And also, the "Lucky" aspect of repentance is most assuredly spoken of in 1 Corinthians 15:37, Matthew 13:30...

These verses have absolutely NOTHING to do with what I am calling “Lucky Repentance”

Two Born-Again men of Faith that Trust in Jesus for their Salvation , Two mature Believers that have accomplished many things that pleased God, because their Faith was so strong that God worked His Goodness through them . They are working beneath a table ......a sonic boom startles both of them! ....they both jump up too fast and sharply bump their heads .....they both scream out an obscenity ....they then both die of sudden heart- attacks ! One guy had the good fortune to think to pray real fast and ask for forgiveness for his recent cursing.....the other man did not have the “ Luck” to remember to do this.....he died with just this One Sin On his record ( he was caught up On all of his other sins—- he Repented of all of them a little earlier that day)
As a result of all of this , the first guy who luckily Repented before he died goes to Heaven. The other Guy ? He went to Hell because he had not Repented Of ALL of his sins before he died......THIS is “ Lucky Repentance”—— something the first guy did which got him saved. This is what you believe.....you have said as much.....please defend this position . As it stands, it is an “ Accursed” Perversion Of Paul’s Gospel Of Grace.....”Accursed” means God Damned.....explain to me how your “ take” on last-second, Lucky repentance is NOT a False Gospel Damned by God.....

Ephesians 2:8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

So we can break down this passage into 10 points.

1- by grace we are saved
2- it is through faith
3- not from ourselves
4- its a gift from God
5- not by works
6- no one can boast- about their works regarding salvation
7- those saved are Gods workmanship
8- created in Christ
9- to do good works- post salvation
10- God prepared those works in advance for us- to do those works as a result of being saved.

hope this helps !!!

Since the one who is born of God cannot sin (1 John 3:9), this scenario is merely hypothetical...

Think again, Chester ......if a Christian can’t sin, why does John say earlier that he does not desire that anybody sin, but if we do “ We have an ADVOCATE for sin”....
Why does God have a system of Chastising His Children If there is no Sinning in the lives of Believers ?
These things are all beside the point .....you know full- well the scenario I set up , and you know what to comment on.....quit evading the question.....Answer it —- or are you afraid to ?

It says "if", not "when" in 1 John 2:1...

And God's children may be defined as those who are predestined...chastening in their lives will produce the peaceable fruit of righteousness...freedom from (John 8:31-36) and victory over (1 Corinthians 15:57) sin.

And did you also know that everyone who was ever born is said to be "the offspring of God" in Acts of the Apostles 17:28-29?

So then, the children of God are not only those who have been born of God.

But those who are born of God are His children in a specific sense....in that we are begotten of God (spiritually) and adopted into His family.

2 Timothy 1:9
He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not because of our own works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time eternal.

Titus 3:4-7
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-10

Galatians 3:1-3
You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? 2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

Abstention from sinning is not the catalyst for our salvation but it is the sure result of being born again (1 John 3:9).

We also do not maintain our salvation by not sinning; however our salvation maintains our not sinning.

Until you are “ Born Again” , you are God's “Creation” But not His Child ......You are an “ Enemy” Of God , as a matter of fact.....you are Hell-Bound if you are not a “ New Creation” , because if you do not have His Holy Spirit Inside Of you —— you are “NONE of His”......If you think everything is “ goody-goody” between God and man before one Repents ( turns to God as a Lost Sinner who puts their TOTAL Faith in Jesus to Save them ) you are mistaken....
You are STILL evading my question about “ Lucky Repentance”......why? Do you think I am going to drop it? If so—- think again, Chester .....lol....

I am certainly no "Chester"....although maybe that is you...

You need to look at the verses in question (Acts of the Apostles 17:28-29)....they say that everyone, whether regenerated or not, is the offspring of the Lord...

So, for the purposes of understanding Hebrews 12:5-11, it applies to everyone...and once the peaceable fruit of righteousness has been produced in a man, at that point he becomes "born of God"...as defined by 1 John 3:9.

You are going to have to repeat your question about "Lucky Repentance" because I don't know what it is.

If you reiterate it I'll be glad to try to give you my best answer.

I think that my answer is that if the person is truly born again, they bear the fruit of the Spirit (temperance) and therefore they are not going to curse in that situation.

When a person gets born again, they repent of living a lifestyle of sinning...and the Lord changes them from the inside out...He regenerates and renews them on the inside by the power of the Holy Ghost (Titus 3:5).

With the sinless perfectionist they go in and out of salvation when they sin for if they died in a sin they are hell-bound.

For example if I were on a dark country road and happened to look down for a moment and look up and see I'm a millisecond away from a head on collision and my last words were Oh _ _ _ _ and said the s word I'm going to hell for saying that word and not repenting.

BTW- I'm not condoning that response in that scenario but this is how they think.

hope this helps !!!

Romans 12
[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 Thessalonians 4
[7] For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
[8] He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

With the sinless perfectionist

Again, "sinless perfection" is a misnomer that is applied to the doctrine of entire sanctification in order to create a straw man that is easily toppled by 1 John 1:8.

When in all reality, those who believe in entire sanctification do not believe that sin has been eradicated from them (i.e. they do not say that they have no sin); but rather that it has been rendered dead within them (Romans 6:6, Galatians 5:24, Romans 7:8) so that it no longer has any say over their behaviour (Romans 6:14).

Otherwise, 1 John 1:8, if it teaches "If we say that we do no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us" is in contradiction to such verses as 1 John 3:9; and 1 John 3:6 w/ 1 John 2:17; and a plethora of other verses (such as Jude 1:24, 2 Peter 1:10, and 1 John 2:10).

With the sinless perfectionist they go in and out of salvation when they sin for if they died in a sin they are hell-bound.

First you must consider that all scripture is inspired of the Lord and is profitable for doctrine, etc. (2 Timothy 3:16).

Then you must take a wild look at the following scripture.

Eze 33:12, Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
Eze 33:13, When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Eze 33:18, When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
