Strawman
You get it from the context John. There is no other way to read it.
Wait a minute. Isn't an unbeliever's "punishment" supposed to be Eternity in never-ending fire? Now, how long did Jesus spend in that tomb? Do we have any record of Him being tormented in Hell? (I think that can be derived from "context".)
Let's not add things to Scripture that aren't there... no matter how tempting it is to do that.

This is a misrepresented story.

But even if it wasn't, I have documented evidence of you sinning; right here on the site in black and white. There's no escaping from the fact that this "sinless Christianity" you are peddling is indeed a farse.

You have no evidence that I have committed a sin of lawlessness, which is what Jesus has freed us from. I don't suppose your denomination teaches you of the two kinds of sin either, so your accusation you think you have against me is out of blatant ignorance.

You just said you haven't read it, so how do you know my charge is ridiculous. It is not ridiculous at all, but very accurate.
Then prove it. I've read lots from MacArthur. I just haven't read that particular book. So that is why I can say your charge is ridiculous. So, as they say, put up or shut up, otherwise you are just bearing false witness.

Prove his book is not full of hate. I do not bear false witness. I have the book. You don't, so you are bearing false witness against me because you don't know what you are talking about. Keep this up, and I'll put you on ignore, as you are not adding anything worth noting in this post. I ignore anyone who proves to be just a weed.

What do you know about anything scriptural. Are you a Calvinist? What do you like about it. I find NOTHING that isn't just twisted scripture, like what JM does.

Why are you so reluctant to provide proof?

If you need a label, I guess that will do as well as most others.

char·is·mat·ic
/ˌkerəzˈmadik/
adjective
adjective: charismatic
  1. 1.
exercising a compelling charm which inspires devotion in others.
Since there are so many brands of theology labels are useful to know how someone is looking at Scripture. If that is the case, then it is understandable why you don't like MacArthur because he exposes the folly of some of the Charismatic teachings. Darkness does not like the light.

No..... it's more that I don't see Christ asking us to attack others who worship God differently than we do. I think most of the time He was reminding us that it is ourselves we are to be concerned with when it comes to how we approach Him.

You're right, attacking others probably is not too pleasing to God. I think He said: "This (whatever He mentioned at the time) is what you simply need to stay away from."
By the way this is strawman. Jesus never said we are not to rebuke false teachings. Nor did he ever say we are to only concern ourselves with how we approach God. In fact, he said quite the opposite.

I think Jesus spoke of Heaven something like six times as much as He mentioned Hell. I conclude there just might be a lesson in there for us.

Whatever you need to seek out and go after. I just don't feel I am supposed to.
