If you can't then you are maintaining that the Holy Spirit left the Church in the dark for 1900 years (or whenever this noveau idea surfaced)
Those who believe what they read in the Bible are not left in the dark.

Others? I can't answer for.

Does everyone who comes to faith, who believes in Jesus, do they all get water baptized, and in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit?

The living water of Baptism is available to all who would receive it.

Why are you so averse to answering my questions?

This can be Yes, is can be No, it can be I don't know. What do you think is the true answer?

Do all who come to faith in Jesus get baptized into water?

Much love!

Hi @Philip James , Also, I don't want this one overlooked . . .

"Then this is wrong?

John 1:12-13 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

And this is wrong?

John 3:14-16 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Much love!

Nope, not wrong at all. Those who believe are indeed empowered to become children of God,

Peter (said) to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit.

Peace!

You search the scriptures, because you think you have eternal life through them; even they testify on my behalf.

But you do not want to come to me to have life.

Peace!

Let's look again . . .

John 1:12-13 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

As many as received Him . . . were born . . . of God.

Now, obviously, this is a condensed version. Does it rightly express a truth given in this passage?

God gave them the right to be born of Himself, and they were born of Him.

These have received Him, believing in His Name, and were born of God. There is no baptism taught in this passage, there is rebirth from God as a result of faith, and of receiving Jesus.

But you would say that this is not true of anyone who is not water baptized. Is that not so?

And does not the same apply with John 3:16? That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life? Not so . . . unless the believer is baptized?

Much love!

This is what you post to me? OK, so that's how it is.

This is what so often happens. People can't or won't answer my questions, and make it personal.

So be it.

Yep

Peace!

Then my dear friend you are wrong!!

I just posted in another thread how on movies and shows on TV we see Priests praying with unsaved people , on deathbeds , in hospitals , and on the battle fields , and assuring them that if they turn to God then He will receive them and give them peace. Are they lying then?

God is greater than water ...which is just a symbol.

?? Touchy one are you? What questions have I not answered?

That post directly refuted your assertion that "Those who believe what they read in the Bible are not left in the dark."

Because clearly they are unless they act on that belief and come to Him!

Peace!

Let's go with this one.

Do all who believe in Jesus get water baptized?

But then, in all reality, for you, faith in Christ does not save. Faith in Christ + water baptism + et. al. saves.

But it is by grace, so that it can be by faith, so that everyone can be saved.

Much love!

And this is how we receive Him:

Let the one who thirsts come forward, and the one who wants it receive the gift of life-giving water

Peace!
That would be your teaching, I know.

If you want Jesus, see your nearest priest. Oh. That would be Jesus!

:)

Hello Helen,
I love you and your big heart that wishes all men to be saved. I share that desire.

What is the difference between one who wishes to be reconciled to God but is , due to circumstance, unable to recieve baptism,
And one who, knowing that baptism is the means by which one is born into new life, refuses to receive the living water?

It is the difference between begging for Christ's mercy and that of presuming on His mercy and rejecting the means of obtaining it.

If the waters of batism are 'just a symbol" then we have a form of religion but deny its power....

A saint (i forget which one) once said:

'those things we desire in our heart to do, in God's eyes its as if we have already done them... Good or bad'

In any case I will hope in the love and mercy of Jesus Christ and am confident that the ONE who knows our hearts, will not dissapoint any who put their hope in Him!

Peace be with you!

That's not an answer. This is actually avoiding the question I've asked.

I did not ask if water baptism is available, I've asked if all who come to faith in Jesus are actually water baptized.

I'm pretty sure the answer is, no, they aren't. My father in law, who received Jesus in his mid-70's, nearly on his deathbed (3 weeks before) was not water baptized. But according to what he said to me, he did receive.

We'll all find out together if he really did go to be with Jesus when he died. But I already know. Even in that short time, he was a changed man. And so many ways did God confirm to my wife and I that it was real.

You've shut the door to him. But thankfully Jesus left it open!

Much love!
