You know what heals people total mind, body, and soul. You do, you have the power to heal humanity by your outlook on them. This sparked in me as we discussed and commented in another thread. You know what heals the world, when you see them in their creation. You see them as they are "in the image and likeness of God." You see them as God created them with the potential to have Christ live in them and be expressed through their life.

You know what heals believers, you do, when you can look beyond all the differences and see Christ in them they get healed. You won't need an alter call, a prayer meeting, or even fast and pray. People get healed when they can be themselves. Ever wonder about this internet business, what is it that makes us say and handle each other the way we do. We can be ourselves, no facades, the real deal. What you get is me, I can let my hair down and just be me. Sure it may not be pretty at times but point is you can be you without having to do something to be yourself.

That is the way it should be everyday in life, you be you. Don't be me, don't even be Jesus of Nazareth, be you. Now we have another life in us and should be mindful of that.

Some say "well you just don't know me, I need rules and laws to help me." Ok then you still have not seen Christ as your life. That's ok, but until you do your right, you probably will need some guidance for living. This is the way Paul put it "I beat my body into submission," why would you want to do that. Because you need to, one way or another you will come into where your father is leading, in growth and maturity, make it easy on yourself. People believe grace is a play thing, those that believe that are not living by grace. In law you are always repenting, pleading for forgiveness, no growth.

In grace you know what is right and have no excuse and nothing to fall back on, so you either live it or you miserable fail your father. And of coarse we ask for forgiveness but it's different for the on going believers with knowledge. There is no game played, it is based on love, but at times the correction is more severe than an all out backslider. What is a backslider? You will have to answer that.

I agree with what you're saying, but I prefer to remember that those who still make mistakes still have the law to tell them that they made a mistake; that's what it's there for. If we still sin, then we still must rely upon the law to inform us as well as Christ's sacrifice to cover our sin. If that's the case, then we're still, as Paul says, "under the law to Christ".

It's easy to sit back and point out how much we no longer rely upon the law anymore now that Christ has conquered our most tempting sins, but Christ points out that if we're not careful, they can be replaced with much more subtle sin. At some point even boasting in Christ can be seen as boasting in ourselves, especially when we're comparing ourselves to someone else's walk.

I'm firmly convinced I have met saints. They're meek and humble, and practically invisible to this fallen world.

This is a great thread - thanks soul man. I think you are right about a lot of what you said. For myself, I still need my church, which is my spiritual hospital. I am healing from the Fall, and even though I walk with Christ all the time, I am still under doctors orders, so to speak.

I liked what you said about being able to speak from your true self online. This is not always the case with people online so you have a real gift. We should be able to connect true self to true self. You might enjoy reading CS Lewis’ short essay, ‘The Weight of Glory’. It can be found online for free and it describes how to view the world and others. It is my favorite writing from Lewis.

You do; or we do; or I do? Yes, looking at this one verse, it is in there:

"That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." John 1:9

This speaks not just of those who know that they have met the Master, but as it says "every man that cometh into the world". This is every man born of woman in the flesh has just that glimmer of Light. Salvation or walking with God, no! But... the glimmer is there to attract us... to draw us:

"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44

Not everyone who sees that glimmer chooses to walk toward it... in order to embrace the Light and to be always in the Light, but the opportunity is there in that glimmer. It is the drawing of the Father and then for us it is as the OP says: "You do, you have the power...". God gave us all that much, but we, each of us, so chosen to see the glimmer, must choose [or not] to walk toward it until as Jesus was the Light while in the flesh of a man 2000 years ago, we may also be the Light:

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matt 5:14-16

What is a backslider? You will have to answer that.
A backslider is one who having been the Light of the world has quenched that Light in himself:

"Quench not the Spirit." I Thess 5:19
