Why do you all think God would do that?Per the below verse.

II Thessalonians 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion , that they should a lie;"

Will share my thoughts soon.

A few thoughts come to mind. Scripture offers us numerous warnings regarding deception, particularly in the context of the last days as in 2Thess. The identity and character of the son of perdition/Antichrist/man of sin etc is clear to all those willing to listen. But if we should shut our ears to those warnings, being content with half truths and refusing to heed new light and counsel, then God will eventually withdraw His Spirit and surrender those folk to their delusions, which over time have become stronger and more set.

Be better if you were a tad more careful; misspelled thread name and missed word in your quote. That sort of thing denigrates you.

Yes, as Windmillcharge says: Read the context!
People will be locked into their delusions because they have chosen to believe Satanic lies. This applies to everyone, Christians are not exempted. Isaiah 29:9-12, Isaiah 42:18-20, Jeremiah 4:2. +

I have presented our (Bible Students) thoughts on this under my blog post entitled, "Our Lord's Great Prophecy", Part 38, you might also see Part 42 for our concluding thoughts on this "Word of Warning".

V10 say for this reason and on into v11.
Context should always be read.
Even so...

"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie" II Thess 2:10-11

The verses actually infer, do they not, that a person can lose his love for truth and when he does he actually moves from being saved to being lost? He is simply reaping what he sowed.

Jesus finished his work and we, each of us, must finish ours while there is still Light to work by:

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work" John 9:4

And seemingly many having lost their love for truth have been moved into delusion now believing a lie.

2 Thess. 2:11… God puts those who do not open their minds to the love of the truth, under a compelling delusion, which makes them believe what is false.
Then in Isaiah 29:9-14, talking to us, that is: the Christian peoples, the Laodicean Church of today: we are…. pitiful wretches, we attend ‘church’ but our hearts are far from the Lord. Our worship is by rote and made up of rules taught from men. Therefore once more the Lord will astound His people, shock and amaze us. Most of us won’t know His plans, because the wisdom of the wise will be removed and the discernment of the intelligent will be lost. Matthew 11:25

The Day is coming; When the wicked and godless will vanish and all who love evil will be cut down. Isaiah 29:20-21, Isaiah 66:15-17, Psalm 83, Rev. 6:12-17

Then: In that Day; the deaf will hear the words of scripture and the blinded will see through the impenetrable darkness. Isaiah 29:18 & 24 The lowly will once again rejoice in the Lord, as the Holy Land is regenerated into a fruitful garden Land. Ezekiel 36:8, Amos 9:13-15, Isaiah 35

That Day of fire and tempest, Malachi 4:1-3, Joel 2:1-11, +, is not a Day for all who believe in the Lord to panic or be frightened, for Righteousness will rise among them, as the Lord heals the wounds [of spiritual and physical exile, Ezekiel 37] inflicted upon His people. Isaiah 30:25-28, Zephaniah 3:8-10, Revelation 7:9-17

This is what we look forward to, our great hope for the future:

Ezekiel 34:11-16 Now, [that is: soon after the Day of the Lord’s wrath against the nations] I, Myself will search for and gather My people, I will rescue them for wherever they are scattered after that Day of cloud and darkness. I shall lead them out of the nations, Micah 2:12-13, Psalms 107, and bring them home to their own country. I shall make a Covenant with them to ensure peace and prosperity and they will have good leaders. Ezekiel 34:23-31, Jeremiah 30:21, Hosea 1:11

After they are settled, Jeremiah 30 & 31, the Lord will summon Gog to come down from the north and invade the Land recently restored from ruin, whose people are gathered from many nations and are now settled and prosperous. Ezekiel 38:8 This is in order for the Lord, through His people, to show Himself great and holy to the nations. Ezekiel 38:16

Later, the Leader of the One World Government, a ten region confederation, Daniel 7:24, Rev 17:12-13, will come to the new nation of Beulah, Isaiah 62:1-5, and make a seven year treaty of peace with them. Daniel 9:27, He will break it at the mid-point and invade Beulah. Zechariah 14:1-2 But this will trigger the Great Tribulation trumpet and bowl punishments. 1260 days later, the Lord Jesus will Return, destroy those attackers of Jerusalem, bind up Satan and commence His Millennial reign.

As Apostle Paul showed in Romans 11 about Israel in part having been blinded by God, so The Gospel would go to the Gentiles, and that God will remove that blindness when the fulness of the Gentiles comes in, that... reveals how some, literally, did not receive the love of the truth, and thus will be blinded and deceived. This while others... He has sealed by The Holy Spirit so that they cannot... be deceived. It's getting into the idea of election and predestination. For many are called, but few are chosen.

