If Adam and Eve were True Human Beings, before sin dominated them, then what exactly is a True Human Being?

What is it like to be a True Human Being?

I don't quite understand the question, as Adam & Eve remained human beings before, during and after the fall. Which is, having the image of God within them, that no other creature on earth has. They sinned prior to eating the fruit, that is, the desire was always there, thus both the temptation to sin, and to do good, is part of being a human. This is why God pronounced the curse upon them, as they should've known better and had the ability to avoid the seduction.
But, even still, nothing changed after the fall, they remained human beings, as the Bible states several times after the fall that man is still created in his image. When Adam begot Seth, it is written that Seth was created in his image, which we know that Adam was created in God's image. During the time of Noah, God established capital punishment to anyone who kills another human, because man is created in his image.
The only constitutional change that took place after the fall, as far as man was concerned, was that they gained knowledge in regard to good and evil And that the woman would have difficulty in child bearing and her desire will be for her husband.
So, to be human, is to be an earthly creature, mammal, endowed with both the image of God, and free will, which allows each man to seek God on his own, and come to him as much as his desire allows.

There is a difference between before and after sin of Adam and Eve. Before, they were innocent and fearless; afterwards they were aware of their nakedness (exposed and vulnerable to judgement by God), so they hid themselves from the Truth / God. Fear of the Truth was born, and all our fears come from fear of the truth, but as we already know, the truth will set us free (from our fears). So, Adam and Eve became fear-based instead of a truth-based humans; and this world is full of fear-based humans.

So, what birthed the fear of the Truth, and is still fearful of the truth in all of us? Is it not our false-self that creates and harbors all our fears? Is it not this self-distortion of the truth (of the Being) which disqualifies us from being a True Human Being?

Matthew 10:39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

If we lose our life as a false-self for the sake of Truth, we will find a life as a true-self (aka inner being / God's spirit) based on Truth.

So, what is it like to be a True Human Being?

I don't agree at all Invisibilis, for first of all, the Bible states that after eating the fruit, 'man has become like us, knowing good & evil'. Thus, they did, as the devil said, became like God. God is not fear-based, but also, nor does God plant a tree that makes people fear-based. Why would he do such a thing, - having a corrupt or imperfect creation in his garden?
But, the devil knew that endowing these creatures with the advanced knowledge of good & evil, would destroy them. Similar to giving a porn magazine to a child, who doesn't understand the ramifications of indulging in such depravity, he will lose control and become despicable.
I'm not 100% sure why Adam & Eve hid, but I would say that it was due to an implication of gaining such knowledge, not because the fruit gave them an inexplicable fear. That is, they probably saw the potential for lust and depravity that the nudity offered, and hid due to their own guilty thoughts, not because there is anything shameful simply about being naked. For again, mature knowledge in the hands of children, is extremely precarious, and typically leads to their destruction.
Either way, God states that they became like himself, so therefore, they did not become weak or fearful, and we trust that God did not create a tree that corrupts humans who eat of its fruit.

we forget, but there was a time when we did not recognize our "selves" in a mirror; that comes at about eighteen months i guess. Little children maybe embody what is it?

So what is it like to be transformed into a true Human Being?
According to Scripture a true human being is (a) a child of God, (b) indwelt by the Holy Spirit, (3) walking in the Spirit sacrificially, and (4) showing the love of God and Christ to others. Study the apostle Paul.

They gained knowledge of good and evil....how can you know what is good without having the knowledge of what evil is? How can you measure the darkness without the light? How can we describe up if there is no down?

I don't think it was the "fear" of truth that was born but rather the knowledge that they had become evil through their disobedience....

As a young Christian I literally took the scripture the "Fear of the Lord" to mean real fear....scared to death of His judgment....fearing going to hell if I committed any sin....fear of getting a good spanking (LOL)....and I would have nightmares of going to hell....literally.

Fear is the opposite of faith so it is a seed that Satan planted at the time of disobedience.....but here is another contrast of positive vs negative....how can one be assured they have faith unless they have overcome fear?

Psalm 111 speaks of reverential fear. Naturally, the awesome God of glory judges the unrepentant.

Here is the origin of the word human....
human (adj.)
mid-15c., humain, humaigne, "human," from Old French humain, umain: (adj.) - "of or belonging to man"
(12c.), from Latin humanus : "of man, human,"
(dh)ghomon: literally "earthling, earthly being," as opposed to the gods (from root *dhghem- "earth"), but there is no settled explanation of the sound changes involved.
Compare Hebrew adam "man," from adamah "ground."
Cognate with Old Lithuanian žmuo (accusative žmuni) "man, male person."

Bottom Line: These ROOT-WORDS are HUM & HUMAN which come from the Latin humus, meaning EARTH & GROUND and the Latin humanus which means MAN. It is interesting to follow the changes of idea here. It begins with HUMus, earth, then becomes HUMble, lowly; finally to HUMAN, Man. But we must never forget the origin of man; “Dust thou art and to dust thou must return."

So if we believe scripture which says God created us from the dust of the earth then everyone is a true human being.

God gave us the power to make choices.
As soon as we choose to be dishonest, our consciousness has stopped being honest and sees dishonesty, and ceases to know itself as a Being. Our connect to God was broken by our dishonesty; and we know that God knows.

Does one first must know evil to know what good is, or know what good is before knowing what is evil. Which came first. Does everything have to have its opposite to know what it is. Did Jesus have to be evil before being good. Since when does a tree need to bear bad fruit before it bear good fruit. Does not our inner Being, the spirit of God, within us already know what truth (good) is. Truth does not mingle with the untrue to know itself as being true. Truth is obvious and doubtless, it simply is, by God's will. As soon as doubt creeps in, one knows they are playing god, or trying to play truth in an untruthful way.

Fear is evil, and evil is fearful of the truth. Evil sows fear into a person in the hope that they will 'take the bait' and become fearful themselves. Why, because evil has no source of internal energy from Truth / spirit of God (without it there is no life). Evil has to feed of others to survive. Those who become fearful get tense and in that state of unrest they waste their life energy on what they fear, on what is unreal. Evil feeds off this wasted energy. Example, someone gets a kick out of putting someone down.

One must first have faith (the love of Truth) before overcoming fear. The fear of God is what an untrue human being experiences when coming close to God / Truth. They fear the truth. They know that their truth of falsehoods will be exposed and feel vulnerable to being judged. That is why repentance is so powerful, because it is a choice we can make to fearlessly judge our self and admit our imperfections to God before God does. The 'love of Truth' empowers us to sacrifice everything we made ourselves to be. We rather love what is true than our false-self. This honest surrender of self is unconditional faith. Without it, our so-called faith remains conditional and won't work.

Yes, human comes from humus (earth) man (organism birthed by humus (dust to dust / atoms)).

Human being, refers to God's spirit (which is formless on its own) being formed in a human organism.

Many a Word has been distorted by this distorted world we live in; such as being a some-body instead of being a no-body. The truly humble and meek (the last) are no-bodies, they are spirits of God (the first).
Matthew 19:30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

I think that you went outside the Bible with your conclusion '...our consciousness has stopped being honest and sees dishonesty, and ceases to know itself as a Being'.
This is some metaphysical conjecture. I'm fully aware that I am a human, as do you. For if you didn't, how in the world could you even pose the question as your OP? What criteria would determine what response was correct or not?
I hope that by the end of this, you're going to offer your opinion of what it is to be truly human, because for the life of me, I can't imagine what type of answer would be sufficient to such an esoteric question?
