I know someone who would not like a John 3:16 tattoo...

But I understand your point.
@Michiah-Imla Well, I guess I was thinking of ppl who, though not into tattoos at all, might among the various, different and even conflicting thoughts, find that being pleased that the text was being displayed was uppermost...

(If this makes any sense?)

@Ziggy Sorry about your bad memories there...

With the slow motion tattoo process video I uploaded I guess I was thinking more of whether you liked the memories of the tattoo, which I assumed you were referring to...
I don't like needles, so I wasn't paying much attention.
I just know I was glad when it was over.
And then having to tend it so it didn't get rashy.
I put in on the shelf (the memory) of one of those old recipe books,
where the ingredients aren't found anymore.
I'm thinking of donating it to Good Will :)

....
@Ziggy Oh I see, so the actual experience of having needles pump ink into the skin was an aspect that you didn't enjoy at the time...some ppl find it intriguing but others see it, in order to have the tattoo, just as something necessary to be gone through...

(Seems like these days it's something that is often associated with turning 18; an experience that is a kind of milestone that is awaited and gone through.)

@Ziggy I suppose at the time you thought it was worth it, even though you don't like needles?

(The young Christians who get Bible ref.s/quotes inked in evidently think it's worth it, whatever their feelings may be about needles, anyway...)

farouk, I rather not talk about this topic anymore.
I realize it must be something you enjoy talking about,
but it makes me uncomfortable.
It was something I did in the past and it's over.
I don't want another one.
Please forgive me if this sounds rude.
I'm not trying to be.
I'm just Done talking about tattoos.
sorry..
HUGS

I don't know, perhaps! Maybe they will start having Bible studies in the parlors as well...:D
@Heart2Soul Well, my wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area; it was her favorite Bible verse and mine also.

In this short video, a Christian tattoo parlor explains his philosophy:

Clients are also interviewed: one is a young man who was referred to the parlor by his mother; another is a young woman drawn to expressing something in ink from Romans 8.

PS: This poll closes on Thursday....

So far, 16 poll votes are generally positive towards the idea; 10 are generally negative; while 2 are equivocal. Thanks for the participation, ppl, and if anyone has not yet voted and wants to, there are still 2 days left...

(Trying to think of a suitable wording for another poll if ppl still want to discuss the general tattoo subject...?)

it is becoming a norm with health professionals.
@Heart2Soul Like you said, back, it is becoming a norm with them; quite apart from personal preferences it can seem to offer a way for them to connect quickly with patients and their families.

One can understand that to Christians among health professionals (who might choose faith based designs) it can seem a win-win situation to go ahead and receive such inkings, right?

Witnessing in any form is a win-win situation.

We never were ones who followed the crowd, and have always encouraged our children to stand firm in their hearts in their own belief and identities in Christ. Both of my daughters who got tattoos did so for personal reasons rather than peer pressure.
@TLHKAJ Far better indeed to go use the tattoo parlor for personal reasons as adults, than simply through peer pressure. Seems like in your family it was done as a result of true adult decisions, anyway.

My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area; and this seems to have been as a responsible decision rather than as a passing whim.
