As many are probably aware, the Democrats have a host of very poor candidates lined up for the 2020 Presidential election in the United States; old, tired insiders who will excite no one, and who will likely be soundly defeated by Trump in his quest for a second term.

But they have one candidate lurking in the shadows that would not only present very real problems for Donald Trump politically, but who would also paint his entire conservative Christian base in a very bad light, given that he claims the moral high ground.

I'm talking specifically about Pete Buttigieg, who is not only a practicing and avowed homosexual but loudly proclaims he is a Christian, and that homosexuality is condoned by scripture. He is currently the Democratic front-runner in some states, and is likely to gain momentum in the coming months, given the incredibly poor competition he is running against for the Democratic nomination.

If he gets nominated, can you imagine the hatred that will be generated by the liberal media towards conservative Christian supporters of Trump, i.e. those who stand on the Biblical assertion that homosexuality is a sin? And what would a Buttigieg nomination force Trump to do? How would he respond to someone over the issue of homosexuality? Someone who was claiming higher moral ground, and that Trump's form of "Christianity" is bigoted and homophobic? No small wonder that as much of prolific Twitter-maniac as Trump can be, he has said not a single WORD about Pete Buttigieg. Probably because he knows a real threat when he sees one, and does not want to draw attention. The younger generations would just eat up the idea of playing a part in electing the nation's first homosexual President, and I've heard even some Christian young people are behind him as well.

Time will tell, but if Buttigieg sticks around, there's always 2024 too, and his potential nomination could lead to some bad things, including:

1. The promotion of homosexual "Christianity" on a national scale, through a charismatic leader. As we were discussing in a thread about David Wilkerson's vision in 1973 (see my thread on it), homosexual "Christianity" is predicted to eventually become widespread in the United States, with homosexual churches being established in nearly every city in the country.

2. Increased hatred for and public vilification of conservative Christians.

3. Increased divisiveness in society, as Satan uses many, including many Christians, to fan the flames of strife over the debate of whether homosexuality is a sin or not.

Too busy to give a lot of replies right now, but I will tag a few people who might be interested in it.

The man and his message:
Why Pete Buttigieg Is The Most Destructive Candidate For Christianity

On a pet topic, and when you've already told me a few times you don't really want a discourse, well, I'm not that interested, but thank you for thinking of me!

Much love!

Marks, as you very well know, I spent 20 pages discussing it with you.
If that qualifies as "not really wanting to discuss it" with you then forgive me for sinning against you.

And I already mentioned that I don't have the time to respond, let alone to snitty little remarks like this.
Maybe all this whining about "nobody ever wants to discourse with me" becomes a self-fulfilled prophecy in your case because of your attitude, marks. Ever thought of that?

Spare me the histrionics please.

You obviously don't like me questioning your conclusions.

"nobody ever wants to discourse with me boo hoo!" Yeah right.

Btw, since you insisted on posting anyway, your "Much Love!" tag is pure hypocrisy when it comes to people who don't agree with you. Try living it if you're going to post it.

Purely mischaracterization. More personal onslaught. Have you considered why you feel this to be important to do?

@Hidden In Him ,

Do you know why I engage with you in discussion?

Mark

Whatever the motives are, its doesn't appear as if it's working out too well for us, LoL. :)

Always good to laugh. In hindsight, maybe I shouldn't have invited you to this thread. You were responding to me in the other one and I knew if I got involved in that one again it would just end up in endless debate once more (which I seriously have absolutely no time for right now). So I thought maybe we might see more eye to eye on a political topic, but I think I should have just left things alone.

Like I said, you like very long, drawn out conversations pretty much no matter what the topic, and I just don't have the time right now.

My apologies for the confusion. I think I'm responsible for this one, so my bad.

God bless, and have a great day!

Frankly, I think the whole mess of them is frightening.

Not me so much, Willie. I don't think crazy Joe Biden stands a chance, nor any of the other ones they appear to be presenting as front runners. They're still the swamp and all, but as far as making a serious run at the Presidency... Not enough juice.

Possibly more frightening is Trumps inability to coherently frame an appropriate answer to the challenges.

Perhaps we should pray that the Republicans will choose a candidate who is better equipped to oppose Buttigieg. It seems unlikely that they will choose someone other than Trump but with God all things are possible.

You should check the current polls in the swing states. Those polls will change; but if the election were held today, Biden would win most of the swing states. Buttigieg does less well than Biden in them, losing four states Biden would win (by the current polls); but he would also win.

Trump has a huge popularity problem. For a first-term President in his third year, he's the least popular President since the polls got started in the 1950s. Check the polls, and then see where Trump is going for rallies. He's in trouble in most of those states. I'd be willing to bet $500 right now that he'll lose Pennsylvania. He won it by a handful of votes last time -- don't count on that again. Republicans here (I live in Pennsylvania) are so scared they changed the voting law so we can't vote straight ticket. The Republicans are thinking too many people who will vote against Trump might vote a straight Democratic ticket, making them lose along with him.

