins turned master Bible translators overnight?

If I could find what you are suggesting, I would agree that it would be a sad day. But I can't find it. Adventists proposing evolution? Indeed, if I knew of it I would be protesting as well. Can you provide a more specific direction to your claim please?

And is the comment you are referring to made by one of the contributors to the study, or is it now a general teaching approved by the global church?

Quarterly Lesson Book - Sabbath School
SUNDAY March 31
In the Beginning
The Bible begins at the beginning, which is no doubt why it begins with the words (actually one word in the Hebrew) “In the beginning . . .” (Gen. 1:1). The particular focus of the chapter, of course, is the transformation of the earth from a state of being “without form, and void” (Gen. 1:2) to the world that God Himself, on the sixth day, declared “very good” (Gen. 1:31). In short, the beginning here is the beginning of our world.

Read Genesis 1. Though so much is going on, ask yourself the question:
Is there any hint of randomness or chance, or is everything done in a very orderly manner, with everything in its proper time and place? What does your answer say about the character of God?

Emphasis in red mine.

These Lessons are prepared MONTHS before the churches get them, and, AS YOU KNOW, are edited and re-edited and revised and what have you several times for APPROVAL BY ELITE SCHOLARS AND COMMITTEES AND REPRESENTATIVES and what have you BEFORE the congregations get a glimpse of them.

How do you interpret that as "evolution" when it says "transformation"?

It is perfectly true that when the earth was created it was without form (formless) and void (empty). TOHU WA BOHU. And at the end of the six days of creation it was declared to be "very good".

Making false accusations is as bad as promoting false doctrines.

Save this post of yours because you will need it soon.

But let me ask you, How do you, <interpret that>, "in the beginning God created" --<the particular focus of the chapter>--, as <transformation> when it says "created", not <transformation> you protest for!

Making false translations, or, false interpretations, or, false accusations like you and this rape of this particular Scripture Genesis 1:1 do, is worse than just <promoting false doctrines>, it is the little horn with his big mouth elevating himself above the Most High, trying to CHANGE TIMES AND LAWS OF GOD by speaking great words against Him. It is antichrist at work Period. And your defending this pathetic abortion of a translation is making of you the faithful servant of antichrist.

When a sculptor takes a formless lump of clay and creates a beautiful sculpture, he transforms that clay into a thing of beauty. And the same principle applies to God's creation. The earth at the beginning was a globular, formless, lifeless mass covered with water. It was transformed through those six days into a thing of beauty.

Not even beautiful speculation; less anything of Scripture or exegesis of Scripture. Plain disregard for every letter of the literal reality of God's Word of God who created SPEAKING INTO EXISTENCE that which before in NO MANNER OR FORM 'was', 'had been', 'existed' before. "GOD SPOKE AND IT WAS" where before God spoke it was not.

God is Creator in Genesis 1:1 of the formless and lightless and lifeless; not Transformer of the <globular, formless, lifeless mass covered with water> uncreated. You're talking blasphemy!

We and the Lesson Book talk about Genesis 1:1 QUOTED in the Lesson Book, the First Day of "six days" -- Exodus 20:11, not about Genesis 1:26-31-2:1; 2:7-25.

Hello

bə·rê·šîṯ is the first word in the Book of Genesis and is according to Biblehub, it is found 5 times elsewhere in the OT, but in the other 4 occurrences it is qualified or tied to another event, like, "In the beginning of the reign . . ", but in Genesis.1:1 it is found this way, "In the Beginning God . . .", which implies that in the creation account that God first created the heavens and the earth. Instead of "in the beginning" it easily could have been translated simply as "First," with the same understanding.

Now the earth was covered in water and God's spirit was its covering, but darkness/evil was the covering over the face of the abyss/deep. It is not until we get to the Book of Revelation that we learn that the abyss/deep/bottomless pit is going to be removed from the earth and thrown into the Lake of Fire to be destroyed/burnt up so that it will have no more place in the affairs of the people of the earth after that time.

Now, how God effected what we have today, becomes an irrational argument, because we were not there, and all that we have is a record, be it very brief of how the earth CAME INTO BEING. What we can see is that God put relationships between everything that He created, especially between, Himself and mankind, and that the rest of the scriptures describes that journey and God's hope for an outcome whereby He too can live in relationship in a righteous world of humanity.

We can write words about how this was and will be achieved, but the one question that will always remain is the relationship that each and every person has with the God/god that they worship/relate with.

What does the God/god that we worship require of us?

Do we respond because that is our hearts desire or do we respond because we believe that is what is required of us?

Coming to a correct understanding of the last two question, is what is important. Bickering about everything else without sorting out our heart will lead to an unwanted/undesired outcome.

Shalom

Addressing the OP only. I see nothing wrong in what God was doing in tranforming lifelessness to life fulness. this is actual creation in Progress. but I believe what you might be worrying about is the the lenght of time in a day, which he created everything. which can, without knowledge seems to promote evolutionary ideas, (which are promoted by man knowledge). to me here, God Got it right, Godly evolution is the process (of creation) by which different kinds of living organisms are believed to have developed from God created force, (himself), and not from earlier forms, (which is man evolution). the key here is God is the source of all "LIFE".

that's the diffrence for me when it comes to evolution, Godly evolution vs man evolution. for God is a God of ORDER. and all things is of him. supportive scripture, John 1:3 "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made".

and God did everything in ORDER. so don't worry to much about man's evolution. he is a Johnny come lately and slap a lable on what has already done. which is his charge, but there is a true science, and a false science which the bible speak of. NT, 1 Timothy 6:20 "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called".
OT, Daniel 1:3 "And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;
Daniel 1:4 "Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

God is an intelligence God, for all the true science is of God and Genesis have a full book of true science. so don't worry about "words", just have the knowledge of God to understand the "TRUTH".

PICJAG.

These tricks began in the 20th century AD. So we must assume all the learned translators --INCLUDING THE JEWISH-- actually were amateurish fools never having been able to see what these true amateurs of the modern era have discovered.
