Yes. I live in the middle of two of them. They’re old school, too. Some CoC have abandoned the belief they’re the only ones saved, but most, if not all, still hold to baptismal regeneration. :(
A bit difficult for meaningful fellowship if the whole grounds of professed life in Christ supposedly revolves around water baptism. (I don't see water baptism in John 3.16, Ephesians 2, etc.)

I am not dismissing baptism, but we have to put emphasis where emphasis is needed. No amount of water dunking changes a person’s spiritual state. Only grace and grace alone does that.

(Words probably prompted by Ephesians: )

"All of grace, yes, grace surpassing
Such a portion to bestow,
But the love, all knowledge passing,
Grace has taught us now to know.

Love that bore the stripes and sorrow,
Love that suffered on the tree,
Love that shares the bright tomorrow
With the loved ones, you and me."

Yes. They are imputed the Christ’s righteousness and stand before the Father clothed in this righteousness, and He sees them as if they had never sinned the first sin.

What verses do you have in mind that the righteous who do wicked acts and their righteousness is not remembered any more?
The key is faith, as far as its application is concerned, right?

Hebrews 11 says, by way of Old Testament examples, over and over: 'By faith...'...

i get tired of this idea that God selects individuals for salvation. These are called “the elect”.
There is not a person on here that can PROVE they are one of the elect. You can’t demonstrate anything physically. You can’t point to anything in the Bible that proves that you personally have been selected. You can only point to generic passages talking about election. And in those passages there is NOTHING that points directly to you.
So, I want ALL those who think God chose you for election to please stand up and PROVE IT!!!

What is really interesting is that not all the "elect" are saved.

Isaiah 45:4
For Jacob My servant’s sake, And Israel My elect, I have even called you by your name; I have named you, though you have not known Me.

Hello CharismaticLady,

The Book of Isaiah is a lovely book, yes?

It's interesting that you presented Isaiah 45:4, because the "you" and "your" refer to Cyrus which God identifies long before Cyrus is born. Cyrus whom God would use issue the decree for Jerusalem to be built! A powerful prophecy!!! Cyrus is called for the sake of "Israel My elect"! That is God's lovingkindness for Israel God's elect referring to the people of Israel corporately - as a nation.

The passage has nothing to do with the "elect" not being saved, and no passage in the Bible reflects anything about the "elect" not being saved. Elect and chosen are the same thing.

In the promise of the resurrection unto Life Eternal in Christ Jesus,
Kermos

The point is, that not all Israel accepted Christ, so even if you were called the "elect," there was still a personal responsibility to accept or reject Christ. Christ died that WHOSOEVER will accept Him of their own free will and follow Him to the end of their days would be saved, even Gentiles. That requires perseverance to endure to the end. Only those who keep the commandments of Jesus to believe on Him and to love one another can have assurance of salvation. 1 John 3:18-23. It will not be those who went to Sunday school as a kid, got baptized, then started fornicating on every different date. Willful sin, WILL separate you from God, and those who never repent after being sanctified, WILL go to hell. It is NOT as Martin Luther believed that "even if you committed murder and adultery 1000 times a day, it would not separate you from God." That is the heresy that evolved into the OSAS doctrine.

You are mistaken for you subscribe to the false doctrine of "free will". The only "free will" mention in the New Testament - a single mention of it - is used in figurative fashion not actual application - thus the Apostle Paul successfully conveyed that doing good was at best an appearance of "free will" but not actual "free will". "Free will" is now dispensed to the doctrine of man.

Let's just look at the Lord Jesus' words recorded in John 3:16:

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

Wow, CharismaticLady, you sure did change the passage! You wrote "WHOSOEVER will accept Him of their own free will". Bad, bad, bad, changing the words of Jesus like that! Jesus did not say "whoever chooses to believe" nor did He say "accept Him" nor did He say "free will". Lord Jesus said "whoever believes" in John 3:16, and Lord Jesus said:

"This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."
(John 6:29)

See, CharismaticLady, that it is a work of God that a person believe in Jesus whom the Father has sent. God gives faith, that is election. Faith/belief is by God's choosing of the person! Lord Jesus said:

"you did not choose Me, but I chose you"
(John 15:16)

And these words of Jesus, God incarnate, close the door on people "accepting" or "choosing" or "willing" unto salvation.

We that are of Christ, born into His resurrection, live sanctified lives according to the Holy Spirit, for Lord Jesus says as much:

"But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."
(John 3:21)

"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged."
(John 16:7-11)

"You will know them by their fruits"
(Matther 7:16)

There you have it, good works are the fruit of the Spirit of God! That's not of man, CharismaticLady.

God is good, man is bad, God chooses man thus man inherits God's righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Lord Jesus said:

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand."
(John 10:27-28)

Israel God's elect are safe for NO ONE CAN SNATCH GOD'S CHOSEN FROM GOD'S HAND!

"Free will" is against God! "Free will" is heresy. "Free will" leads to death. Only God can free a person from "free will" delusion!

By the @Nancy, you have bound yourself to wrong doctrince again, by your "like" of CharismaticLady's post!

God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew.[Romans 11:2a]

God did not foreknow every Israelite whoever lived. Divine foreknowledge and omniscience aren’t the same thing.

He chose Abraham to birth Israel. Out of these ppl the Messiah would come. But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;[Romans 9:6] Not every Jew was God’s elect.

They've made up their own gospel, their golden calves made of their own hands instead of the true worship of God. They let us know they agree with this fabricated false gospel when they like their posts.

To top that off they respond to a biblical answer glorifying God alone, with a post that attempts to glorify what they did, and how God elected them because they jumped through a hoop. Reminds me of the circus where a poodle jumps through a hoop, then gets a snack, which is merited. Their gospel is no different in the end.

Hi K,
Didn't read your entire post.
Maybe I'll wait for the book to come out.

But, anyway, you say we have no free will?
This is an interesting concept.
So when somebody murders a person...whose will are they following?

That's her then. She bears false witness and says we're the dead church. She's clueless. If you're going to put "lady" in your moniker, at least try to act like one, at least that's my opinion.
