I can even remember when Barry McGuire's "Eve of Destruction" came out. They didn't like his lyrics “You’re old enough to kill, but not for votin’”
Also, Creedence Clearwaters "Fortunate son"
If anyone's interested here is a list of the "offensive" songs.
The Twenty Best Vietnam Protest Songs
I remember some of those...rememnber singing "blowin' in the wind" solo at a school concert. Personal favourite was Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant. Remember singing that with a group of half a dozen friends walking arm in arm down local suburban streets at two o'clock in the morning. And of course Country Joe and the Fish...123 what are we fighting for...
The Vietnam War was a scandal of monumental proportions. And a direct reflection of the specific topic at hand. Conflict between extremes to produce a desired result. Vietnam was purely a religious war...Catholicism versus Communism. American soldiers were not fighting for "uncle Sam"...they were fighting for "uncle Cardinal Spellman".

What do you think? The witch hunt impeachment inquiry over by Halloween, and Trump resigns by Thanksgiving.

ScottA, we do not agree. keraz places the Armageddon event at the end of the Millennium Age whereas I place Armageddon at the beginning of the age with a possible fleeting presence of Christ at the Armageddon event while He is judging the Kings and their Armies assembling to approach Jerusalem for one last trampling of the Sanctuary of God and His Hosts. My understanding is the Christ will Rule as a High Priest in heaven during the first 1,000 years of the Millennium Age. Very different understandings from my perspective.
Well...that sounds quite a bit less committed to when Jesus returns, saying just "with a possible fleeting presence of Christ." Whereas in his and your previous statements you each had Jesus's return more positively placed...which puts you back at 1000 years apart.

Thanks for clarifying...but that is certainly less hopeful for the two of you.

I could let my mind race; but one thing I think I see clearly. Trump is good at appealing to the fear of white Americans who are afraid or resentful of people who aren't like them. Other groups of people are seen as threats, and Trump is seen as a hero. Americans are becoming fearful, and thus they can be exploited by politicians who offer them peace and safety. It's not as bad as Nazi Germany, and I don't think it will become that bad; but the same techniques are being used. Don't think it's only Trump either who does this. I distrust any politician who wants to divide and conquer by creating fear that pits one group against another.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Trump's supporters come from all walks and races, and he supports all equally. It's not fear, but a desire and dedication to not loosing all that America has done for freedom for all.

I don't think you may be seeing things the way others see them. White evangelicals tended to support Trump's Muslim ban and couldn't understand why anyone would oppose it. I saw people here applauding his speech at the UN about religious freedom; but the people applauding that didn't seem to remember that Muslim ban.

Let's wait for the election to see if black voters stay at home the way they did last time. If all the blacks who voted for Obama had voted for Hillary, she would have won key states. She took them for granted. I doubt they'll stay at home next election. His comments about the four Congresswomen certainly didn't help.

July 16, 2019 Polls show sour views of race relations in Trump's America

Majorities of Americans who are black, Hispanic and Asian said Trump has made race relations worse, compared with about half of white Americans. Among white Americans, views diverged by education — 64% of whites with a college degree think Trump has worsened race relations, compared with 41% of those without.

Christians should have learned by now -- AFTER ALL THE BOGUS POLLING THAT TOOK PLACE -- that polls are seriously misleading (and are meant to mislead and sway public opinion leftward). They are designed to be skewed. And Christians -- of all people -- should ignore all the garbage thrown at Donald Trump.

The media and the pollsters have all become enemies of the people and the Constitution. And yet we have some Christians going along with all the Left-Liberal nonsense (and hate-mongering) in America.

ScottA, if I am in error with my understanding of when Armageddon will occur and when return Christ's permanent return to the earth will be, then please provide the scriptural basis for the correction that you are trying to make. Otherwise you are only expressing an opinion with no substance.

Opinions do not advance anyone's understanding of the End times. Get my drift. Hopefully you can post your understanding and not your usual hogwash.

Yes, call names as if that establishes facts.

The polling was not that bogus. It was misinterpreted, that's for sure. People looked at the national polls and predicted Clinton would win. She did win the most votes; but that's not what mattered. I had been looking at the states and knew Trump had a chance at it. Here's something you need to know about pollsters. If they do a really bad job, no one is going to hire them in the future.

