You got the "politically correct", totally false motives story.

And opposed to truth, contrary to God's Word, in every way by the system
that the world relies on and trusts.

I got the real mistakes and real lessons we need to learn, it is called science, it structures and governs our lives, runs our hospitals, distributes food and provides us with the internet, our work, our knowledge and our future. Science is pragmatic, it finds out what works, and builds on that. It does not claim more than can be shown to be true, as far as that reasonably goes.

There are many who do not understand how 7 billion people can live on the planet today, but this is why. We have tamed disease, hunger, poverty and protected ourselves from the climate and disasters of famine and storms, earth quakes and floods. Peace has come to reign in the nations except where Islam rules, which is continually in a civil war with itself and those foolish enough to be governed by it.

Every 10 years or so our knowledge doubles. We know so much no one can grasp it all, not even close. So in this world of complexity and overwhelming power, opportunity and knowledge you want to talk about conspiracy and control. It shows how little you understand how the world has changed and is changing and how much is at our doorstep to share in Christ and His ways in life and love which rule the Kingdom of God.

NAR - new apostolic reformation - they are a loose association of latter rain believers who feel the church is growing to rule the world to usher in the millennium reign of Christ.

Bethel who have links in australia with a group who are going to new age festivals with a "christian" version of tarot cards to be able to bring Holy Spirit led prophecies of peoples future. There ideas go the enemy just uses spirituality for evil purposes so spirit led believers can do the same but for good purposes. Sounds to me a bit like white magic, except this is all banned by God.

It all came to a head with Todd Bentley and the florida revival meetings. He pushed angels with wealth being given out to believers and odd healing sessions. The NAR leaders came to anoint Todd in his ministry, and then discovered he was having an affair with a woman from his ministry team.

The more ridiculous claims coming from this group the more I become cynical over everything they do. Angel dust, jewels, golden crowns in teeth, leg lengthening without the core gospel message of repentance from sin, walking in the ways of Jesus and loving our fellow people. How about hearing from dead believers how there old friends are a blessing to them through a prophet, which is another way of saying a medium speaking to spirits with messages for the living. So this group are really doing things that are of the Holy Spirit and encouraging?

A group with no links to this pit, sharing holiness, purity and hope who the Lord is healing through as needs arise, Amen, but not this.

Not having heard anything like this about them, I will take it under advisement until I can find evidence for what you claim. I know the pastor personally for this church in Australia and he is not any of the things that you said he is. The church grew from nothing to hundreds because of his passion for the lost. How many churches can claim that? Most of them are losing members not gaining them.

As for leg lengthening, been doing that for years. You don't need to do it with a gospel message if the person is a believer. All you need is faith which I have found has worked every time except for one. What is your experience of praying for someone's leg to lengthen?

Is there a plague of one leg of a different length to the other?
My mother fell and damaged her hip. She has broken one in the past. We tried to check if they were the same length and it was obvious it is hard to tell. You need to measure from hip to foot separately and compare.

Self deception is simple, just hold legs one way and rotate and shift slightly, it appears things change. This is delusion. Praying for pain, likewise, pain changes with persuasion and mood.

I will say amen to someone bringing folk to love Jesus and walk in His ways, Amen.

Emotions are powerful things and suggestion causes some very unusual behaviours. For me we are a people of love and change within through Jesus, not the miraculous and fake show of healing that is just wishful thinking.

I have been a part of a fellowship with great faith, many cancers and much death. Being taken home is not evil we need to submit, saying everything is a battle is wrong and deluded. We bow and commit to the Lord, and His way comes to pass.

So many young people in enthusiasm claim the skies to discover God does not give it. People die defeated, undone, the enemy victorious.

But God calls, we answer, His servants. God bless you.

You make a good point. Churches vary, with differing emphasis etc. I have learnt being aware of the movements, their issues and successes means we can walk in faith, knowing the blessing of God and avoiding the heresy.

So a brother prays about open heaven, angels, binding territorial demons, but loves Jesus and walks in purity and holiness, amen.

Our walk is our life, and the love that beats there. It is why seeing people and not the noise matters. God bless you.

I had to go back and read the title of the thread....started thinking I was in the wrong one....let's get back on topic for those who care to.
Here is a testimony I will share.
In 1985 I worked as a salesperson for a company selling membership to wholesale buying. It was based in Stillwater (where I lived at the time)....we would meet on Monday mornings for strategy and sales updates....then we headed to Tulsa (our market point at that time).
We would stay in a hotel and start delivering brochures door to door and wait for people to call and set up appointments to look into purchasing it.
We would check out on Friday and head back home.
On one Friday as I was driving home listening to praise and worship God spoke to me and said..."Patty I want you to move to Tulsa"....
I said "Father I hate Tulsa, I really don't want to move there".....no reply....I waited a little longer....still no reply....then finally I said "if you want me to move to Tulsa then you have to provide the way because I can't afford it.....but I will be obedient if you supply the way".
The following Monday we met as usual for the Monday meeting....after the meeting the boss called me into the office and asked "patty how would you like to move to Tulsa and help set up a division office there?"
:eek::rolleyes::)
I said "Well that would be great but I can't afford the cost of moving"
He said "The company will pay for everything....not one penny will come out of your pocket".
So I moved and God blessed me beyond I could ever imagine. Obedience to His voice is key to success in all our ways.

