For sure Marks...Keith was also an evangelist of sorts...he had such a heart for God, nothing ever got in his way. If only today's songs would have lyrics like his...

Amen!

I must admit that most of today's lyrics do not inspire me.

I have the guitar chords for "There Is a Redeemer" and still sing it occasionally. It really has amazing lyrics!
I find myself thinking about the words on an almost daily basis and even though I know it so well it still brings tears to my eyes. Inspired by the Holy spirit - no doubt of that.

I love the way He captures the Trinity in this song!

Thank you, oh, my Father
For sending us Your Son
And leaving Your Spirit til
The work on earth is done

I think I got all the words right.

Agreed Pat,
Way too many are focused on "self" and our own comfort...true worship music is supposed to point to Him, not us. Although there are still some wonderful songs today, far and few between though.

@amadeus nice to see you again. You will be seeing me more often brother. xox
Good to hear!
I remember a few years ago when you, seeing me on another forum, invited me back here. I was nominally still a member but hadn't been active for a long while. Now sometimes I would have to say I am a regular here. I rarely visit that other forum where you encountered me to extend the new invite. Thank you and give God the glory!

This is the first music Christian music, or as they called it back then "Jesus music"... (along with The 2nd Chapter Of Acts and Berry McGuire and others) that I had ever listened to back in 1992. I absolutely love it. :) The 1960's had a huge Jesus revival...in conjunction with the "sex, drugs and rock n roll side of that era...I have heard Keith's story as well as 2nd Chapter of Acts (Siblings)
There has not ever been a posthumous "testimony" or any for that matter, other than Keith's that has touched me to the core. His wife, Melody and his surviving daughters still run the Last Days ministry in Texas to this day...what a loss for us yet a gain for Heaven when he died so young.
He hung out with Bob Dylan at one point.

He was on Dick Cavet too...I think it was Cavet?? Hi Rollo!!!!!!!!!
Here's an early one:

He starts playing right after the 5 point on the tape. His hair was so blond back then...so brown later!

Ah, yes you did! That lyric used to make me feel bad for the Holy Spirit, lol...you know, like He was "left behind" and forced to stay in this icky world! But of course, that was quite awhile back and, I've come a way's since then :)