What is our first love?

"Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love." Rev 2:4

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:33

If we are seeking earnestly and firstly those two things, would that or should that not equal our first love? If so then anything else needed will be added... but the seeking must be continued until the end of our course. At least that is what I understand.

Thanks for the Ezekiel 34 verses, I was looking for this pattern: Day of wrath then the peace covenant.

11“For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. 12As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. 13And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. There they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. 15I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God. 16I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice.

17“As for you, my flock, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and male goats. 18Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the rest of your pasture; and to drink of clear water, that you must muddy the rest of the water with your feet? 19And must my sheep eat what you have trodden with your feet, and drink what you have muddied with your feet?

20“Therefore, thus says the Lord God to them: Behold, I, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21Because you push with side and shoulder, and thrust at all the weak with your horns, till you have scattered them abroad, 22I will rescue my flock; they shall no longer be a prey. And I will judge between sheep and sheep. 23And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. 24And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. I am the Lord; I have spoken.

25I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild beasts from the land, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. 26And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing. 27And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them. 28They shall no more be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the land devour them. They shall dwell securely, and none shall make them afraid.

The 'day of wrath' is the same as the 'year of recompense'/ year of vengeance as in Isaiah 34:8 For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

The 'day of wrath' is caused by the breaking of the covenant & abomination at the start of the 6th Seal/ Revelation 6:17. Essentially, the 'year of vengeance' consists of Trumpets 1-5 & the war at the 6th Trumpet, then the peace covenant starts at the 1260 days of the 2 witnesses who are gathering the scattered (the 2 witnesses are the 1st half of this 'covenant').

When that covenant is broken/ annulled, then the 7th Trumpet starts & the 7 bowls of wrath go out.

Hello @dismas I have considered these verses and would suggest that the English translator have focused on the Jewish understanding that the Abrahamic covenant was all about gaining possession over land, whereas Gen_12:1 was a promise that God would journey with Abraham towards an earth that God Himself would show Abraham. The receiving of this inheritance of the whole earth happens after the GWTRJ.

Here is how I would understand verses 11-16 of Ez_34.

11 'For thus says the Lord God: "Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver/rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. 13 And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries and will bring them to/into their own land/fertile field; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country/earth. 14 I will feed them in good pasture, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel. There they shall lie down in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. 15 I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down," says the Lord God. 16 "I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment."

Notice the underlined words in the passage above, God intends for Israel to remain scattered in all of the places where He has caused them to be scattered too.

@Keraz 's theories as to what is to happen in our near future is flawed, because he has a short term understanding of God's purposes. His understanding of the unfolding events is not that far removed from the Pre-trib understanding.

If you want to confirm my above paraphrase of these 5 verses, you need to study the Hebrew words themselves and see how the words have been translated differently from other occurrences of the same Hebrew word found elsewhere in the OT. This is a lot of hard slow work to establish the truth of God's purposes as set out in the OT.

Take the time to study at a much deeper level were the fallible errors of the translators will not cloud your understanding.

Take your time as this is a very slow process to see God's purposes foretold before they will actually happen.

Shalom

Wrong. Many prophesies tell of how the Lord's faithful people will at last occupy all of that Land He originally gave to the Patriarchs. WE Christians will be the people God always wanted there; is witnesses, Isaiah 43:10, John 15:27 and His Light to the nations; Isaiah 49:8, Matthew 5:14-16

Ezekiel 36:1-38
This is what the Lord says about the Land of Israel: Israel, the enemies have gloated over you and you were trampled down when you were occupied by other nations. I will speak to the Land, now plundered and despised by the surrounding nations.
In My burning zeal, I have spoken out against the rest of the nations, especially Edom, for with glee and malice they seized My Land as spoil. Therefore, because Israel has suffered the scorn of the nations, I swear that those nations will in turn suffer scorn.

But you, Land of Israel, bring forth your branches and yield your fruit for My people, [all true Christian believers], for their homecoming is near. See how I will look on you with favour, you will be fruitful. I shall settle on you many people - the whole 12 tribes of Israel, [plus those grafted in] the towns inhabited and the Land prosperous. My people, will live there again, never again to leave. No longer will they suffer the scorn of foreigners.
When ancient Israel was living in the Land, they defiled it by their idolatry. I sentenced them to exile around the world. But I have concern for My Holy Name, so you Israelites, it is not for your sake that I am acting – I shall show My Holiness through you and all the nations will know that I am the Lord.

I shall take you out of the world, gather you from every land and bring you back to your homeland. I will purify you of everything that defiles you. You will have a new heart and I will put My spirit within you and you will desire to only follow My Laws.

