Yes....it “ is” strange.....here is something else that is strange—- and also sad. Southern Ohio , physically speaking, is half a world away from where you live,yet I had to go that far to find somebody that has the insight to go beneath a surface meaning to “ get” a deeper, important point
It’s all new to us, but God had this figured out a long time ago.....if the TruthThat God lead us to can work for you and I, it should work for everybody— here is that Truth : The day that I discovered I was Free , was the same day I discovered I wanted to use my “ freedom” to become a Slave....
“Love God and live as you please”........If you have to have that explained to you, you do not understand Christianity.....You are not Lost.....you are just in diapers....Nobody ever had to explain it to me.....It can’t “ BE” explained. You have to live it.I thank my God — He allowed me to.I wish the same for all others.
The Greatest Commandment , “ Love God with all of your heart , with all of your soul and with all of your mind “. is the “ Greatest” Commandment for a REASON! Love for God is the Engine that drives everything worthwhile in Christianity .Once again, you got to Live it to understand it.....

Okay, good. In context we see that the freedom Christians have is freedom from sin. So why does the church say the believer's freedom is the freedom to sin? That's literally the opposite of what Jesus taught in John 8:30-36.Freedom to not have to answer silly questions

The Freedom to do whatever I want and not ever having to worry about being damned for it...the second it dawned on me that I could do whatever I “ wanted” to do , was the EXACT same second I didn’t “ Want” to do the things that might have gone against the Will of God for my Life.....imagine that craziness ! Actually obeying God , not because I “ had” to or risk the fires of hell, but obeying God in a NEW Way! Obeying out Of a Love for Him.....obeying Him because I “ Wanted” to........you should try it some time.....I suspect you are not able to ....you should pray that God give you understanding in these matters.... the Key to all of this is to do as God Commanded us in Hebrews 3.....REST in Paul’s Gospel—- the one given to him by Jesus.....you can find it and hopefully prove you “Believe” it by Resting in it....it alone.......1Cor 15:1-4...... Zooooommmmm.......Right Over your head.Those with “ eyes to see” know what I am talking about......some things cant be taught .....they must be “ Spiritually Discerned “ and some just don’t have that Spirit..... My Posts are not intended for your type, but you “ do” make an excellent Springboard for any Newbies out there “ with ears to hear”......If a person truly Loves God—— everything desired by Him will follow.....is that so hard for you to figure out?
If you “ Love God” you will not “ DO” those things ! That is the POINT! Do you want me to paint you a picture? Pray to God for some Spiritual Discernment! God gave you a brain — he expects you to use it ! It’s Christianity 101—NOT Rocket Science ! Geesh!

For one I think you have a very brash, judgmental, and unloving, and condescending manner about you. And please don't make excuses for it. Just accept the rebuke and realize that love for God IS love for others. You love God by loving others.

That's not the part that you have wrong. It's your assertion that freedom in Christ means you are free to sin. Don't be deceived. Your freedom in Christ is the freedom to NOT sin. You have not been given the freedom to commit adultery, or steal, or lust, or be greedy, etc. That is the lie of the corrupt apostate church of the end times.

What you're doing is leading newbies astray by teaching that grace is the freedom to sin.....

If this doesn't describe what you're doing I don't know what does.
Not just from Sin Freedom From everything, Freedom To live, I haven't seen anyone encourage Sin, But the message is Jesus Died for your sins...So the point would be if you are still dealing with sins What is the solution, The Cross, The Blood, The gospel The greatest expression Of Love I have Ever Seen

The Word became flesh and we beheld his glory, full of grace and truth. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. We love him because he first loved us....Ok ill calm down a bit I was just getting started....But there is a few of the scriptures I thought of
I think the biggest motivating Factor In Obedience Is Love, Not following a set of rules, But admiration for a Person, When you realize Jesus Paid it all the only option left is to be appreciative, Unless you reject it and want to do it your own way...Then what do you do with your sins

I received this revelation back in the late '80s. It is indeed the key to being able to live for God. But that revelation did not include some kind of revelation that I am free to murder, steal, commit adultery, etc. The person who thinks God's grace is their license to sin is not born again.

That is absolutely true. But that truth hardly means freedom in Christ means you have the freedom to sin. That is a teaching that the corrupt church in the world today uses to rationalize willful, unrepentant sin, not knowing that willful unrepentant sin is the sign of the unbeliever who does not have the love of God in them. But the church says that's the sign that they do have the love of God in them, because they aren't trying to save themselves by their works. Go figure.

That it would vacate my Peace long precedes any fear of Hell. With conviction, I wouldn't be in that state very long, but it would still be gross in the short term.
And it is driven by "Love YHVH, your God, with all of your mind, strength, heart & soul," but has become reflexive, instead of mechanical.
I am free to smear poop on myself, too, but I am too repulsed by the idea to ever give it any real consideration.
A foolish Believer is free to Sin...of course, he “ shouldn’t” sin, but we do battle against three very strong enemies that are always trying to Entice us into Sinning ....those mighty enemies that lure us with “ the Pleasures Of sin” ( yes, the Bible admits that “ there is pleasure in Sin”.... the Devil knows that....if sin were not “pleasurable”, it would not be a problem— would it? ) are the World, the Flesh and the Devil.Even the Born Again, fully Saved Children Of God can succumb to the wiles of Satan .There are times when even the most mature Believers can be weak or foolish or both. Sin loses it’s appeal for a Believer......more and more as God does His Work on the “ inside of the cup” to “ Transform us into the Image of His Son ......some struggle more than others and it takes longer, and during that life- long struggle we are covered by Grace....
Yes, indeed.....I am Free to Sin .... I am also free to give myself electrical shocks by sticking my hand in a toaster ..... but who “ wants” to ? It would be painful for me—— Just Like Sinning has become for me .I can Promise you this ——before I BELIEVED and put my Faith in the Gospel and it ALONE for my Salvation , I could do Sinful things that would Amaze you and I did not bat an eye and I slept like a baby.....these days, I can’t even step on a worm without having pangs Of guilt.....lol.....that is an exaggeration , of course, but I hope you get my point...
I have the Freedom to Sin —- God has the Freedom to “ take me to the Woodshed “ and blister my rear-end when I do......All Believers in the Gospel make it to Heaven—- that is the Promise Of God —- how many blisters you have on your behind when you stand before Him will be determined by how you used or ABUSED the Freedom God granted you in Christ.....we have the Freedom to be Wise or to be Foolish.....could I recommend being “wise” ? .....I have been to that “ Woodshed” several times in my Walk Of Faith and have learned the hard way that God don’t play no games there..... We all know God has our weaknesses covered. That's not abusing the grace of God. That's what the grace of God is for. But you have been saying over and over that we have the freedom to willfully and purposely sin because grace has that covered too. That is the issue. That is the point you keep evading. You abuse the grace of God to your own eternal destruction when you refuse God's grace and sin willingly. The willful sinner has rejected the grace of God. He does not have the grace of God to cover his sinning. There is no sacrifice available for willfully refusing the grace of God.
“Poop” is a bad word . You had better repent . Fast. A sudden heart-Attack could be lurking just around the corner and you would wake up in Hell......” Lucky Repentance” is THE Key to getting saved and staying saved———- NOT!

This is incredibly stupid. You should address the actual argument being leveled against you. Don't talk about the misguided doctrine of an equally corrupt church that no one is defending.
Willfully sinning is the sign of the unbeliever. They are the one's who are 'free' to indulge the flesh. They are the ones who are free from the control of righteousness.
Romans 6:20
20When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.
