You need to separate the Spirit (God) from the flesh (man). Jesus was the possessor of both. He was Spirit in the beginning as the creator, and the flesh came later. As the Bible says:

thanks for that question, and here's how God did grow in stature and wisdom. one must understand that the Lord Jesus is the "EQUAL SHARE" of himself in flesh, supportive scripture Philippians 2:6 "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:"

first Form: which is Jesus Nature. it is the Greek word, G3444 μορφή morphe (mor-fee') n.

Thank you for that...there are many examples that show Jesus is the God, such as "Give ear, O people, to My Law" in the OT and then Jesus in the NT saying, "If ye love Me, keep MY commandments." It's startling how many people have bought into the whole "Old Testament God is full of wrath, but New Testament Jesus is nice" idea. They do perceive the love of God poured out so torrentially in the OT, nor do they perceive the wrath of Jesus that exists in the New.

God demonstrated His great love for Israel in perhaps one of the greatest expressions of that in Hosea, when He said by the example of the prophet taking back his shameful, unfaithful wife, what seemed to be the words, "Return unto Me, O Israel, for I love you and am married unto you!"

I'm pretty sure the Bible says that the impenitent, as well as those whose righteousness shall not be remembered if these turn back to living in sin, are going to hear Jesus say to them, "I never knew you", which again, shows that Jesus isn't the toothless Lion of the tribe of Judah that many prefer over the "mean OT God".

How can God grow in wisdom and greatness, or why does he speak to himself? It is written that God's mind became flesh, it could be that through this incarnation a new person was created who is separated from the Father, but both are one in spirit. This would mean that God has begotten a real son who is like him.

The harmonization is in the fact that the Son took upon Himself a new nature, one that the Father did not have...Jesus was 100% man and 100% God. If try to explain it you'll lose your mind, but if you refuse to believe it you'll lose you soul.

Therefore:

• when Jesus prayed, He prayed in His flesh as a man, for "O Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee shall all flesh come."
• When He hung on the Cross, He felt forsaken as a man.
• When He prayed, "Not My will, but Thine," He was surrendering His will as a man.

BUT....

• When He said, "I and My Father are One", He was speaking as God.
• When He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM", He was speaking as God.
• When He said, "Unless ye believe that I AM, ye shall die in your sins", He was speaking as God.
