Did I count right? 27 threads started? Some folks have only posted 36 times (not started 36 threads).
I only started 6 threads, but a recent one I started wasn't noted. Boo! Hiss! I am not good at starting threads... Folks just don't respond. Guess it's just not my talent.
FHII is too modest. As I recall, one of his threads went on for more than 175 posts.:)
I think it is partly a matter of persistence. If you notice, Episkopos starts threads, and if nobody responds he just keeps responding to himself until the thread finally gets some action. Then again, there's also the ones who respond to themselves for three pages straight with no response...
That just makes you look a little nuts, LoL.

You have different kind of practical experience than probably most on here and often a different kind of resulting insight into what is happening around us these days. I don't always agree with you but sometimes you do set me to thinking to remember some of my own experiences especially when I used to interview people every day.Son of a gun! And I thought I was just told I never started any threads, and that I was always negative in anything I posted. I must have missed the negativity in all those threads. (27 threads? I think that averages out to a taste more than one a month.)

Well I am not upset at it... If my posts aren't interesting, so be it. It sounds like Episkopos has an interesting strategy. He's a good man, even though we don't always agree. But if he knows how to drum up interest, that's good.:)

What are you suggesting? Have I done violence to anyone? Have I falsely accused or shown to be discontent with my wages? Each of us needs to go where God leads us.
"... And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages." Luke 3:14
"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil 4:11
But if he knows how to drum up interest, that's good.
Yea .. probably true.Actually, it also involves stroking people's fur the wrong way as well, or just a little anyway. You're almost guaranteed to get a response if you "drum up" interest by ending it with a theological cymbal crash to someone's face, LoL.
Albeit "unintentionally," of course.![]()
Not suggesting anything negative. Rather just giving you scriptural support for where you are. When God gives you the words to write and you write them, but no one responds, consider the prophets in the OT who spoke the Word of God, but so many would not hear and would not obey. What are you suggesting? Have I done violence to anyone? Have I falsely accused or shown to be discontent with my wages?
I am content. No bitterness at all if a thread of mine bombs.
Yea .. probably true.
Sometimes fur needs to be stroked wrong even if it's wrong to do so. Correction cannot occur unless there is error.
I have been in error, and if I never talked about it, I would not have been corrected.
Hi there HIHCorrection isn't a fun job. It's why there were so many commands to congregations in the NT letters to honor those having authority over them in Christ, as those who would have to give an account for them before God. Nobody likes being corrected, so in the short run it makes you a bad guy. But as the scripture says, "speaking the truth in love, let us grow up into Him in all things." That's a paraphrase, but it's close. :)
I guess I do have a tendency to forget that not everyone lives most days to expect the unexpected. It's not as challenging as being a street cop, but close. You have different kind of practical experience than probably most on here and often a different kind of resulting insight into what is happening around us these days. Sometimes it is good to stir up the pot a little and you frequently do that with your common posts as well as when you initiate thread. We do live in this world... even though, hopefully, we are not all of it.
Hi there HIH
Hey stranger! Good to see you still around : )
I've finally decided to check back again. Hope everything is well with you.
All good...stick around
