That's a swing district. For years it was held by Republicans. Katie Hill managed to win as a Democrat but didn't last long. That district is also 35% Hispanic, perhaps that helped Garcia. The Republican Party needs more Latinos, I think.

Sure seems like it. They are continually obsessed with her. They seem unable to get over the fact that she lost. In a way I get it. It's a lot harder to oppose someone like Joe Biden. But that's what they've got. Trump used to call him "Middle Class Joe", until he realized that most Americans thought of it as praise. Then he tried "sleepy Joe", until people started filling up You Tube with videos of Trump sundowning, holding a water glass like a two-year old, and forgetting what Rudy Giuliani looked like.

Then he tried "Ukraine Joe", and that got him impeached. I get why he'd rather run against someone other than Joe.
