You must watch Christ in you! you learn him who is your life because he is expressed through your creation. You come into union with Christ in you. What exactly does that mean? It means you have been joined to the Lord by a birthing and you have learned to have that expression. A true expression of your true self, of who you are. Who are you? You are a Christian by Christ in you and that came about by being born again, a literal birthing. Ultimately you will say I am who I am by Christ in me.

You dont get to be a Christian by anything you do. You have got to listen to the Spirit on the matter. There was nothing you could do to birth yourself, just like you had absulutely nothing to do with your natural birth you had absulutely nothing to do with your spiritual birth. We believe, but the birthing process is totally a father thing. "You must be born again."

As long as your two persons there has been no understanding of union, no complete oneness of accord. It is a mind issue at this point, religion will divide you at this juncture to keep Christ as an add on. You and he (Christ) are supposed to skip through this world as two, two opposites. One saint and one sinner, if your sins build up to much ask the saint to forgive you. What's wrong with that kind of a mindset? No union of expression, no oneness of your creation to be who God created you to be.

You have to remember that the only completion that has ever existed is "in Christ." Christ completes your creation, you knowing it free's the mind to give proper expression to your creation.

I do agree so much with the Spirit from which this was written. For you are touching on the Divine Nature being birthed in us. Which is our new creation, the Christ in us being brought to growth and maturity.

May God continue to grow and enlarge Himself in you beyond all measure.

Thank you for the read and be blessed in Christ, Not me

Hi @soul man

Two people walking together, interesting analogy! We have to understand that if life seems so divided as that, this signals that the mind of the flesh must be doing the thinking.

Very interesting and profound post to me.

We are Christians by Christ in us, yet we do not always describe our lives as "Christ in me". We truly are new creations, yet our lives seem just as conflicted, sometimes? All the time?

To live is Christ. If it's not Christ, it's not life. Jesus came that we can have life. This is eternal life, to know God, and Jesus, Whom God sent.

To those who believe in Jesus, we are born from the Father, just so, what God did. We are new, according to Him.

Everything that does not match Christ in you is not you. It is the flesh, the old man, the Adamic creation, the condemned, of whom it is written, Vanity, all is vanity! Nothing that old man does is worth a thing! It just wastes our time.

I go to work and work according to flesh, for a fleshy reward. I go to work and work in the Spirit, for spiritual reward, and God provides all needed things regardless.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 KJV
(17) Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
(18) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

It is seeing Jesus in us that transforms us. Seeing the flesh in us does not transform is. It conforms us to the flesh, and to the world.

We see Jesus in us by our thoughts and feelings and actions, as they are from Him, and this forms the pattern of our mind. When we walk as if we were not born again, walking according to the flesh, then this forms the pattern of our mind.

The difference between these two is that in forming our minds according to the mind of Christ, this is who we are, and we are transformed. In forming our minds according to the corrupted mind of the corrupted flesh, that's not who we are, it's forcing us into something else.

These two walking together, they are enemies. Separateness from Jesus in the redeemed shows walking according to the flesh, and experiencing the mind of the flesh.

Living in the mind of the Spirit is life and peace and fruitfulness and faithfulness and love. The new creation always trusts, loves, serves. The new creation never fears, never gets snippy, never becomes tight-fisted.

So I'll repeat soul man's question, who are you? Who am I right now?

I can look in my mind to see, and ask myself, which part of the Bible describes what I see? If of the flesh, there is one thing to do. Trust Jesus.

Decide to trust Jesus for life in Christ, and then look for the mind He's give to each of us, the same mind, the mind of Christ.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

I can ask, God, please secure my thoughts on Jesus, but I have to ask myself 2 questions.

Is this what I am actually believing can happen? If I don't think it can be real, should I expect to receive? But in fact, it's already true. I just have to live it.

