They turned away from the True Faith because their consciences are dead. Meaning, they never Truly believed.

1 Timothy 4:2 NLT - "These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead."

Mark 4:16-17 NLT - "The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. 17 But since they don't have deep roots, they don't last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God's word."

It’s strange hearing Jesus call out too the Lord even before He is born.

David was inspired by the Holy Spirit.
How is it David had the Spirit if it hadn't been given yet?
I believe God chose those "elect" who followed him in the OT to have his spirit.
Like the Prophets and the Father's in days of old.
In the NT God is pouring his spirit out on any and all who will hear, rather than just a select few who were called.
Many are called but few are chosen.
You are chosen when you answer the call.
By grace, through faith, in the one he sent to give knowledge to who He is.

Absolutely. How else could a human, who's Father is the Devil, lead an entire Nation? Impossible. This is why the Leaders, Judges, Holy Kings and Holy Prophets were all lifted of the Curse of the Sinful Nature, as well as possessed the Gift of the Holy Spirit. The only element of Faith missing was that they all had to wait for the Redemptive work of Christ to make them Whole and Complete.

Romans 3:25-26 NLT - "For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus."
