Take a good long and closer look at what they just said . Folks are trusting in emotions and feelings to guide them to truth .
ME , i stick with biblical truth . Our emotions cannot lead us to truth . GOD can , and ONLY IN JESUS .
And if we recieve any feeling which lets us think something is true , YET it contradicts biblical truth , we know its false .
I see the problem . With this generation its a feel your way to GOD by emotions and chants and meditation .
But i dont see much biblical truth in their ideals and truths . ITS all about FEELING . what SEEMS true , what FEELS right .
SCRIPTURE , GOD s holy inspired words , NOW THAT IS TRUTH . IF JESUS said it , THEN WE KNOW IT IS TRUTH .
Look close at what they said . Do you see it . emotions become truth . THAT IS HIGHLY dangerous . TRUTH IS TRUTH
and the bible IS FULL OF TRUTH . ONLY most dont take thier cues FROM THE BIBLE , rather from EMOTIONS and FEELINGS .

My posts weren't about Guidance towards God, it was about memory regression and recovery of one's past from emotional trauma. The bible also doesn't spell out medical practices that are used today. Does that mean Jesus doesn't support medicines. Or psychiatric and psychology? And I get my ideas about God from the Bible mostly.

One thing you need to understand about psychology is that it is atheistic at its core. Freud, one of the "founding fathers" of psychology, rejected God and became an atheist. Many psychological theories stem from Freud's Psychoanalytic Theory. Another "founding father" of psychology is Wilhelm Wundt, who established behavioral psychology, which is based on atheism. These represent two of the three major divisions of psychology. The third major division is called humanistic psychology, which is atheistic as well.

So, the "founding fathers" of psychology completely ignored our Creator in their theories. How can they pretend to understand the psychological needs of human beings when they disregard the God who created humans? It would be like trying to figure out the Space Shuttle without having a clue about who created it or why it was created. Of course, humans are much more complex than any piece of equipment.

I majored in psychology because I thought it held the key to happiness. Halfway through my degree, God reached out to me with His love and saved me! As I began to read the Bible, I could see the HUGE discrepancies between what I was learning in my psychology classes and what the Bible says. I can honestly say that it was God who delivered me from some of my biggest emotional problems--fear and anxiety, not psychology.... His Word transformed my mind and emotions--still are!

Yes God delivered me from anxiety as well. I suffered for several years of anxiety and then years later followed God and began to recover. I think it was religious damnation that caused my anxiety though, so really only God could fix it. But as far as childhood trauma, psychology is what alleviated it.

The thing you need to understand is medicine. How did doctors figure out how to cure people? By trying out different concoctions on them and cutting them open, very ungodly to begin with. But today in medicine we have ethics and a closer relationship with God and medicine.

I also know that psychiatric medicines work. They cure people of psychosis, among other conditions. I don't bash people that help.

Sounds like you found a good counselor. That's great!

I'm not sure how this applies. Prescription meds kill many Americans every year.

Meds don't cure people of psychosis! These meds tend to exacerbate suicidal tendencies and have been connected with mass shootings.

My current counselor is Christian.

And how many would die without antibiotics as one simple example? I can think of several people including myself that would be dead without them.

Psychiatric meds work just fine. But yeah if they caused people to commit mass killings I think I would have heard about it.

Some psych meds have warnings for youth and elderly. But that is well established, which is also why only a psychiatrist can prescribe them. And should only be taken under the supervision of a doctor.

It's funny you should mention antibiotics, which have been way overprescribed. I read years ago that European doctors stopped prescribing antibiotics for certain infections. You need to understand that antibiotics are fungal metabolites and can cause serious fungal infections.

Prescription meds in general have CAUSED many deaths!

MILITARY SUICIDES & HOMICIDES—THE DANGERS OF PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS

“We have never drugged our troops to this extent and the current increase in suicides is not a coincidence. Why hasn’t psychiatry in the military been relieved of command of Mental Health Services? In any other command position in the military, there would have been a change in leadership.”

— Bart Billings, Ph.D., Retired Col. and former military psychologist

The risks of taking psychotropic drugs have long been known. With antidepressants, there are now nearly 100 drug regulatory agency warnings from ten countries and the European Union alerting prescribers and patients to the drugs’ adverse effects, including hostility, violent behavior and suicide.

Yes you definitely seem a skeptic of the modern world that most of us embrace. I've met several people on this forum that share similar views which I consider to be extreme.

So what do you think of science and technology? I often find that people that hold similar views to you downplay the importance of such things.

Lol!! Thanks for making me laugh!

You can see that I "embrace" technology. I'm using right now.

I only object to the godLESSness of the modern world. Does this make me an extremest? LOL, again!

Ditto. I love true science and technology. Use it EVERY single day!

Oh, my! Withholding prayer to spite someone?? Or maybe I've misunderstood you.

No not at all, but I don't need to pray that you'll be thankful of the gifts of technology God has given you thru the service of different men and women thru the ages. You have some reservations about medicines clearly. I'll pray for you on that matter.

Huh? We need to be grateful for many things.

There may come a day when we won't be able to use technology like we can now or when we don't have electricity for some reason. I intend to take full advantage of these days of plenty!

I'm not totally against prescription meds. They have their place, but personally, I've seen them do more harm than good.

Yes that worries me also, no power or access to a food and water supply. Sometimes I find myself anxious about it. But I've been homeless for a few months in my lifetime. Not a pleasant experience and it was winter and snowing and raining.

But yeah we're on the same page on tech. I mean honestly without cars and freeways how would anyone get to work and be productive.

Back to the OP. It's sounds like @April_Rose l is just enjoying her peaceful happy time really. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Lol, I don't think you see at all. The serpent is the devil. God is NOT the devil! The devil is NO match for our omnipotent God.

Did you read the scripture from Revelation I quoted? Who is it that throws the devil into the abyss and locks the door? It's an angel! God won't have to do it. He'll just send one of His angels to do it!!!!!!!!!!!

Praise our sovereign God!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about being homeless. I've been close, and that was hard enough!

The occult is not child's play! It's harmful to be involved in it, and it's harmful to promote it. God will judge us for leading people astray!

Let me quote the OP: "find it perfectly fine to participate in as long as it's used for relaxation and exercise only. I mostly love just to close my eyes, relax, and concentrate on happy and positive things. (Why I close my eyes when I'm relaxed I don't know but it does help me a lot for concentration. :) )"

I'm not sure @April_Rose is actually describing the practice of the occult here. Do you see that somehow? In fact she seems to steer away from the occult in the OP message.

Thanks. I just thought of this:

Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

If I'm doing something and run into trouble, I ask myself if there is something wrong with me -- is there something "defiled" or "unbelieving" in me? I think that may apply to meditation. The person who has pure motives is going to be safe. If there is some hidden "impurity," it can boil up to the surface. It can be a good thing to spot something impure in ourselves that had been hidden before, then we can get rid of it. I think meditation could be dangerous for the people who lie to themselves if they find out something is wrong but won't admit it even to themselves. That can make people go crazy.

Noticed your post and verse. Been considering Titus 1:15 a lot lately with: Philippians 4:7-9 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. [9] Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

could it be a matter of perspective? The lens through which things are viewed. Through Christ: mercy grace, forgiveness all things are pure. But through the lens of condemnation nothing is pure but instead darkened.

The title of this thread is "Yoga." I've been addressing the occult nature and origins of yoga.

She says she is relaxing and exercising only. So I think if you have concerns about the occult, then I'm not sure they apply to @April_Rose . But sure warn everyone about the occult, which you have done.
