The Parable of the Ten Virgins

In this parable, Christ represents the bridegroom, and the virgins represent individuals which will be alive at Christ's advent. Five of these individuals (Christian) are found worthy to go into the kingdom, and five (who think they are Christian) are not. I think that most everyone will agree to this assessment.

So what do we know about this future event. According to John, the world is going to experience the Great Tribulation period in which the AC is going to require all to worship him by requiring everyone to take a mark. All who do not take the mark will be executed.

Revelation 13:15 He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Christians are forewarned not to take the mark which is a sign of worshipping the beast.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

So, the five wise virgins, as individuals which will be alive at Christ's advent, will have to survive the Great Tribulation period and will have to avoid taking the mark.

So, let's recap. This parable describes an event which takes place at Christ's advent, sometime in the future. Christ is represented by the bridegroom. Five of these individuals (Christian) are found worthy to go into the kingdom, and five (who think they are Christian) are not. The rest of Christendom has been martyred for not taking the mark of the beast.

My only question, where do you see yourself in this parable?

This is speaking of a wedding. Since it was given as a parable, God could have used anything else, but He chose a wedding. Was this just a coincidence, or not, considering that there WILL BE a wedding, as shown to us in Rev. 19. And it is a wedding for the church. And Jesus will be the bridegroom.

Sadly enough, many believe the rapture is on the "last day," meaning the day Jesus returns to earth on the white horse. It is sad, because in that scenario, they will MISS THE WEDDING. John clearly shows that the wedding and marriage supper will take place in heaven, BEFORE Jesus gets on the white horse.

Then, we find this verse, telling us the same thing:

Luke 12:36
And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately

Again, in this verse God could have chosen that He would return from anything else: but He chose a wedding - exactly what we find in Rev. 19.

Therefore, I believe this parable of the virgins is speaking, NOT of His return on the white horse, but rather, His return to the AIR as found in 1 Thes. 4:17

Five of these are born again, five are not. Five are qualified to be those that "are alive and remain" after the dead in Christ are raised. Therefore, five will be raptured and be in heaven for the wedding, and five will not.

Therefore, these five wise virgins will be AT THE WEDDING in heaven, while the beast is murdering the saints on earth. it seems they really WERE wise!! They chose to believe that they had not appointment with wrath. So they were delivered from the wrath to come.

.I see myself at the wedding, while people are taking the mark down here.

Notice the similarities between the parable of the ten virgins and Zechariah's prophecy documented in chapter 14. The similarities are :

1. Both are describing Christ's advent.
2. Both state that half won't make it.

Zechariah 14:2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
