Nowhere in Acts does it say all spoke with tongues. It happened with the Apostles and Cornelius' entourage during the two outpourings. And from then on, only through an apostle's hands. You are adding to scripture if you go beyond this.

And nowhere in Acts does it say tongues are for a limited period of time.

You need to provide scripture for your claims. Show where the gifts came in any other way than through the two outpourings or through an apostle's hands. You are adding to scripture unless you provide this.

And you need to show scriptures for your claims.

And you need to show scriptures for your claims.
“And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,” (Acts 8:18)

“For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established;” (Romans 1:11)

If tongues were to cease at the end of the world, why would Paul need to mention it? If they were to cease anyway? With everything else?

Paul said; “so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ; who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye be unreproveable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 1:7)

Notice the Revelation would also confirm them to the end. So they would not seek the gifts until the end. But only until the Revelation of Christ.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show unto his servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John;” (Revelation 1:1)

So he was saying the gifts would expire with the Revelation of Jesus Christ that we now know was written by John in either 60 or 90 AD.

All of the gifts expired, and history confirms this, as John published Revelation.

602. ἀποκάλυψις apŏkalupsis, ap-ok-al´-oop-sis; from 601; disclosure:—appearing, coming, lighten, manifestation, be revealed, revelation.

Strong, J. (2009). A Concise Dictionary of the Words in the Greek Testament and The Hebrew Bible (Vol. 1, p. 14).

used for Revelation of Jesus Christ by Paul and John

Now consider Paul of the second coming of Christ:

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely. And may your spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Coming = παρουσία, Parousia = 15.86 παρέρχομαιb; παραγίνομαιa; πάρειμιb; παρουσίαb, ας f; παρίσταμαιe (and 2nd aorist active): to come to be present at a particular place—‘to come, to arrive, to come to be present.’

I guess the word of God lies as I have seen miracles happen, people get delivered, people set free of bondage, have used the gift of discernment and so on.

The mother of one of the most spiritual ladies I have ever met had cancer and as she prayed for her, she felt that she was not to die of it so she prayed for her to be healed.

She recovered from it and lived a healthy life and died later from old age in her sleep.

But of course, that was all fantasy as miracles do not happen today.

Evidence please.
People said people who spoke in tongues were edified by doing so. Paul says understanding what is said is what edifies. So they knew what they were saying before they interpreted it so others could be edified. This means today's "tongues" are more phony than a $3 Rolex.

I am sorry but that is not evidence that tongues do not exist today.

Speak in tongues and record it. Take it around to several sects for interpretation. You will get that many different interpretations.

It certainly is if you can find an honest person who will admit they do not know what they are saying.
So your evidence is a person that admits they do not know what they are saying?

That is anecdotal, not evidence.

The prayer of faith heals even if TV Charismatics make a fortune off of it. I had a Baptists friend whose daughter had a hole in her skull. The Lord caused new bone to grow in place of it. The doctors had to remove a steel plate to make room for the new bone. But tongues today are as phony as a $3 Rolex.

How strange that God has removed tongues but not the other gifts. Evidence, please.