Then you will live in the Land that I had given to your forefathers. You will be My people and I will be your God. Having saved you from all that defiles you, I shall command the Land to be plentiful, trees will bear abundant fruit and the soil will produce heavy crops. Never again will you suffer famine. Isaiah 35:1-10, Ezekiel 34:11-31
You will recall your wicked conduct and evil deeds and will hate yourself for them. Feel the shame and disgrace of your old ways, people of Israel.

The Lord says: when I have cleansed you of all your wrongdoings, you will settle in the Land and the ruined places will be rebuilt. The Land will be ploughed and sown, no longer a devastation [after the Sixth Seal event] and rain will come in due season.
The nations still left around you will know that it is I, the Lord who has done this.

The Lord says; once again, I will let the Israelites pray to Me for help. They will become many, as flocks of sheep in the Land. As Jerusalem has flocks of sheep at festival time, so will the towns of Israel be filled with flocks of people.
Then: they will know that I am their God. Ref: REB some verses condensed.

The prophet Ezekiel, who was commissioned to prophesy specifically to the House of Israel: Ezekiel 2:3, wrote chapter 36, giving the story of how God will, in His burning zeal, clear the evil neighbours, Jeremiah 12:14, out of all the holy Land. Then, His people, the Christian Israelites, Jew and from every nation and language, will gather and settle in the Land. They will receive God’s Spirit and will live in the Land with great prosperity. This is in order for them to be a light to the nations and to prepare for the Return of Jesus.

Keraz, have you spent any time studying the Hebrew text to the best of your ability to confirm your beliefs?

I have. If you take that time you may be surprised as to how God intends to use His Kingdom of Priests scattered throughout the whole earth.

Even now, I am still learning new things as I study God's word.

If you would consider taking the time to study the Hebrew Texts you may be surprised by what you will discover, but you will need to take the blinkers off.

No, I do not consider it necessary for me, at my age; to spend years learning ancient Hebrew. Many other scholars, smarter that me have done that and I benefit from their knowledge.
As Christians, we are now in Jesus' Spiritual Kingdom, evangelizing the world. But this does not preclude a future Kingdom, centered in Jerusalem.

Your saying that I have 'blinkers' because I don't view the end times as you do, is kind of pretentious and shows you up as one who is unable to see another point of view.

So you have accepted other peoples life work without questioning whether or not they actually had any understanding at all. You have blindly accepted their theological understandings with out proof testing of their conclusions.

Only a few years ago, I believe that God's Abrahamic Covenant was all about giving Abraham "land" until I started to look at the Hebrew words and found that the "smarter" scholars, that you have relied on, translated the same Hebrew Word with the same Hebrew Root embedded in it, a number of different ways depending on the theological understanding that they were wanting to make in the various scriptural passages. I would have gladly gone along with your conclusions, but after much research, I have come to see the errors fostered onto us in the traditional English Translations and the scholars' writings.

God's plan for the outworking of salvation for the Saints, require the righteous descendants of Abraham to remain scattered to the four corners of the earth up to and until the GWTRJ. After the Judgement where we live on the earth will be immaterial to all of us.

I can see where you have obtained your POV but it is based on a fallible English translation. Now with your words of rejection of my POV you are blowing me off as being crazy because of your pretentious believe in your own infallibility with respect to your personal understanding.

Shalom

Keraz & I share a mutual distaste for the notion of a 'whisked away' 'rapture' (imo, it is part of the strong delusion), but whereas he thinks Christians will be gathered to nation state 'Israel', I would say that Christians are gathered within their own country (hence, 'people are gathered to their own land' as you point out), causing a civil war within their own countries.

The strong delusion is the means by which people are sorted, how the tares are sorted from the wheat.

Roughly speaking, the events of the strong delusion seem to split people into 3 categories:

people who love God (represented by the woman of Rev 12)
the beast from the sea kingdom (led by the dragon)
the beast from the earth kingdom

the dragon hates the woman
the beast from the earth hates the dragon (to gain the woman's trust)
the beast from the earth helps the woman
the beast from the earth tricks some Christians (the 5 foolish virgins) into worshiping the beast from the sea (the dragon)

let's put it in modern context

a Nazi regime hates Jews & Christians
a Pope hates Nazis
Catholic Churches help Jews and other Christians
a Pope tricks some Jews & Christians into worshiping a 'repentant' (formerly 'mind controlled') resurrected Nazi

this is like the parable of the sower.
Matthew 13:3 "And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
Matthew 13:4 "And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Matthew 13:5 "Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
Matthew 13:6 "And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
Matthew 13:7 "And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

Matthew 13:8 "But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.Matthew 13:9 "Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

the parble is twofold.
