Homosexuality, My question is an easy one, how can anyone with any kind of common sense believe that two men or two women could have sex with each other when thy both have the same body parts. There for the only way I can see it is that Homosexuality is a chose nothing else. No other reason can explain it. Or do you have a better explanation I would like to hear it..
Hello and great question. I am a Christian that lived that lifestyle for many years before I found Christ. I can tell you that the overwhelming number of homosexual people are attracted to the 'lifestyle' more than the sex.
Going out, being noticed, being with what people think is the hottest guy or girl, etc... this is what drive most people in the community. It's why pride marches are always filled with lot's of people. Being "In"... Now, don't get me wrong, there are a number of gay people that will tell you they are in it to find love, that they are born* this way, but when it's all said and done it's the life their into.
I put an astrick next to born because even though I am out of that lifestyle I am not 100% sure is a
pure choice. I think your living arrangement, life and the way your brought up, your family connection, and a lot other things contribute to make you who you are. So it's not a choice in my opinion, but it's also not something you're 'born' into... After being in Christ this is something I am still trying to figure out... how I did what I did for so long.
It wasn't part of your question, but I thought I would share how to reach the community. It's what worked for me and although it's the hardest to do it's effective. One can't shout that the gay community are sinners.. letting them know where you stand and what the Bible says in one thing, but shouting is another.
Another way it to love them where they are at. Consistently let them know that you fear for their eternal life and that you care about them, but they are living a sinful life. Let them know that there is so much more then where they are in life. Slowing reach them where they are.
I was raised in a Christian home, my parents are Christians yet I still did what I did for 20+ years... in the end it was a Pastor loving me where I was, all the while letting me know he was concerned for me and why he was concerned that made me realize I wanted a different life.
Since I have lived in the trenches and now live in the green grass it's my hope to reach out and help anyone willing to listen to save one at a time.