Is this what I am actually choosing? I can realize that my thoughts have moved into the mind of the flesh, let's say as I envy what someone else has, or become impatient or angry over some circumstance, or whatever. I can pray for God to change things, and He will, but how quickly? How well am I cooperating?

My cooperation is to make that choice, knowing God has the power to make it real for me, that this is what He's already done for me.

This is a man walking around in broad daylight with his eyes closed asking God to allow him to see. He already has sight, he just has to open his eyes.

We already have faith. We just have to believe.

We already have life. We just have to open our minds to that reality, and accept it as truth.

We already are unified with Jesus, with the Father, with the Holy Spirit. We already are alive in Christ, we already have a new mind of Christ. So to see ourselves as unified is the only reality. And the only way we will consistently live for Him.

We really can experience the abundant and fruitful life simply by trusting Jesus that He has given this to us, and then choosing to live accordingly.

Great post! Great thread!

Much love!

Thank you for your kind words. The only salvation is in Christ, Christ in you is salvation. The seed of God is Christ, the nature of God is in Christ, we know what Peter said about the nature.

You bring out some good points through out your comment. I believe we don't use the language because it is not a commonly taught or discussed topic and really isn't for front in an individuals life. The HolySpirit makes it real to believers as it is brought out. Paul called it the gospel, Christ in you, and that revealed, Galatians 1:11-12,

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The gospel of works or correction, or anything else we might add is just part of the gospel. The full gospel is; the preaching of a person as life, Christ in you the hope of glory.

I have heard good teachers say "we need to crucify ourselves to please God." I know I have said it myself but I do not say that now. First there is no scripture for crucifying self,
Secondly there was never anything wrong with self. The problem happened in spirit in the fall in the garden. Self was missed used by the sin nature, but it was never self acting out on it's own, always dependant on nature yhe crossed killed the old man nature, now in Christ we get a new nature we can live by. An exchange of nature's happens the moment we believe, the old man is dead glory to God! Somewhere sometime the Christian must start to properly divide soul and spirit.

Quite agreed!

Having been baptised into Christ, we are crucified to our flesh, and it's sinful ways. Therefore God instructs us to "reckon ye also yourself dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord".

To whom does He say this? To those who are not so reckoning.

If we are not counting ourselves dead to sin, and alive to God - an entirely new way of living - then we need to begin doing just that. Not that God wants for us to believe a lie, but that we would live according to what is true.

If we are experiencing the power of sin, we've believed THAT lie, that sin has power over us. It does not.

An exchange of nature's happens the moment we believe, the old man is dead glory to God! Somewhere sometime the Christian must start to properly divide soul and spirit.

Agreed again!

We need to come to understand that anything that does not agree with Scripture, that any thought or behavior or feeling that is not in accord with the overcoming life of Jesus in us, is not of the Spirit, not the new man, and can simply be ignored until it shuts up, even if that's only when we die.

Let the flesh beg and demand and cajole and lie and I don't care! It's toothless and senseless, and I've quite frankly had it up to here with allowing my flesh to rob parts of my life away from me.

One place I am reminded of, Colossians 3, Mortify therefore your members that are upon the earth. "members" is literally body parts. The hands want to sin this way, the feet that way, the mind the other way. Put all to death. Because we are crucified together with Jesus.

Much love!

It is not very good to labor together in the Lord?

Much love!

This is the scripture I was referring to;

1 Thessalonians 3:2 (NKJV)
and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith,

If any of us still sin at all, to me that means that the old man is NOT dead. Who can kill him? Who killed Jesus?

Could anyone have crucified Jesus without his permission? We might say that others bound him and nailed him, but...

"Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." John 10:17-18

So then can we crucify ourselves? Is not crucifixion a form of death? Does not to mortify mean to put to death?

Paul put is like this:

"I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily." I Cor 15:31

Daily, as I see it, Paul was killing the old man as he continued to raise up his nasty head. So must we do also by the power of God within us.
"Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:" Col 3:5

We, in and of the old man alone, cannot do these things, but what of the new man? Can he not by the power of God kill the old man?

