This brings up another point. This crown that the rider has is the stephanos, the victory wreath, not the diadem, or ruler's crown. I don't know if "corona" makes that distinction or not. I've always thought of it as "ruler's crown", but I don't know that language. Why are we taking this from a Spanish word anyway?

Much love!

Marks, you are so obtuse, LoL. You get upset when I "don't want to discuss" things with you, but whenever I do talk to you about things it's often like talking to a brick wall, LoL.

No offense, but I just have to give it to you straight here. Spiritually-speaking, you are often as thick as a brick.

But what does the book of Revelation tells us? Happy is the one who reads aloud and those who hear the words of this prophecy and who observe the things written in it, for the appointed time is near. (Revelation 1:3) Look! I am coming quickly. Happy is anyone observing the words of the prophecy of this scroll.” (Revelation 22:7) Yes. The book of Revelation begins and ends by saying that those who reads, understands and applies its messages, would be glad for doing so.

Hi.

The word translated "happy" here is a bit of a loose translation. The word more rightly means "blessed." It doesn't mean "made cheerful" by the news; it means blessed spiritually to know what is coming in the end-times, and out of the fear of God live a righteous life because of it, and inherent eternal life when the judgment comes.
Now it is clearly evident that the “Word” refers to Jesus Christ. Hence, Jesus Christ is the rider of the White Horse. On his outer garment, yes, on his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. (Revelation 19:16) Jesus Christ is called “King of Kings” and “Lord of Lords”. Jesus Christ is described as true and faithful. He does not exercise his power in a corrupt or abusive manner. He is given the authority to act as a “Warrior King.” The Almighty God Lord Jehovah granted Jesus Christ the power and the authority to rule and to execute judgment. The colour ‘White” symbolizes “Righteousness.” The ‘White Horse” is an appropriate symbol for “Warfare,” rightly carried out by God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

This is an interesting position prophetically, as it could be said to point to the rise of the Lord Jesus Christ through the army of God prophesied to arise in Joel. But the problem is this, H2S, and please listen. When the scriptures cite several things in combination like this (four different horses), they are grouped together like this as sharing a common element. You will more often see them coming in groups in three, as a type of "three bearing witness." But to have one horse representing a tremendous good but the next three representing tremendous evils would constitute what scholars refer to as an "unnatural reading."

Now, one could interpret all four as being positive in nature, and that would resolve the conflict. But the four horsemen have traditionally always been interpreted as negative, and I believe it is the right interpretation.

God bless, and good hearing from you! : )

Because you literally had to twist words into something they have nothing to do with to make it fit.

Well that is Marks' position. We just happen to disagree. The links through etymologies are easily enough to see, but it is something that is spiritually discerned. You will possibly think I'm disparaging you by saying that, but I'm simply pointing out that the Lord never comes right out and identifies the Whore, or the Beast, or the Four Horsemen by name. They must be spiritually discerned. Same goes for the mark of the Beast, btw, regarding which Revelation uses a similar linguistic device. But that would be for another thread.

Hello...I don't think this is the about the coronavirus...
my first study was to understand the original text of the word apocalypse:
apokalupsis: an uncovering
Original Word: ἀποκάλυψις, εως, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: apokalupsis
Phonetic Spelling: (ap-ok-al'-oop-sis)
Definition: an uncovering
Usage: an unveiling, uncovering, revealing, revelation.

I am in agreement here that the rider of the White Horse is The Word of God, Jesus...
quote:Richard Williams Francis - Quora

In the book of Revelation, the meanings are positive. For those who are faithful and who serve the true God, what is written is never fearful or terrifying. People associate the word “Apocalypse” with great wars and disasters.

“THE RIDER OF THE WHITE HORSE”

“And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder: “Come!” And I saw, and look! a white horse, and the one seated on it had a bow; and a crown was given him, and he went out conquering and to complete his conquest. Revelation 6:1, 2 (NWT)) Who is the rider of the “White Horse”? I saw heaven opened, and look! a white horse. And the one seated on it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness. His eyes are a fiery flame, and on his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, and he is clothed with an outer garment stained with blood, and he is called by the name The Word of God. (Revelation 19:11-13). In the quoted verse it is mentioned “The Word of God.” Who is the “Word” of God?

Let us refer another Bible Scripture. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. This one was in the beginning with God. All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence. What has come into existence 4 by means of him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light is shining in the darkness, but the darkness has not overpowered it. (John 1:1-5)

So the Word became flesh and resided among us, and we had a view of his glory, a glory such as belongs to an only begotten son from a father; and he was full of divine favour and truth. (John 1:14)

Here we see the white horse mentioned again:
Revelation 19:9-19
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Wow , I have never seen it that way before- definitely food for thought, thank you x

No offense, but I just have to give it to you straight here. Spiritually-speaking, you are often as thick as a brick.
Right. That's "giving it to me straight", eh?

Sure sound's like the Spirit speaking to me! Not.

Sounds like yet one more example of "I don't want to respond to what you said, so I'll just make disparaging comments about you."

You can discuss or not as you choose. Your perception that I'm upset, well, that's your perception I suppose. Disappointed, some times.

