I saw Luke travel to me 17 years before I decoded the Shroud of Turin. Coming to you is more powerful a message.

Luke seems awfully fascinated by the women. Are you sure this is the Luke who wrote a book of the Bible?

Yes indeed. As part of the title I added sci.fi.and make believe because those who.brush scripture off, brush off church history, invent their own counterfeit, mystical religion.
The whole church has known the truth up till now.
These kind of professed believerswould want to rewrite history and just make it up any way they feel like.
The main reason why members who have issues with moving in the gifts of the Spirit is usually because they have never, ever experienced the Holy Spirit's presence, power or anointing. It then makes them wonder if they are really saved.....

On the contrary, people who make believe they are praying in tongues, do so in a false attempt to get assurance of salvation
They figured I make this rhyming noise, I can feel that it must be the Spirit, so I must be saved

Most times these same persons have very few mark's of a regenerate person, but thankfully God saves some despite the false teaching they cling to.
We know this because dozens have explained how they thought this was what God had for them.
So they listen to one false teacher after another, mostly the prosperity guys who have made themselves rich off of poor people and are a disgrace to real churches worldwide.
Then through prayer and study, and a biblically educated conscience, God led them to follow scripture.

Once tongues were manifest there, off course others were involved as part of the sign gift. That is why Paul regulated them.
When the Apostles were gone, so were the signs of an Apostle.
Your idea that without modern day Apostles no one can be saved is foolish and indicates you do not understand how biblical salvation works.
It also shows you do not understand what or who the Apostles were.
There is not one Apostle or Prophet today.
Of course you are speaking rubbish but you have been taught to think that way from your reformed/cessationist background. Are you also a KJV onlyer with a touch of OSAS? I am also not a Calvinist, Sorry.....

A lot of confusion arises over these issues because there are real miracles today but there are also a lot of charlatans out there peddling their snake oil. I remember receiving a letter in the mail about the apostle's Paul's hanky that I was supposed to send on to others with a donation I believe to receive miracles. (it's been awhile, can't remember all the details.) The hanky was a piece of paper with a cloth-like print on it, lol. I had a good laugh, but also wondered how many people get taken in by this nonsense. Then you have the emails that you are supposed to pass on so God will bless you and if you don't, your armpits will be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels and the Facebooks posts you are supposed to share and if you don't, you are just a horrible person and obviously don't love Jesus.
But all of that doesn't mean God doesn't really still do miracles.

I have a friend who watches all those prosperity guys. She's a genuine believer, as genuine as any you would ever want to meet, and a real prayer warrior, but she has a gullible side too. But on the other hand, I love her childlike faith, even though she's lived through stuff that would make many people quit God ages ago. Sometimes I think I'm too cynical and that actually inhibits God working through me. But I can't watch any of the prosperity guys, they turn my stomach.

I am a bible believer, a Reformed Baptist by choice, God's choice.
No kjo,no osas,
If you look at the 1689 confession of faith, that is the closest explanation of what I see in scripture.
You are welcome to your opinion
The rubbish is saying cars are driving 160 miles through the outback, with no fuel, but mommy praying in tongues,
You believe there are Apostles today, who?
There is no one identified as an Apostle anywhere,Everyone would know about it.

Rennicks. My wife has been healed in answer to prayer, but we do not call that a sign gift, it was just an answer to prayer.
People are calling things miracles that are not.
People are just making things up to sound like super saints, when their lives many times are in shambles.

I think that this is probably where the issue lies. Speaking in tongues. A few Pentecostal Churches believe that if you don't speak in tongues, you are not saved. I am not one of those people and I am sorry if you or others like you were mistreated because you or perhaps others did not speak in tongues. I have many friends who are Spirit filled, yet do not speak in tongues.

Being healed is a miracle regardless. God arranging amazing "coincidences" are miracles. God speaking to us in our language is a miracle. Why would we pray at all if we didn't believe in miracles?

Bobby Jo said to @Heart2Soul
No amount of Scripture, Evidence, or Witnesses can change a pre-determined position. -- Perhaps you can cause "blindness"? ;)

WVBR,
Bobby Jo
Not sure what you mean in this post could you clarify what you're saying here

Just to be clear, -- you've believed the LIES of your church. They've apparently told you that Prophecy shall cease, and has ceased. But Scripture provides for Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. And you attempting to teach US the LIES of your church. -- So that make you a FIRST ORDER hypocrite. Either ALL FIVE Ministries are in operation, or NONE are in operation.

Thus all the opposing posts to your assertions, -- just as the ancient Christians were opposed to Saul, until he heard from GOD, and then JOINED the Christians in their adherence so GOD's Plan and Purpose for mankind.

So PLEASE do not wasted your time or my time replying, -- until you've had YOUR Paul experience --, even if you're struck with blindness in the process.

An Apostle is a messenger [Greek] sent forth. How many ministries today have been sent forth?

A Prophet is a spokesman [Greek]. In [Hebrew] nabi, from a root meaning "to bubble forth, as from a fountain," hence "to utter"

Angelina,
I am okay with you holding what you do.
I think all of you are trying to be helpful.trust me I have many experiences with brothers who believe some of what you do
With some of them I have no doubt they love the Lord and serve him.
That being said, I reserve the right to believe what I do and express what I know

We can let the readers decide,We do not have to battle to the death.
I have heard all the teaching from those churches, I could present each of the different stripes of it, but know it to be fleshly. I find it ironic that they speak of being spiritual but that is not what I have seen.
More importantly no one has presented a scriptural case that convinces me to modify my position.

Okay. Understandable but some things can be just a matter of faith. I believe the word of God 100% and I have faith that he is still the same today, yesterday and forever. Hebrews 13:8. That forever may just last till we individually get home but it's still forever when we are time counters down here.

Let me ask you something then. As I understand, you believe that the sign gifts or Apostolic gifts are no-longer functioning today. Why then are they active in Revelation 11:3-6. If the sign gifts are finished when the last Apostle died, how is anyone going to believe that these two guys are actually from God and not from Satan?

The Two Witnesses: Some say that they are Elijah and Enoch. Others say, that they are Elijah and Moses but these are just guesses. No-one really knows who they really are...[added] These two witnesses are moving in signs, wonders and miracles and prophesying. This is a future event.

Some people may indeed be making up things, but you should not generalize... lumping everyone that is not exactly where you are with those who are purposely falsifying. Remember what Solomon wrote 3,000 years ago is still true today:

"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts." Prov 21:2