So then can we crucify ourselves? Is not crucifixion a form of death? Does not to mortify mean to put to death?
Are these the questions we need to be asking?

Having been baptized into Christ, we are baptized into His death, co-crucified with Christ, and crucified to the flesh, the Law, sin, the world. All of this as finished as Jesus' death on the cross. He died, and we died in Him. And we are crucified.

That is, if we are baptized into Christ. If we are not we are none of His. If we are, then we are already crucified to the old man, to the flesh, and we are now to mortify - put to death - our body parts that are on the earth. Romans 12 of course puts it as offering our bodies a living sacrifice. But why? Because, even though having been crucified with Christ, we still need to take active control over these bodies corrupted by sin.

Sanctification is not the slow death of the old man. Sanctification is the implementation of God's power through the new man, through the Holy Spirit, over the body of flesh, exerting Godly control in greater measure over the body of corrupt flesh.

So then, to me, the question to be asking is, do you yet need to be crucified with Christ, so that you can live? If co-crucified, then the question is, do you need to take ahold of the faith that God has given, to believe that He has done it?

Much love!

I was responding to @soul man who indicated there was no scripture for crucifying self.

If we are to be like Him, should we expect to not to things similar to or equal to or greater than what He did?

"Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also." John 15:20

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." John 14:12

Having been baptized into Christ, we are baptized into His death, co-crucified with Christ, and crucified to the flesh, the Law, sin, the world. All of this as finished as Jesus' death on the cross. He died, and we died in Him. And we are crucified.
Jesus opened the Door, but we once we are prepared must walk through it ourselves. We need not walk alone or never ask for help, but walk we must if ever we are overcome as He overcome. Jesus overcame the world only for Himself. He has made it possible for us to do the same... through the Word and the power of the Holy Ghost. The dying to ourselves must continue until we have finished our course... dying daily as Paul also wrote of himself.

If we still sin, then the old man lives still fighting for his lost dominion. He will fight that fight until completely killed or until there is no more time. The body corrupted by sin is the old man. He needs to be dead.

None of us were crucified with Christ on Calvary. We are now to be taking up our own crosses and dying to whatever remains of the old man in us. This is effectively our crucifying of self.

"And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it." Matt 10:38-39

That life to be lost is the old man, while the life to be found is the new man as per Apostle Paul. This is our work here which Jesus made a possibility for us. He did not kill our old man for us. He provides the means including always being with us to accomplish that work within us.

"He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30

Sanctification is not the slow death of the old man. Sanctification is the implementation of God's power through the new man, through the Holy Spirit, over the body of flesh, exerting Godly control in greater measure over the body of corrupt flesh.

So then, to me, the question to be asking is, do you yet need to be crucified with Christ, so that you can live? If co-crucified, then the question is, do you need to take ahold of the faith that God has given, to believe that He has done it?

The sanctification of which you speak is the cleaning out of our filthy vessel of every trace of that old man and his ways and replacing them and him in every part of us with the new man. The Life is here but until the whole vessel is inhabitable by God and inhabited by God the work is not finished. Jesus finished his work, but our is not finished yet. If we sit back expected Him to do all of the work, why should we ever expect Him to say to us?

"...Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." Matt 25:23

We cannot do the work alone, but we must work with all that we have been given and then He will take up the slack doing all that is necessary which we are unable to do. " Much is given... much is required"!

This statement is made by Satan in the Parable of the Talents.

This statement though is made by Christ: -

Luke_12:42-44: - 42 And the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 44 Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.

Really? And who is this satan character anyway? If it were only the "old man" of me, my own devil, then it would be me telling me how well I have done. I don't do that. I know that anything good I have done is of God anything evil I have done is of me.

If satan were some heavenly entity fallen from the grace of God, then to me it would be that stranger whose voice I should not be able to hear and to whom I certainly should pay no real attention.
