Scripture interprets scripture (1 Corinthians 2:13). All verses out of the kjv:

1Th 5:23, And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Th 5:24, Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Heb 10:14, For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

1Jo 3:8, He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jo 3:9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
.
.
.
1Jo 3:7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1Jo 3:3, And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1Jo 2:6, He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
.
.
.
Jde 1:24, Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

2Pe 1:10, Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

1Jo 2:10, He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

Nowadays people can't even handle the theory of the power of God. They read about the miracles and think these are for bible times or else read them as bible stories.

But the reality of God's power (grace) is far from them.

As long as statements about victory over sin and the world remain as bible verses...these can be safely ignored...or so it seems.

But where is the testimony of a walk IN Christ? I mean without mislabeling a normal human walk for being more than it really is.

We hear a lot about a personal relationship with Jesus from people but very little in the way of evidence in testimony or faith. How many write off the biblical statements out of hand and call anyone who believes in them...never mind experiences an actual walk in God...mystics.

Sadly, many claim but few are honest.

But a little humility and honesty...with repentance...and all is not lost...yet. :) There may yet be time to turn things around in favour of a living relationship with and in the Truth.

No where according to you.

Do you ever write posts where you do not routinely, and with great overgeneralization, disparage others?

Have you considered the implications of needing to do this all the time?

And to just out of hand dismiss God's presence in the lives of His people. I can't imagine!

But this kind of attitude should be something to consider.

Sadly, many claim but few are honest.

Yep, just a bunch of liars, the lot of us!

Humph!

Interesting thing about this verse . . .

upload_2019-10-18_15-22-18.png

Literally, He has perfected into finality the ones being sanctified.

Perfected is in the Perfect tense, already completed, and does not change, while Sanctified is in the Present tense, being done now.

What do you make of that?

Much love!

I think that the verse that I quoted previous to it, 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, shows that those who are perfected for ever are not those just being sanctified, but those who are sanctified.

God never partially sanctifies people. Nor does He half-crucify people. Both of these take place when one enters into Christ. They happen in the twinkling of an eye.

The process of being saved into the likeness of Christ (Christ being FORMED in us) in our own characters takes a long time however...and most people never get there...or anywhere near there.

I would think that the process of spiritual crucifixion (of the flesh) would take a little bit of time; just as it took a few hours for Christ to be physically crucified; and did not happen "in the twinkling of an eye".
