Try to guess your three possible answers? No thank you. If you care to share, terrific. Otherwise, OK.

I've got two items on the table still.

One is that while an angel in Revelation demurred to receive worship from John, Jesus did not demur from receiving worship from Thomas. I think that if Jesus were not God Himself, that was unacceptably remiss of Him.

The other is that if God created Jesus, and that this was His first creation, then God Who loves the Son didn't love the Son before that, because the Son didn't exist. So the God who is love, well, frankly, wasn't. There was no one to love. This would be a God Who changed.

Much love!
I think it would be wise at this point to leave this discussion because your first statement in this response is was I have been speaking of all the time and I want to know if you are referring to the the verse concerning Thomas when he said my Lord and (my) god (God)?... it was that simple and you have somehow made a meal of not answering me again...

..and I never said that Yahshua was the first creation of YHWH..I would think his angel came first..just saying..

So, peace out and stay in the love of YHWH...APAK ...over and out

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that was in question.

But as you wish.
The simple answers are that if an angel wouldn't let John worship said angel because the angel wasn't God, then clearly Jesus received Thomas' worship because He is God.

And God does not change, He has always loved the Son. Because the Son has always been there to love. Yes, the Messenger of YHWH.

Much love!

So Amadeus, it appears that you have joined the naysayers in questioning whether Jesus is God, and whether a sinner must believe that He is God in order to be saved. I have always assumed that you are a genuine believer, therefore your question above is frankly shocking.

Naysayer? Joined? On these things I have not recently joined anyone. I believe I have clearly expressed on this forum before where I am on these issues more than once over the years I have been here. I don't believe that I have changed noticeably on this issue in a long time.

What is faith my friend other than "... the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"?

What have I seen with the spiritual eye? I have talked with lots of people on Internet forums for the past 20 years and with others long before there were Christian Internet forums. I have talked with God and prayed on it over the years. I have also studied on it. I do believe that Jesus is God, but not as many others do. I do not insist a person believe what I believe. I would rather they believe what God has showed them.

I am looking still for whatever God wants me to see on this and other things. I am still solidly sold on Matt 6:33.

I believe what God has impressed on my heart to believe. As to salvation, as I have emphasized more than once, salvation is simply a reward God's promised to men who call upon his name [Acts 2:21]. What does it mean to call on His name? What does it mean to be in His name? What is His name? Just think on those things. I am full of questions and God has all of the answers. How many do we need?

Do you want one Scripture text or do you want the whole tenor of the Bible? The whole tenor of the Bible says that Jesus is God (equal to the Father and the Holy Spirit) who became Man to die for our sins. Unless He is God He could not possibly take away the sins of the whole world. So anyone who says that he/she believes on the Lord Jesus Christ but does NOT believe that He is God is simply fooling himself/herself.
I have read and reread the whole of the Bible numerous times over the years and continue to read it daily 7 days a week. What verse will you give that someone has not given me before on this. There have been more than a few. Some have sincerely wanted to help, but some only wanted to show someone what they knew.

Some have said that it is important to know. God has shown me that it is important to know some things, but that is not one of them... not in the sense that you mean it for salvation's sake. I am not seeking salvation. I seeking the kingdom and righteousness of God and letting Him add to that and He has... He has saved me many times and I thank Him for each one.

Now I will give you JUST ONE Scripture to firmly establish that Jesus is indeed God who shed His blood for our redemption, and both the Critical Text as well as the Received Text say the same thing (so there is no dispute about the authenticity of this verse).

ACTS 20:28: GOD SHED HIS BLOOD FOR OUR REDEMPTION
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the Church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood.

CRITICAL TEXT

RECEIVED TEXT

Who shed His blood on the cross? Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. But the Holy Spirit tells us through Paul that that was the blood of God. So do you or do you not believe that Jesus is God?
Is this a test God gives? Didn't I already answer your questions? Why do people insist on pushing? Either God gives the increase or it doesn't happen!

What was shed on Pentecost as per Acts 2? What is the difference between that and what was shed on Calvary? Is this question more important than your final question?

To @APAK and @DNB and cohorts,

Luke 17:11-19 stands as evidence, if not proof, that Jesus is God.

