"Heart2Soul,
Hello H2S
Hey brother, no man cometh to the Father except that he is drawn by the Holy Spirit...
Jn Jn6:37-44 speaks of people coming to Jesus. Those given to Jesus by the Father.
so the Power of the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts is the start...
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
God may choose to send an Angel to minister to someone....
Angels do minister to those who are heirs of salvation
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
it is the spoken word that has power...
I know you live in an area that had extensive teaching of some people, where they would suggest this, "Rhema words". I leave any power up to God. The word of God has power when used by the Spirit, spoken, read, meditated on...read all of psalm 119, psalm 1.
We should be able to write those psalms about our lives and thoughts before God.
John the Baptist never had a Bible..
Does the bible say that? He had been instructed concerning the Kingdom of God. he had been instructed in the law because he knew men had to repent. In mt3 we read this;
Matthew 3 King James Version (KJV)
3 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
The OT.Scriptures were the bible of that day. He had it, He knew it.
.he simply went from place to place testifying and calling people to repent and be baptized for the Messiah has come
Notice in verse9;
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
He was familiar with the promises of the covenant of grace, looking for the promised seed. the description of his clothing paints a picture of him being a bit eccentric, but Jesus had a different view of him. He defined him by OT. scriptures, not just a random person wandering around getting feelings and impressions.
mt11;
7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
8 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.
9 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
