We often referr to Paul as the greatest psychologist to ever lived. I'm sure there has been many great ones through the years, but what is meant by that is Paul was the first to tell humanity what made them operate. The way the problems still exist in science I'm sure Paul is still the only one that can help humanity in their mind's. Science has not figured out what makes a human being tick, and they won't. Not worldly science anyway, and Christian council seems to have there trouble with it too.

How does Paul sum up the whole matter. The little words "be transformed by the renewing of the mind." What a simple suggestion he makes for Christian's, that simple suggestion will be your everything in this life. Why the mind and not the spirit? Because the mind is where you grow and understand the things of God, your spirit was taken care of at the cross in Christ the moment you believed and were placed in Christ. What things of God is Paul saying we need to be renewed to? Christ in you the hope of glory! Always keep in mind Paul never speaks from another standpoint, everything Paul writes is based on being in Christ or Christ in you same thing.

So as spiritual as you want to be you better start with your mind because it is what will ultimately express what has gone on in spirit, and what is going on. If you do not understand the difference between soul and spirit you should study to find out. It is written and available for all believers to understand. You know I'll be a little facetious here; when sinners get saved they should spend at least 5 years in the desert to get the worldly junk out before they ever present themselves to the world. I know that is facetious but there is some truth to it as well, maybe the time is off but they need to grow and be taught by the HolySpirit for some time before attacking the world with all tge answers. On a personal level; i made several messes, zeal can be good when focused right. I think about a young preacher at the time who had been in the Lord all his life, and he was wise. I sat under his teaching the first few years of my Christian life. When I look back now I see he really knew what he was talking about and had good depth.

I was being preasured to preach because of my grandfather being in the ministry, they wanted me in the forefront for some reason. He told me! You are a novice, a youngman that needs to learn. You should not do anything until you feel like you are prepared. Well being the nice rebel I always was, as much as I liked him he was not going to tell me what to do. Wow what a giant mess that became long story short. Not just that situation but my whole Christian walk, without going into all the details new believers need sound instruction in the things of God. We can say alot of things but it will ultimately be the HolySpirit that teaches them.

This is a common error. This statement would be akin to thinking the wilderness and the promised land were both the same place...since they are out of Egypt.

The mistake of a novice. A lack of experience in the presence of God.

But the real journey is in the high calling in Christ...to enter INTO Christ and walk as Jesus walked. So few can even believe such a walk exists...and why? Because of bad teaching.

Just read Exodus! ;)

But I know where we are called to. I am a living witness to that high calling. And in every generation the body needs to come together to push into the promises of God. We need to "strive together for the faith of the gospel.". But the traditions of men have rendered this dynamic "theoretical"...as in every generation. So we must rise up to the calling ourselves in every time and place.

To deny being "In Christ" is the same as denying being a new creation.

If any be in Christ, he is a new creation.

"the mistake of a novice" = slur against another. Why do you find this consistently necessary? Something to think about.

Much love!

Question . . . in that you've said you've done this in the past, what you call "walking in Zion", and you've said that in present times you are not, I forget which thread, if not, why not?

There are some very serious implications in this question.

Much love!

The mistake of a novice believing that Israel could not be "walking" with God on the "earth" that God had promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:1 and this same "earth" God also promised to give to Abraham's descendants after him, while they were in Egypt. (If fact their was a core group living within Egypt that did know how to walk within God's "earth.") God also required Abraham to walk the length and breath of this "earth" to inherit this same "earth". The "promised land covenant" which was to be in their possess for a finite period of time, was to confirm to Abraham and his descendants that some time in the future their inheritance would be the whole earth that God created and will refurbished for them to live in for all of eternity.

The New Testament clearly sets out that the inheritance of the Saints after the fist advent of Christ is the same "earth" that was promised to Abraham in the Abrahamic covenant. The saints of today are called, like Abraham, to walk the length and breath of the "earth" that He, God, will show us. There is no "high calling" as you have stated, but we are to walk humbly, like a servant, with God/Christ as we walk in God's "earthly" kingdom during our lifetime, serving God's purposes, as we, through the example of our lives in God/Christ, draw people who do not know God/Christ, to also embrace and commit to their own relationship with God/Jesus.

There is so much misunderstanding expressed by people who believe they have a "high calling in Christ" but who miss how Christ walked as a humble servant and instead of being a servant, they lord it over the people around them telling the people what they should be doing but who do not demonstrate and live within the boundaries that they have set for others to live within a "true" relationship with God/Christ.

Am I/are you, humble enough to take my/your own "prescribed medicine" to live through my/your "higher calling in Christ" or is our respective lives just a façade which hides the grubby lives that we actually live?

