Precisely the New Testament was complete upon johns death
The writing was perhaps complete, but unlike the personal work of Jesus in His own flesh which was finished on the cross [John 19:30] our work, the work in each of us continues until each of us has finished his course [the end of his allotted time].

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Heb 12:2

Our faith when it is finished in each of us will be knowledge, but the work goes on in me and in most of us.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." Rom 1:16-17

From faith to faith we move until finally at the end... when Jesus has finished His work in us, then will be able to speak only of knowledge.

Why not obey the things written inside the covenant that the Holy Spirit gives to all filled with the Spirit of Christ. They are yours, just as they are mine.
Are you saying, I don’t speak in tongues due to a lack of obedience, or are you saying I am not filled with the Holy Spirit?
Not really sure what your saying?

Who knows, certainly not me about you. I wasn't filled with the Spirit for the first 30 years of going to church. Not everyone who claims to be a Christian actually has the Holy Spirit in them. Its not just a memory verse to believe, it is a real experience based on true repentance. Have you ever experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit?

I don’t believe so, what’s this experience like?

I don’t believe so, what’s this experience like?

When I was wrapped up in a sin so powerful I didn't want it to end, I got honest with God and told Him I was helpless to stop. But I also told Him that if He wanted me to stop then for Him to do something where I couldn't obtain the object of my sin anymore. A week later it was gone. That was the first prayer in 30 years of going to church that was ever answered. But there were still blockages to being blessed, and God sovereignly showed me a vision of my sin, so I truly repented of what I saw, and asked God to scrub me completely and thoroughly clean. Suddenly I felt light as a feather and felt something like warm oil flowing over me and in me like I was a sponge. Overnight all desire for my sin was gone, I had a new nature that loved the things of God and hated all sin. That was February 9, 1977 around 8:00 pm.

I was like the guy in Romans 7, learning what I should do, but not having the will or power to actually do it. So, yes, like millions of church goers today, I was going to church out of habit. - unsaved.

How did You come to realize what you were doing was a sin?

I memorized the scriptures like many church goers and even seminarians. Even Satan does that.
You must have an incredible memory, do you remember one that says when the Spirit comes He will reprove the world of sin, or something like that? I can’t remember.

So back to this sin, did you know it was a sin prior to your experience?

Oh yes. It is one of the Ten Commandments. I fell in love with a married man, and he with me. I tried month after month to give him up, but just couldn't, so I got honest with God and told Him, to have my lover break up with me, and give him the strength to stay away from me even when I would try to get him back. One week later he came over and told me he suddenly realized that he wasn't good for me and couldn't be there when I needed him. God used his love for me to stay away from me. I was not only in awe that my prayer was answered, I was heartbroken. There is much more to the story in my testimony, but two weeks later my life changed forever.

Only thing I could find:

John 15:
26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