Christians should ignore everything thrown at Trump? Are you serious? That's what people say when the facts aren't on their side. Just call it fake and hope people believe you.

Ummmm, how did a thread with the topic based on the occult in the United nations end up with Trump' impeachment? Oh right. Because I said, let's see where this leads. Mmmm.
Memo to self. Find link between anti Trump folk on this site who have changed the subject and the UN occult folk who don't want this information disseminated.
Warning to all. Don't mess with this conspiracy theorist...I will find you and expose you.:mad::oops::rolleyes::eek::eek:

Wow...you got that all backwards!

Obama was the most racially divisive president in modern US History, and Trump is just being truthful in spite of race--which is not racist, but honest.

Now I see where you're coming from. I happen to believe Omarosa.

What did happen was that Obama made some indiscrete remarks, disappointing many whites who thought the racism problem was fixed. Then too there was a white backlash against the idea of having a black man in power.

I think you need to fit the Jews into your conspiracy theory. Every respectable conspiracy theory has Jews in it.

If I post anything...it is the truth from God, not "hogwash." And don't be accusing me of the use of opinion when you yourself have called my post hogwash and in the same post giving room for the possibility that you could be in error--which is proof of your own use of opinion. You are making yourself out to be a hypocrite.

As for your "with a possible fleeting presence of Christ" iffy position on the timing of the return of Christ: The scriptures do not indicate "Christ's permanent return to the earth" (as you say), but rather that "I go to the Father", "and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

So, yes, you error. If you would like to concede this crucial point, perhaps we can discuss it with out the "hogwash."

Okay...you believe a Democratic opponent, and I believe Trump.

As for Obama, he had the opportunity to seal what history had almost completely finished, but spoke for division rather than unity. You spoke of black votes in the next election...well there were scores of white voters who voted Obama into office, and then he turned against them. His election was the proof of no prejudice, but his actions were the definition and cause of the reawakening of prejudice, and the dividing of a nation.

There have been Republicans too who called Trump out for his divisive comments about race.

I never voted for Obama, by the way. I live in a small town in Pennsylvania and didn't like his racist comments about small towns in Pennsylvania the first time he was running. His comments were strange to me since I had black neighbors on both sides and some across the street. I also detested some things Michele Obama said. I think they both had prejudices then from living in Chicago. Over time however I saw him making mistakes but maturing. I don't see Trump changing. He seems to think he can re-elected by appealing to that base of white voters. Somehow I don't see it happening unless the Democrats nominate a real loser -- and they could.

"White" has nothing to do with it.

Either one accepts the fact that we hired a tough guy to do a tough job, or they are offended because they don't have a clear picture of what the real fight is about, that politics has become grossly corrupt...and in spite of Trump's character flaws, he is not for the corrupt politics, but for America.

Race, on the other hand, is a favorite tool among Democrats.

Your fantasy opinion once again with no scripture to support it, just your claim that Christ will reign on earth for the Millennium from the start of the Millennium. Your understanding of the timelines given in the Bible is not in keeping with the actual prophetic timelines given by God.

Revelation 16 and history do not support your wild theories.

But your response claiming that you tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth is hogwash and nothing less.

As for proving that I am in error as to my timing of when Christ returns, you provided no scripture to support your understanding, as to when, you believe, that Christ will return permanently to the face of the earth.

As for being iffy as you put it, Luke 14 speaks of Christ being seen by the Israelites from Jerusalem, judging the heathen nations of the earth assembled at Armageddon, after the 2,300 years of trampling the sanctuary of God and His Hosts, and that the Israelites send a delegation to Him to seek out His terms of Peace with no indication that Christ then hangs around on the face of the earth for 1,000 years ruling the earth from the face of the earth. I believe that Christ returns to heaven and acts as our High Priest with the Saints hat have lost their heads because of their belief in Christ who also are made priests in heaven with Christ as described in rev 20. Then after first dealing with the beast and the false prophet at the end of Rev 19 very near the end of the Millennium Age, Christ then Goes after Satan and also deals with him in Rev 20 and also dispatches Satan into the lake of fire where He will have just also dispatched the beast and the false prophet into the lake of fire.

After that we are told that Christ comes to Judge the nations of all the peoples of the earth with some receiving their inheritance because of their righteousness and the other unrighteous people will also then be dispatched into the lake of fire.

Now ScottA have you scripture to counter this understanding?
