Here in Melbourne we have arguably the toughest restrictions on the globe
Must wear a mask when u leave home
Curfew from 8pm to 6am to cannot leave your home for any reason
Cannot travel over 5kms from your home
Can only leave your home for one hour in a day for shopping or exercise.
Cannot visit anyone unless its your partner. No other family members
$1,600 fines being overly enforced for breaking any of these laws
Parliament is suspended so dictator Dan is passing through all these laws unopposed
What else, haven't been to church in 5 months
Had to attend my cousins funeral with 50 person limit in church
I missed the burial cos there was a 10 person limit for the cemetery
Cannot play golf, go fishing or go for a swim, not even alone
Haven't worked this year and although the gov is paying me something its still been a huge financial hit. My future is uncertain
I better stop because i can easily write a whole page more.
I declare Melbourne to be the most totalitarian city in the west and challenge anyone to show me otherwise
Only some people can work and they need an exemption. My mate lays floors and asked me to give him a hand for two days.
Whats it like around town i asked... He said it was dead...
On the way into the city, on the freeway, i noticed a few cars and said its not that bad. He just turned and said its 8.30am...
Umm yes thats right, we should be bumper to bumper now its peak hour. It was like 4am traffic, all clear.
I think there is 5 mil in this city and your average Tuesday is full of life u know. Its like a machine or even a living organism is a city.
The apartment we worked in was on Flinders lane. It runs across the length of the city and off that are countless alleys and lanes.
Their full of the funkiest little cafe's, restaurants, little boutique shops, bars, everything its one of the hippest parts of town that doesn't sleep.
Its always alive but what i saw just gave me mixed feelings of anger, sadness.
All those small places all closed like a ghost town with some stores boarded up like their out of business...
Lunch time was the most depressing of all. Usually u could buy chinese, italian, or any other global cuisine to eat.
But the only place we could find open nearby was... McDonalds... What a disgrace
And after the second day when we finished and head back home i thought to myself they've killed our city.
I would prefer to live near a country town than this concrete jungle which Satan has a hold over so much of.
But seeing the Melbourne corpse really gave me a sense of appreciation for the city and the people that make it breathe.
It literally brought a tear to my eye, it felt like a funeral, and seeing Melbourne like that was like viewing a corpse.
Anyway if u managed to read that sob story i apologize. I just had to put it in print u know like in the olden days they used to say to write a letter then tear it up, by the time u finish venting out in the letter uv calmed down... This is similar its a release, i feel calmer now that ive got it off my chest, but instead of pressing delete i figure i may as well publish it now. If even only one person can relate or take anything from my testimony then i will be happy, u know... Godspeed