I knew from the getgo that you would have some kind of alternate interpretation that denies this truth.

But I just wanted to present it as one more piece of evidence that might be the final straw against your resistance to the truth.

Did you forget to read post #341 on this subject? Is this the twilight zone where time and posts/previous comments get lost/forgotten or something else?

If this is your truth concerning Luke 17:11-19 then you are well-indoctrinated into the school of surface scratching, cherry-picking and reading into scripture. If you are so adamant in telling all you have the truth on this subject I bet you cannot wait to write a decent commentary on it. I would like to read it.

Blessings, in Christ always

I'm certain that you can't find the word "Bible" anywhere in the Bible. So the Bible must not even pertain to real Christianity.

It's alright...I forgive you (for all of your insults).

No, you didn't make me angry...you basically forced the issue so that it would be less foolish to defend myself by boasting than it would be to not boast.

And the foolishness of boasting is not necessarily a sin...Paul did it in 2 Corinthians 11.

That is a good point.

I would still say that if anyone is truly born again, they will not ever reject the doctrine of Christ's Deity.

If, by the time they die, they have not yet come across John 1:1-3,14 as a believer, I would be very surprised.

But if they have come across it and reject its message, they can only do so if they reject the plenary inspiration of scripture. And if they do that, they cannot be true Christians (of the born again type). And only those who are born again will inherit the kingdom of God (see John 3:3).

It's okay bro... I have achieved what I had set out to do with some extra interesting results as a bonus. People can read back and work it out for themselves. It was nice too talk with. Till you make another erroneous statement that catches my eye! :):cool::p:D:eek:o_O:rolleyes::oops::) later...

Pro 30:7, Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
Pro 30:8, Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
Pro 30:9, Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

The truth of God's word (John 17:17).

I would ask you the same question.

There is in fact such a thing as absolute truth. We can know all things through the unction and anointing of the Holy Ghost. If we are ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth, that is a bad thing according to scripture.
I did not intend for you to answer my questions, but thank you for the effort. Have you then received all the knowledge of the Truth that there is? Don't answer that question. Just consider it!

Of course there is absolute truth. God has it. How much of it does He share with us. Any part He really shares is absolute, but do not people mix up the truth they have with the beliefs they have? Isn't this why so many people who really believe in God and really strive to serve Him disagree with other believers so much of the time? Where in this mess of disagreements is the Body of Christ?

I'll be sure to call your next sincere teaching erroneous too.

Why don't you want me to answer the question? Because you know what the answer will be?

I am going to answer it anyway, but with Proverbs 12:23 in mind:

1 John 2:20 is written to me.

I know that certain tidbits of information escape my grasp.

However, when it comes to discerning truth, the unction of the holy one leads me and guides me into all truth.

@Angelina I have found you to be rather abrasive.

I hope that you will consider what it says in Matthew 7:16, Luke 6:44, and Hebrews 6:7-8.

I believe that this is what the Holy Spirit gave to me for you. ;).

My questions were for thoughtful and prayerful consideration. You want to vocalize what you think that is up to you. We are still not connecting in any case. I am not talking about disagreements that are apparent to any reader but about lack of communication because of too many different understandings of too many words or concepts.

On your last sentence: This is as per the scripture, but we are not led into all truth at any time for any reason. What God wants us to do according to His will and what is needed to accomplish that will makes a difference in what He gives to us a moment or situation. The answer to the same question is not always the same.

Still wanting to engage with me bro... thought you'd be tired of the whooping by now. ;);)
Makes perfect sense.

You're trying to "whoop" me.

Probably didn't even read the scripture references, either; otherwise your last post would have been different.

Galatians 5:15 in implementation.

See also Proverbs 18:13.

Yes, we are all at different levels of understanding. I would just say that if you find someone who claims to know the truth attempting to proclaim to you that truth, that you do not discard his words out of hand. The fact that he claims to know the truth doesn't mean that he cannot possibly have it.

You should consider everything with prayer.

Especially if the person who is bringing you the information is declaring it as truth.

That is an extra-special reason why you should deeply consider what he is saying.
