Yes, they thought it was literal, rather than spiritual.
and they thought correct. it is literal flesh and blood that feeds the spirit only. the eucharist does not feed the human flesh for it is of no avail; no help or benefit to feed the flesh that dies and withers away. only feeds the spirit; but it's his real flesh and blood that feed the spirit, that give life! God Bless

What's the solution?

1 John 1 - [7] But if we walk in the light [this is obedience], as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Romans 13 - [14] But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Resisting sin is part of our walk with the Lord Jesus. When temptation comes knocking, we must have the Word of God in our hearts to declare to satan to flee. If we give over to sin in times of temptation, then we have given ourselves over to satan, which equates to death. Learn from Adam & Eve. Sin = Death. The New Covenant has not done away with this truth. Jesus came to make us over comers, not weaklings of satan.

James 1
[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

James 4
[7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[8] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
[9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
[10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

so after he said 7 times to eat his flesh and 3 times to drink his blood, he says just joking? And then allows his disciples to leave based on a misunderstanding? No way bro!

https://truthcampaign.org/truth-campaign-2/
So to have eternal life we actually have to take a bite of JESUS real flesh and drink his real blood . And who here has done that .
I mean think on this one for a bit . My words , MY WORDS , they are SPIRIT and THEY ARE LIFE . Let the glorious LORD be praised .

That is why JESUS says , He who loves ME , KEEPS my sayings .
And that the Word that HE has spoken will be the judge .
Yep . Now let the glorious Lord be praised . back to those lovely bibles my friends .
For the Holy scrips do indeed make one wise unto salvation through faith in Christ .
But the twisted words of men , make one wise unto unto SLAVATION to sin .

That's fine, but when you take the wine, you don't actually taste blood.

Besides "cover" there are other key phrases of the false doctrine which brings death of the Church age of Sardis in Revelation 3.

False Doctrine phrases
  • Cover: the blood of Jesus covers our sin, and hides our sin from the Father who cannot look upon sin.
  • Past, present and future sins are all forgiven
  • Imputed righteousness, that covers your unrighteousness, but doesn't make you righteous.
  • Jesus freed us from the law and the consequences of sin, so you can sin and remain saved.
  • We will always sin until our bodies of flesh die and are changed.
Truth
  • Our born again nature does righteousness, making us righteous. 1 John 3:7
  • We are not in the flesh (carnal nature), but in the Spirit (divine nature), if the Spirit of God dwells within. (Reason for Paul's command to not quench the Spirit)

Only a person who is a novice in the Word of God and who does not know the depth of what Calvary accomplished would say that # 2-5 of your false doctrines are false doctrines! I am truly sad for you that you have been so horrendously taught.

noun
CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY
  1. (especially in the Roman Catholic Church) the conversion of the substance of the Eucharistic elements into the body and blood of Christ at consecration, only the appearances of bread and wine still remaining.
The wafers and the wine have been scientifically tested before and after consecration. They were exactly the same.

"It is the Spirit giving life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life."
John 6:63

John 6:57
"As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna,"

The words He spoke were "Spirit"...I don't think Jesus would want to be cannabalized.

That's fine, but when you take the wine, you don't actually taste blood.
In the Church’s traditional theological language, in the act of consecration during the Eucharist the “substance” of the bread and wine is changed by the power of the Holy Spirit into the “substance” of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. At the same time, the “accidents” or appearances of bread and wine remain.

According to Catholic faith, we can speak of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist because this transubstantiation has occurred (cf. Catechism, no. 1376). This is a great mystery of our faith—we can only know it from Christ’s teaching given us in the Scriptures and in the Tradition of the Church.

Sometimes the accidents change while the substance remains the same. For example, when a child reaches adulthood, the characteristics of the human person change in many ways, but the adult remains the same person—the same substance. At other times, the substance and the accidents both change. For example, when a person eats an apple, the apple is incorporated into the body of that person—is changed into the body of that person. When this change of substance occurs, however, the accidents or characteristics of the apple do not remain. As the apple is changed into the body of the person, it takes on the accidents or characteristics of the body of that person. Christ’s presence in the Eucharist is unique in that, even though the consecrated bread and wine truly are in substance the Body and Blood of Christ, they have none of the accidents or characteristics of a human body, but only those of bread and wine.

When the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ, why do they still look and taste like bread and wine? – Saint Margaret of Antioch Parish

"It is the Spirit giving life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life."
John 6:63
  • What does “no avail” mean? It means “no help or benefit.”
  • Did Jesus say “my” flesh is of no avail? No, he said “the” flesh is of no avail.
  • Is Jesus’ flesh of no avail? No!
  • The Lord is perfect and sinless. His flesh is holy and pure. His flesh and spirit rose from the dead. Was his flesh on the cross of no help or benefit? Jesus is referring to “our” sinful flesh. The Lord is saying, it is no help or benefit to feed “our” flesh that dies and withers away. “His” resurrected flesh and blood feeds our spirit (soul), which gives life.
  • Consuming his flesh and blood feeds our spirit (soul) which gives life, not our sinful flesh which is of no avail. We transform into the Body of Christ by spiritually being fed, so we too rise from the dead.

I consider Him to BE the bread of life, and it is His Word (He is the Word) is to be fed on daily, nightly anytime we have time. I am sorry but, we will just have to disagree brother. There are many on here that I do not agree with 100% and I'm sure that goes for everyone else on this site. I respect your beliefs but I am not at all a proponent of transubstantiation.
In Him,
Nancy

What gives me life is the Word of God. Consuming the written Word daily is life-giving. Being open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit is life-giving. Even if you believe you are partaking of Jesus actual flesh without the other things you will not have the life he wants us to have.

But if we walk in the light [this is obedience],

Walking in the light may include obedience; but it is primarily defined as being transparent before God and man.

Jhn 3:20, For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Jhn 3:21, But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

That's great that your consuming the Word of God! Keep it up!! Many do not!

Just keep in mind, it was the Catholic Church that compiled the Holy Bible through the Holy Spirit.

It requires a very strong faith. Not saying your faith is not strong. I created this website. This sums up what the Church believes:

Mean statements without any scriptural rebuttal hold no weight. Come on now. Put scripture where your mouth is.