So then no thoughts on this idea of the crown? Corona? Diadem/stephanos? Or just this other stuff?

@Heart2Soul

Actually, that is what it means.

upload_2020-5-14_11-48-13.png

There are two words commonly translated blessed, makarios and eulogio. Makarios is to exist in a happy state, eulogio is to exist in a favorable state.

"Come ye, blessed of My Father . . ." This is eulogio. "He took them in His arms and blessed them." "Blessed are thou among women"

In the Revelation, the correct literal translation would be, "Oh how happy are the ones reading . . ."

Much love!

HIH, would you say this is helpful to our cause?

I would be doing you a disservice before God if I believed it to be the case and did not tell you, Marks.

Explain then how you interpret the following verses using the translation "happy":

Hundreds of theories have been presented on what the 1st Horseman of the Apocalypse might be. When I first saw the following video a few weeks ago, I was initially skeptical. But after realizing what a catastrophic situation we have on our hands, I am now convinced that the following interpretation is actually correct, and we are now living in the days when the first seal of Revelation 6:1-2 has been broken, and the White Horse has now been released upon the earth.
Coronavirus Revealed in Bible Prophecy

An amusing manipulation of Scripture in an attempt to suggest that the corona virus is the fulfillment of the opening of the first seal of Rev 6. Of course, the poison arrow is not mentioned in this passage.

I continue to lean toward the idea that the crown represents the Caliph of the restored Caliphate, under which the Muslim nations surrounding Israel will be unified into force against Israel. What better entity to represent the people of the Great Harlot.

Plausible. But this interpretation seems to convolute the distinctions between the white horse and the red horse. The Caliphate will go forth to conquer militarily though the use of war. In what way then would the white horse go forth to conquer if that job is going to be accomplished by the red horse?

I think the impetous is coming from your feeling of frustration, but that's just a guess on my part. But I'm not buying that this is your spiritual fruit.

Sorry, no, the words do not mean what you are trying to make them mean. That's not a disagreement, that is right vs wrong.

Don't let the lack of activity at CF fool you. This went largely under the radar, but I think he was indeed correct.

- 1 Timothy 1:11 (κατὰ τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς δόξης τοῦ μακαρίου θεοῦ)
- 1 Timothy 6:15 (ἣν καιροῖς ἰδίοις δείξει ὁ μακάριος καὶ μόνος δυνάστης)

I'm testing my Greek reading on your list of sentences, since you didn't give the translations. Kind of fun actually. I'm happy you posted it that way!

- 1 Timothy 1:11 (κατὰ according to τὸ εὐαγγέλιον the gospel τῆς δόξης the glorious τοῦ μακαρίου θεοῦ of the blessed God) According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God. God can't be happy? Is it better to say that God is favored? Favored by whom, exactly? Interesting Idea, I think I'll look to see if that phraseology is used anywhere.

- Matthew 13:16 (ὑμῶν Yours δὲ μακάριοι Blessed οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ the eyes ὅτι βλέπουσιν that see) Happy are your eyes that see, I think. Happy eyes! Fun thought. I need to look this up be sure. Humon, yours, makarioi, happy, hoi ophthalmoi, the eyes, hoti blepousin, that see, if I've got it right.

- Matthew 5:4 (μακάριοι οἱ πενθοῦντες) Can't quite remember penthountes - had to look it up. Mourning. The ones mourning are the happy ones because they will be comforted.

- Matthew 5:10 (μακάριοι blessed οἱ δεδιωγμένοι ones having been persecuted ἕνεκεν because of δικαιοσύνης righteousness) happy the persecuted ones because of righteousness.

You know that each of these have a reason how it is that these people are the happy ones. People think that "if I can keep from being persecuted I will be happy", but that's failing to recognize what God works in us.

Have you reached that most base level with God, where you truly see how utterly incapable and pathetic you are? Blessed are the poor in spirit? When you throw yourself at God's feet in utter dejection over your life? OK, maybe I shouldn't be applying that to others. But when I've come to that state, it's really hard to explain the joy and peace that is there. Because when we are at our lowest, God is there with us. When we've peeled back the veneers, we see what's real. And what's real is God, loving us. Blessed are those persecuted . . . because the spiritual reward is so great!

"Where is the house you will build from me? I made everything!! But this is who I will be with, the one who is humble, lowly, who trembles at my word". Paraphrased from Isaiah 66.

The rest I'll need to look up.

upload_2020-5-14_14-14-33.png

Time for a word search! Eulogio, as used in regard to God . . .

Matthew 21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

Luke 2:28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

Luke 19:38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
This one I'll be mulling over . . .

James 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

Luke 24:53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Luke 1:64 And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.

Thoughts concerning Ephesians 1:3 . . . Blessed be the God and Father of our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eulogia is most literally to "good speak".

Luke 1:64 shows this understanding in the translation Praise. Praising and Blessing God, that is, Saying how great He is, and speaking good of Him. When we speak good of Him, we are praising and worshiping and acknowledging Him.

When God speaks good of us, His words have power.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:"

OK . . . whenever I do some Bible study, I like to let things gel a little, so I'll come back to this in a bit . . .

Much love!
