I'm in agreement; for it is written,The oral may mean that which spoken, but really what is necessary is that which is spoken by God. A person can memorize the written Bible and then recite it aloud without really knowing the Word of God. I suspect that Jews who really loved God understood that in their hearts. Christians who worship too closely the literal written words of scripture may at times find themselves in trouble with God. This will explain definitely any apparent discrepancies in that which is written, when it is only written on paper.
Jhn 5:38, And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
Jhn 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Jhn 5:40, And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
and,
1Co 8:1, Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
1Co 8:2, And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
1Co 8:3, But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
That being said, there is the following:
2Pe 1:5, And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
and,
2Pe 3:18, But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Therefore, there is something to be said for growing in knowledge.
