it surely isThe ground floor is righteousness.
yehour understanding of the man-made construct of "saved"
could you rephrase here, epi, i got lost up at the beginning of the description of vain religion; "if only you will stop being humble?"It is vain religion that destroys righteousness...promising a future eternal life if only you will stop being humble and God-fearing and take on certain religious beliefs that promise eternal security. But it is a devil's bargain. God tests His people to see if they will embrace iniquity...to save their own lives. The truth sets us free from these lies.
deny himself, pick up his cross, and followis there some things in scripture we are to follow ?
yeh

BINGO exactly WE ALL WILL SIN sin of omission and commission . a true child of God knows how to take care of the problem 1 john 1:9.. isas teaching has been watered down through the years . there is security in our salvation.. butttt no place in scripture does it say you can do as you please and still make heaven i have yet to find the perfect Christian . yes there are those who do there very best to live the life . none of us have any excuse petr wrote he has Given us all things so for our sake we should take paul advice to timothy flee youthful lust follow /pursue righteousness . this post was not started to discuss can or can we not but does our righteousness exceed the pharisee and scribes
really ? so you obey %100 you never get mad and sin ? there is sin of omission ad sin of commission..james wrote to him who knows to do good and dont is a sin.. wow 1john 1:9 is for the christian the Bible does say strive to enter at the strait gate last i studied sin was sin but have it your way YOUR missing the point Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. nice to meet someone who doesn't sin. every thing written in the book is to the Christian back to righteousnessno, we will not all sin as you stated

no these are for every Christian we are to test the spiritsEverything is TO Christians, but not everything is ABOUT Christians. 1 John 1:6, 8 and 10 is actually about 1 John 4:1-3, the Gnostic teaching of the Nicolaitans.
Context can be the whole book.
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
hmmmmThere is no sin of omission if you are abiding in Christ. In Christ we are as He is in the world. We add sin into the mix when we mix ourselves with Christ. There can be no SELF in Christ. There is no mixture possible in holiness. Any mixture is outside of holiness. Any mixture with holiness is un-holiness.
Any self-effort just takes us farther away from Christ.
hmmmm
James 4:17 (ESV) sin of omission
17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin
romans 7 :
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
do you walk in perfect obedience never falling short never failing God . you need to do some backtracking peter had a very hard time with himself..at pentecost he got it right 3 thousand saved was it him ? nahhh Christ in him
look i dont really care how you believe sin is there sin is all around us we can be influenced by sin . i dont focus on the sin . nevertheless it was good post discussing righteousnessI don't know of any sin in Christ? Do you? In Him is no sin. That is our victory...enter into He who knew no sin and walk as He walked. How? By abiding in Him.
Too simple?

look in ways are beliefs vary i do believe in free will very much ..Christ never had sin .but was made for sin sacrifice that we might be the righteousness of Christ ..your asking me questions that there is no need to answer ............i more than understand why WOULD I believe there is sin in Christ ? all i ask is back to the topic .i have chased enough rabbitsBut you have not answered if you believe there is sin in Christ or not...and how important that is. Can we enter into Christ with sins?
Do you understand that the blood of Christ cleanses us from ALL sin?
Or do you think Jesus harbours sin in Him?
So then the key to being holy and perfect as God is...is to enter into Christ who knew no sin.
Do you deny the power and holiness of Christ?
Do you deny that we can actually enter into Him to partake of His holiness and power?
yes it is as it is a part of our righteousnessI am attempting to say that entire sanctification is an attainable goal