He's turned off too many independent voters. What both parties seem to be missing is that nationally 40% of people are Democrats, 30% are Republicans (and that number keeps going down), and 30% are independents. Lots of independents voted for Trump in 2016. Trump continues to be wildly popular among Republicans who voted for him; but the independents haven't been impressed.

You can talk about the Democrats being the swamp; but Trump's pals are the ones going to prison. . . .

The best hope Trump may have is if the Democrats nominate someone to the far left, someone like Bernie Sanders. He may be popular with Democrats; but I think most independents find him too extreme. They might not like Trump, but they might dislike Sanders even more.

Increased divisiveness in society, as Satan uses many, including many Christians, to fan the flames of strife over the debate of whether homosexuality is a sin or not.
You seem to be fanning the "flames of strife" already. It's not as if everyone in the US will turn gay if we had a gay President. It's not as if heterosexual marriage will be banned. It's not as if heterosexuals will be jailed for being heterosexuals.

I don't know anyone I think would suddenly turn gay if Buttigieg was elected. Do you?

LoL. What I mean is, he would be stuck. It would force him into a corner if the question took front and center. He would look bad in the eyes of most non-Christian citizens in the US if he opposed homosexuality, but lose many of his Christian conservative base if he embraced it, and acknowledged it to be acceptable by Buttigieg's "Christian" standards.

Like Pence? Good man, but is he aggressive enough is the question. Trump won because he can play hard ball. Pence would get overwhelmed, imo.

But prayer never hurts. That part of your response I definitely agree with : )

You could be correct about this.
You can talk about the Democrats being the swamp; but Trump's pals are the ones going to prison. . . .

That's because he took on the swamp, and as I expected when he was so flippantly talking about cleaning it up during the election, the swamp is still eating him alive, LoL. Nothing but prayer, and I mean mountains of it, decades upon decades of it, could clean up the corruption in Washington. Only God could do it. With man it would be impossible.
The best hope Trump may have is if the Democrats nominate someone to the far left, someone like Bernie Sanders. He may be popular with Democrats; but I think most independents find him too extreme. They might not like Trump, but they might dislike Sanders even more.

Again, you may be correct here. Time will tell.
You seem to be fanning the "flames of strife" already.

What, because I'm drawing attention to it? Come on now, Giuliano, LoL. I posted it on a Christian forum, with a membership that's largely conservative. It's not intended to start strife with people I know would vehemently despise what I'm saying. That would be a different thing.

I believe you have missed the point, LoL. But no biggie. I don't have time to go round and round.

But thanks for the post. There are parts of it that I think have some genuine merit.

God bless!

I see Trump as corrupt as anyone else, maybe more. The convictions of people around him also suggest he's more than willing to tolerate corruption if it benefits him.

It looks to me as if you're trying to rally the troops to prepare them to go on the attack if Buttigieg is the nominee. The title of the thread seems mean to inspire fear. Should Christianity or any religion be used to stir up people's emotions?

If he gets nominated, can you imagine the hatred that will be generated by the liberal media towards conservative Christian supporters of Trump, i.e. those who stand on the Biblical assertion that homosexuality is a sin?

If "conservative Christian supporters" attack Buttigieg because he's gay, you can be sure that will be pointed out by the "liberal media." I'm sure they'll point out that Donald Trump is no saint himself when it comes to sex, yet he's adored by the same people who are afraid of Buttigieg.

What's up with that anyway? Sexual sins are okay if they're heterosexual ones? We should vote for any heterosexual if he's running against a homosexual? Is that the only thing that matters?

No, no. Misreading me. Presidents come and Presidents go. I'm not even political really. The thread is a warning of what the church may be in for in the future if Buttigieg gets the nomination. The end result of all the strife that ensues will be that conservative Christians are hated all that much more in society. But concerning that, yes. The church will have to prepare, because it is a fight we cannot run from. Those not willing to stand for scripture and Biblical standards of righteousness will stand accountable before God for it.
If "conservative Christian supporters" attack Buttigieg because he's gay,

What's with all this "attacking" business? Not what I'm saying, Giuliano.

I may have to just let it go here, cuz we don't seem to be understanding one another, but the trouble with Buttigieg is that he bases his policies on being an avowed Christian, and defends his homosexual marriage as an acceptable part of the true Christian faith. It would be like if Trump or some other Candidate openly proclaimed that adulterous affairs were acceptable within Christianity, and he was living it out proudly before the world as an example.

Different thing.

If conservative Christians want to impose their views on non-Christians or on liberal Christians, they can expect push-back. I'm beginning to detest some "conservative Christian leaders" myself for their outlandish views like the guy who said Trump should be meaner.

Those are his beliefs. I don't think he wants to impose them on other people. The people who get loud and want to impose their beliefs on others are losing influence -- they're increasingly seen as hateful.