I should also bring this up, it could be something as simple as I don't know where I put this tool in the workshop, and I haven't done enough of this in the past, but if you ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, He will direct you to the right spot.

God is Amazing. :D
So true! Whenever I realize I've mislaid something, or can't remember where it is, I ask God to show me where it is.

He is very amazing!

Thinking about this a little more . . .

How is it that God speaks to me to show me what I need? I just know where to look.

Same thing happens with the Bible. I can ask Him where something is, or, more intriguing, where to find an answer to something I'm wondering about, and I'll know where to look.

So He simply puts the knowing there. No fanfare or fireworks, just the need met.

Much love!

Amen, I lose things or forget where I put things and I will ask the Holy Spirit....Holy Spirit you said you will bring things to my remebrance....does this count?:)
Cause I can't remember where I put it....then I suddenly remember....I can't prove it was the Holy Spirit or not but I tend to want to believe it was.

The New Testament is full of the supernatural and nowhere does it say that it is a figment of the imagination today.

This comment is arrogant in the extreme bearing in mind that you believe that the supernatural is bunkum and which clearly shows you are the one that is deluded. Until you can prove that people's legs did not lengthen, I suggest you keep your wacky ideas to your self. People like you seem to have an answer for everything to enable you to rubbish the supernatural and to keep God out of the picture.

When you are as old as I am and as forgetful as I am that is a lifesaver. Anyone seen the keys to my car???

I recommend reading through the Bible, at least once, and have continued exposure to it going forward.

Jesus promised,
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things, and
bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
" John 14:26 NKJV

What happened to me early in my walk was the Holy Spirit would remind me of verses from different parts of the Bible (in context) and bundle them together to convey an idea, teaching, direction, etc.

That process became more casual over time.

I have a dilemma. I had a vision, and this vision authenticates me as the gate keeper to heaven, because I have the higher way that others merely dreamed of, they spoke through a glass darkly I speak because I have seen and see daily.

Now imagine I have this experience, no lsd, no obvious reason but this thing happens. How do I know it is from God and I am not just going nuts?
I would want confirmation from others that I am speaking from Jesus and scripture, that the whole revelation of God confirms my position.
I would then want to see how many others had similar experiences and what happened to them.

And I will discover man and pride wants so badly to be the prophet, the gate keeper, the revealer, and these revelations often lead to me having a few extra wives, breaking normal social boundaries, power and absolute authority were to disagree with me is to disagree with God, and if I go too far, something rather fatal occurs.

What grounds me in Christ is what the apostles said.

11 Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,
12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
1 Thess 4:11-12

15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
1 Peter 3:15-16

Almost without fail false prophets and teachers condemn what went before as evil, empty, nothingness, and they are the fountain of truth alone or their group, and everything else is just a distortion, brain washing that the deluded follow. And for those disallusioned and despairing this sounds very attractive, except when the faith goes from the individual to the authority figure, because then boundaries can be crossed and things go from promise to exploitation.

Sadly the initial trigger may well be something real, ie a vision or dream, but its meaning is as random as the mind sometimes.
Let us list a few. Mohammed Muslims, Joseph Smith LDS, Charles Taze Russell JW.
These are the most successful, there have been thousands of others. Some say they are Jesus, some a prophet, some a priest all find some deeper meaning in the texts that others have missed, or a new revelation from an angel etc.

Paul himself feared he was in error.

2 I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. But I did this privately to those who seemed to be leaders, for fear that I was running or had run my race in vain.
Gal 2:2

Paul founded his whole ministry on a vision, confirmed by prophets, and anointed by the church. So there is nothing wrong with visions held in unity with Gods word and His people.

cynicism is when you doubt something for no reason other than bias. When the world is full of deceivers, liars and frauds who do exactly what is being described, it is wise to want something more than just faith that people are telling the truth. It is fact that too often when evidence is asked for none is provided, none.

As a scientist and business analyst only truth matters, and finding it is the passion. And ironically what that truth is is irrelevant, it just must be true. Doubting Thomas was doubting because he knew how excited people get over claimed things, when investigated are something else.

A believer was interviewed about golden crowns given by God on their teeth. They claimed God had given them even though they knew it was the dentist. This is just delusional projection of what is hoped for, not what is actually going on. And I have had brothers and sisters in Christ who are this nuts, because they want so much to see God move, they will make up something to create the response.

Some even admit they actively create environments to create this feeling even though it is not true, because the feeling is what matters.
Preachers have made money from deceptions such as these and see it is their career to fake such things for the easily miss-led.

One enterprising beggar, knew a church that prayed for people to be healed. So they waited for the believer to come, play acted a problem and healing and then faked conversion and finally asked for some money. So they got what they wanted, money, and the believer got what they wanted, a miracle. Naive people do not see the money flowing can be a lot more powerful than the truth being declared for a celebrity preacher. They may even believe what they are doing because the testimonies declare something has happened even though it is just wishful thinking.

Does it matter if lies lead to faith and trust? Yes, because the faith and trust are false.

Proof? I can't offer proof. All I can say is, I've learned Who to ask. It's like, after a while, the preponderance of evidence gives a clue.

I remember one time my friend looking for her keys, at her wit's end. I remember telling her to not worry, she's going to find them, maybe under this sofa cushion. She looked at me, looked at the sofa, pulled up the cushion, picked up her key.

I can look for something for hours, wrack my mind trying to figure it out, then ask God, and know the next moment. I don't have proof, but I believe.

Much love!