Shalom

You are so mixed up in your hatred of this man that you will say anything to try to do damage to him in some way. Telling the truth is now a derogatory slur? You are something else man.

Sometimes I feel you smart yourself out of common sense...

They died in the wilderness, never entering the promised land, due to unbelief in God/ mistrust of God.

But you ask, how do we know the wilderness/the place of testing of trust, is not, in fact, the promised land?

Do you have an example of how we do that?

God sees who we are. He tests us and watches how we do in the situations that He allows to arise in our lives. Didn't Joshua and Caleb pass their tests? Did they not do better than their brethren? They trusted God to do the fighting for them so God was with them.

So if we surrender fully to the Lord will He not visit us in order to set us on a higher path? Will He not empower us with His grace? Will we not see and enter into His works?

But God is fair and righteous. Our hearts have to line up with His ways. A broken and contrite heart. A mind that is not looking for a religious way out....a theory that makes an excuse for being overcome by the flesh. No, but a heart and mind that is stayed on Him.

The main problem is a lack of faith towards God and a lack of honesty about our true condition. There is a superficial way in which so many modern believers seek to categorize their infirmities while condemning others who have those same infirmities.

God gives grace to the humble...not the dogmatically conditioned religious posturer. There is a real living God who visits His people with life and authority over everything in this world...including sin.

Not even the gates of hell can resist they who enter into His life and keep the common cause of the common faith that is found exclusively IN Christ. So we are to enter into His rest. So we are to be translated into His presence and walk as Jesus walked. In the supernatural empowering of grace.

Peace

Its the surrender fully part that I tend to convince myself I have done when, in fact, I haven't. Its a lot of balls to try to juggle. He teaches me and reveals to me a bit at a time.

Like...oh my gosh, I find I can't explain. I will have to get it on paper and come back with it.

Okay, here's an example of not being fully surrendered in trust.

Things don't go as I planned. Say...I get a flat tire on my way to something important or...I unexpectedly lose my job for some reason.

It is my reaction that shows if I am fully surrendered in trust or not. If there is anger, impatience or worry, I show my lack of surrender in trust.

Take the job example. If I was surrendered in complete trust, there would be no worry, just a calm asking for what I need. This would be because I trust and believe what He has said about my provision.

And take the flat tire. He has said a man makes his plans but it is God who guides/orders his steps. But do I believe that? Am I fully surrendered in trust on it? Think about Joseph and his brothers. Joseph experienced a massive "flat tire." Wound up in a ditch. Nothing gone as he had planned. A years long, flat tire. A long time later, he saw why and knew why. But at the reveal was not his testing. His testing of trust was in the years leading up to the reveal. And how many of us would not be trying to get back home and kicking against God placing us there? How many of us would be screaming its not fair, rather than saying, God has placed me here and its hard, but I will wait to see what He means by all of this unfair treatment of me at my brothers hands and what He will do?

So...we like to say we are fully surrendered in trust, we like to sing songs about being fully surrendered in trust, but our reactions often show that we are lying to ourselves.

We can see ourselves in the exodus. God saved them from Pharoah. They trusted Him and stepped out under the water. He saved us also. Then we enter the wilderness, where we are tested to see if we will remain in that trust. This is to abide or to not abide.

We Gentiles have received Christ without any effort or seeking on our part. It is a gift. He was found by they who sought Him not.

But to walk in obedience to His calling does require that seeking. And this is why godly Gentiles are just as rare as godly Israelites.

God has not changed and made things easier. But He has given us a sample of what we are to seek for.

We are to strive to attain to and apprehend that for which we have been apprehended.

So we have been qualified for a race. We are NOT at the end of the race...but at the very beginning. Most modern believers remain spiritual novices their entire lives....not understanding God's ways nor the nature of the calling into Christ.

(But when I try to make the explanation easier on people....the indoctrination stops people from understanding.)

Christ in you is but a sample of a life that is found only as we seek to enter into Christ...to win Christ. THEN the Christ in you bursts out into our lives...overcoming all opposition.

The cost is ALL. Seek first the kingdom and His real righteousness.

well, my point was more that these might be better perceived as states and not literal places

God has not changed and made things easier.
True = God has not changed.

False = has not . . . made things easier.

Even when we were enemies, He has reconciled us to Himself.

Perfect obedience is no longer the standard by which we are saved, instead, faith in Jesus is.

And let's be real. No one has perfect obedience. Even those who think they do.

It always comes down to either what Jesus did, or what you do.

What He did was perfect. What any of us do is not.

Much love!
