Motive has something to do with also; some ppl wish to testify with Bible verse designs, etc. The fact that you may not agree is not their responsibility, and vice versa also.

Like I said, it's incidental, compared with the abiding inward & spiritual issues that should be paramount. That being said, so many ladies now do get tattooed and so it's hardy unusual.
@brian100 Well, my answer would really be that if she does it, it should be of her own initiative, and not under pressure. (As regards the state of the heart - which is hidden - it depends...)

Well, but really whether or not she does or does not get tattooed - irrespective of what you may wish - she still may have your best interests at heart, right?
I would prefer if she wanted to just sit next to me.. but I think its better if you wanted to sit next to your lady instead. B/c it implies attraction for you.. and that is what counts. If the tat is not loud and offensive sure its okay.

PS: My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed. It was her favorite Bible verse and mine also; and I'm sure other conversations have arisen as a result of her willingness to do it.

It's good to be sure of exercising saving faith in the Lord Jesus, as the Scripture teach. John 3.16 is similar in its themes to various verses in John's First Epistle about eternal life in Him.
