The potential for catastrophe seems huge to me. If the Turks decide to kill as many Kurds as they can find, who will stop them? Syria can't. Russia won't since the Russians help make that deal. Iran won't. Iraq won't. The Kurds will be sitting ducks the way they were in Iraq after the US withdrew support for them. Saddam went in with poison gas and armed forces and killed who knows how many? That was after the Kurds were supporting the American side in the war between Iran and Iraq. When that war ended, the US saw no further use for them.
Turkey's problem is having so many refugees. It is a huge problem. Europe doesn't want them. Certainly Trump doesn't. So they say they have a reason for going into Syria -- and they do -- but it's an extremely dangerous situation.
Yes, the whole region seems ready to go up in flames if someone doesn't calm things down.Definitely. Add in Israel to the mix, and it'll blow up, or will one of these times (we've already seen this with Syria and Israel in small attacks here and there). We've seen little flare ups start, then flame out - one of these is going to set it all off in a big way.
I would never trust the Kurds let alone give them the time of day.Why is the USA withdrawing armed forces from Syria then? Another win for Russia, I'd say. That's twice the USA betrayed the Kurds. I wonder if they'll ever trust us again. I wonder if any country will trust us again. Meanwhile everyone's distracted about impeachment stuff.
Best let them go for it among themselves, as all that the West is doing over their is spinning it's wheels and getting no where, if you try to help them they only bite you in the back.Yes, the whole region seems ready to go up in flames if someone doesn't calm things down.
I haven't seen a map lately; but my impression was the Kurds also blocked the flow of supplies from Iran to Hezbollah in Syria.
If my memory is right on that, that could mean more missiles and other things getting shipped to southern Syria for attacks on Israel.
My guess is that Iran may wait until next year to attack Israel in any serious way, just in time to affect the American election. What Trump did with Iran is beyond imagining to me. While I am not in love the current President, he was a "moderate" in comparison to his predecessor. He even told people to stop chanting, "Death to America" once. He was trying to take Iran to a less extreme position; but Trump's pulling out has given the extremists more power since they are violently opposed to any deals like the one the current President made.
The situation in Egypt is tenuous too. President el-Sisi has done a lot of good by cutting off the flow of arms through Egypt into Palestine; but he's been too severe with his own people. They're getting very restless now. Curiously enough, el-Sisi used to live in the town I live in now. He went to the Army War College. I would have thought they taught him about the dangers of being too severe with people. The poverty rate is going up in Egypt too. Some foreign aid would help; and sound advice from the US State Department would help too. Trump doesn't care. He jokingly called el-Sisi "my favorite dictator."
Trump stunned US officials when he called Egyptian President el-Sisi 'my favorite dictator' at the G7
President Donald Trump astonished US officials at the G7 summit in France when he jokingly referred to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi as "my favorite dictator."
According to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news, Trump made the comments while waiting to meet with the Egyptian president. He searched over a gathering of Egyptian and US officials and loudly called out: "Where's my favorite dictator?"
The Journal reported that Trump's question was met with a shocked silence. It was unclear whether el-Sisi heard the remarks.
The White House declined Insider's request for comment.
ISIS is controlled by the Jews, they have never attacked the Jews have they."As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I've done before!)," the President tweeted Monday morning.

He's lost his mind. We have a delusional and paranoid basket case in the oval office.

unintentional irony, hmm. Fwiw i srsly doubt that, but i understandUnintentional irony. It wasn't just a man.
Jesus did not come here to die, and specifically asked Yah that that cup pass from Him;If so, it's kinda odd that He came here specifically to die, don't you think?
Who's running things, anyone? Now it's said the US is not pulling out entirely. Does anyone know what's going on?"As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I've done before!)," the President tweeted Monday morning.

Trump Administration Appears to Reverse Syria Decision Following Backlash
A senior administration official on an organized call with reporters appeared to contradict President Donald Trump about Syria policy late Monday, refuting interpretations of his statements from earlier in the day that prompted broad outrage from supporters and opponents alike.
The U.S. is not removing its forces from Syria in the face of a Turkish incursion, said the official, speaking on the condition of anonymity. Rather, the president ordered roughly 50 special operations troops in northern Syria to relocate to a different part of the country after he learned that Turkey has planned an offensive against U.S.-backed Kurdish forces in Syria. The official said that offensive had not yet begun.
The latest assertion, however, appears to conflict with a flurry of tweets the president issued Monday, further explaining a White House statement late Sunday that first announced the withdrawal, but offered few details.
If you would just Quote where Paul said "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" i might be able to illustrate
Jesus did not come here to die,
and specifically asked Yah that that cup pass from Him;
just for you, i guess :)
No, hell no, Jesus did not come to be a sacrifice for your sins, in the manner we are taught, imo.
Not arguing that He was not prepared for the inevitable death, but we also have vv to the effect "Jesus laid His life down willingly, no one, including God nor Caiaphas, took It from Him" yeh?
So imo looking through the lens of a bit less emo-charged example might work, did Gandhi come to die, did JFK come to die, etc?
just my opinion bro, but i would ask your thoughtful response, after recognizing any cognitive dissonance if you would.
Its a hard step, i know.
ha well you have not Quoted it yet?Sounds interesting. What do you think it means?
and yet He asked that that cup pass from Him, and maybe i am not the one missing anything here, having firmly come from the standard Christian Believer pov myself. Just bc He told His apostles what must happen does not mean that that is what He would have preferred happen, yes? if it be Your will, let this cup pass from Me is pretty...condemning, in this context, imo.And yet, at the Last Supper, that's what He told His apostles. You're missing a lot by quote-mining His words.
see above. Sorry.See above. Sorry.
easy to make that the focus rather than the truth contained in the part 1 i guess;"Nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt." so yes that's what happened. He, being man as full as being God, was full of fear and reluctance, but went forward anyway.
cant Quote Jesus actually shedding any either, can ya?Don't remember either of them telling their followers that they were going to shed their blood for them. What do you have?
maybe, yup. Been called worse i guessJust another troll skin on the Happy Room wall.
i am here for your heads, yes.Sounds like a message from Satan.

He must not marry a widow, a divorced woman, or a woman defiled by prostitution, but only a virgin from his own people,
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
