If it was his “ former” life, why didn’t he say ,I “USED” to be the “Chief Of Sinners” . He didn’t say that though, did he ? Read the Bible as it is—- you try to make it say anything you want in a desperate attempt to justify your Hog Wash doctrines ...

Obviously, to trick the dim-witted.

Are you serious? Or is this tongue-in-cheek?

Much love!

No, I'm not serious, silly. In context you will see Jesus saved him from his FORMER life. And of all the sins the apostles committed in their former lives, Paul's was the worst.

12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, 13 although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

What I find unbelievable is that Jesus is the Mediator of the New Covenant and we are no longer under the Old Covenant which was tudor to bring us to Christ. The Law ( O.C. old covenant) was for the Jews not the gentiles. We are gentiles under the New Covenant. The entire book of Hebrews makes it obvious we are no longer under the O.T. but the N.T. The words will, covenant, testament all come form the same word in the Greek. We have been set free by the blood of Christ, the New Covenant of His blood which provides forgiveness and freedom from the law. These people do not understand Gods grace or the New Covenant, the New Testament. The Old Testament was valid while the One who made the covenant was alive. But since Christ who is God made the Covenant and died we inherit the New Covenant and are freed from the law as Hebrews chapters 8-10 point out as does Paul in Colossians, Galatians and Ephesians.

Keep up the good work defending the truth and the grace of God and not the law and its bondage.

Specifically Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, points out that we are governed by the law as believers under the New Covenant.

More specifically, we are governed by the love of God which fulfills the righteousness of the law within us (Romans 13:8-10, Galatians 5:14, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, Romans 8:4).

I think that we can all have different sensitivities towards ourselves, and what we feel constitutes sin.

Someone may not consider the thought or act they do as wrong, even though to be from pride or fear or malice or some other corruption of the flesh. Maybe it feels too mild, maybe it's become habitual, and, what you see everyday you can tend to stop seeing.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance. I figure that if something in me isn't described in this list, then it must be the flesh. This is walking in the Spirit, to display these in my thoughts and emotions and actions.

To me, all else is sin, falling short of the glory of God which he has shone into our hearts.

Much love!

God is able to give the faith that leads us in victory over the flesh. @CharismaticLady tells us that she closes the day with a clear conscience, and I don't question that. She tells us that she doesn't desire sin, and I don't question that either. Whether these things be in reality true or not I don't actually know, but I'm not just going to assume she's lying to all of us. I have no reason to thing her heart is not towards God, or that God is working in her.

I believe her heart is towards god as well! I don't doubt her sincerity nor her desire to serve our Savior, just this false concept that she sinned from sin in her daily life the moment she recieved Christ!

And it's like, just being in His presence drives all thought of sin away, banished by the light and warmth of His love.

Amen! We are all growing in that and I for one am grateful that God doesn't deal with us as we deserve, but according to the riches of grace jesus banked for us by His precious blood!

Hi Ron,
Neither do I know of any who never fall short.
OSAS is something that is not yet cemented with me. I believe it in the sense that if one is saved, and STICKS with running this race then, I cannot even imagine anybody going back to their old man. Then, there are those who were apparently "saved" (the seed parable) but gave into the temptations from Satan, so their seeds never took root, or were burned by the sun (rocky soil).
This forum is in my prayers daily as it is the best fellowship I can get! And, I have grown close to many on here. We have to let all grow together and when His time is right...He will sickle (well, His angels will :) ) a remnant from places maybe you and I would never even think He would choose from. We can point out other's doctrines as being false all the day long and, right we should. Yet, if it gets to personal attacks, that is where I must draw the line. If someone want's to point out other's error's, false doctrine's that is biblical but, one will or will not accept it. Therefore...we shake the dust off and move on.
We can badger those we heartily disagree with also but...rarely does it change minds and hearts to our own way of interpretations and beliefs.
Prayer is the answer to everything to me, lol...it is so very powerful!
God Bless brother.

Hi Nancy:

Well I don't know if badgering anyone in their misbeliefs will convert them, but Paul in Timothy said we must.

But as OSAS it is not a matter of the soil or people who may abuse the privilege etc., but what SCripture teaches.

Bottom line is either Jesus died for all sin or he did not! If one can lose their eternal life , being unhid in Christ, having their life kept in heaven for them revoked, and having eternal life stripped and their never perish become perish, then Jesus did not die for all sin! But if He died for all teh sins of humanity, then sin is no longer the issue for those who have been born from above!

Yes we are not judged by Christ and He forgave( past tense) our sins. As far as the east is from the west declares the Lord so are your sins forgiven and I will remember them NO MORE. And Eternal Life is just that its NEVER ENDING otherwise Gods promises are a lie.

John 3:18
"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Hebrews 10:11-14

Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Hebrews 10:15-18

The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:

16 “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”

17 Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more
.” 18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

hope this helps !!!

I asked because it is not sanctification.

The Bible says yo are wrong!

Heb 10:14

For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified! Sanctification is hagiazo which root is hagos or to make holy!

to be glorified is doxazo which means totally different. I will take Gods INspired Word over a private conversation everyday, as you should as well!

Are you believing that because we are not under the Law of Moses that we are not under ANY law? What does that mean? We can sin because we are not under the law, or that there is no such thing as sin anymore and anything goes?

He forgave our past sins. We are clean. But you seem to believe that a Christian has no power given to them to keep from sinning in the present and the future, but that is precisely why Jesus makes us born again with a new nature that DOES NOT SIN. 1 John 3:9; 1 John 5:18

If you understood Grace you would not ask such an elementary babe in Christ question.

Titus 2:11-13
11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Shall we continue in sin that GRACE may abound ? MAY IT NEVER BE !!!

hope this helps!!!

Those being sanctified are those coming to Christ. Jesus frees us from sin, not frees us to sin. And frees us in continual sin is just nonsense.

Jesus forgave ALL SINS PERIOD.

Hebrews 10:1-5
For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? 3 But in those sacrifices, there is a reminder of sins year by year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Again, if you believe you will always sin, you probably will. I know I am born again, so I don't. 1 John 3:9 and 1 John 5:18

I believe I am always capable of sin, and I also believe I still live in things I have not yet been shown are sin.

My biggest fear for you is you lack understanding of what is being actuaaly said in SCripture. Especially this verse:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

If you only bothered to do a language study of these verses and see what John originally wrote you would not declare yourself as not sinning since you got saved!

There is a reason verse 8 stands in contrast to verse 9

and verse 7 declares that His blood keeps cleansing us from sins.

As for me, I hate to sin, for it grieves HIs Spirit which lives in me. But I am also glad that when I do sin, God has given me 1 John 1:9 and this:

1 John 2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

It is sad you do not know the privilege and jopy of knowing jesus as your advocate!
