Tell me, can you live in sin and remain saved?

As understand it, OSAS can do just that. However, non OSAS cannot live in willful sin as a lifestyle without eventually losing salvation, and that is the difference beetween the two.

You sin every hour of every day. Me too.if not in deed, in thought. Most of these sins are Of the “ Willful” variety ...... you know what you are about to do is a sin and you do it anyway.Jesus either “ died for your sins” or He did not.Paul’s Gospel said that he did. I Believe that to the point that I Rest in it .That's why I am Saved Forever—- no matter what. Knowing “ that Truth”, and living out that Life Of Pure Grace, purchased by Jesus Work Of The Cross is what Saves me and keeps me Saved .....
Plus, I got this Promise from the One that can NEVER break a Promise — Jesus Christ. He said that If I put my Trust in Him , I was ALREADY Saved and could NEVER come under Condemnation” If all of these things are True I can do whatever I “ want to do”, right? Notice what I DON’T SAY.....I am NOT saying that I can do what I want to do ( sin perhaps) and “ GET AWAY WITH IT”—— Being a Child Of God means That God will Chastise me when I sin. He does that because He loves me .The only reason that I can do what I “ want” is because God, at the same instant He gave me this “ Freedom” , He also gave me a NEW HEART—- “ My Wants” now Line-up with “ HIS WANTS” ....As James said, there will be many times that I will “Stumble” ......when that happens , Grace kicks in and Covers it.....that “ Grace “ has got me covered until I Finish the Race that God has given me to Run.....
Yes....I REST in the Gospel as God has ordered me to do. I can NEVER go to Hell because Jesus Left no sins behind that could ever damn me. Knowing that gives me a desire NOT for “ a License to Sin” , but a a desire for a “ License to Serve”. Christianity is Wild. I am a man who has been granted the Freedom to live in a world of Grace where “ all things are Lawful” yet all my New Heart wants to do is take my “Freedom” and use it to become a Willing Slave .Crazy ain't it ? It only happens when it actually “HITS YOU” —— Jesus “ DID” die for my Sins ......Has That TRUTH really “ HIT” you yet? I hope so .....you Eternity depends upon it....Quit “ Trying” to be Saved. Start “Trusting” to be Saved. God bless us all in the understanding of these things....

I do know my Bible and know that Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:17 that those who speak in tongues give thanks well enough even if the tongues is not interpreted. Perhaps you missed that small phrase which totally contradicts your view. You really should make sure of your Biblical facts before accusing others of having confused teaching, to ensure you don't end up with egg on your face.

I missed nothing and I will stand by what I said .....If I ever get “ egg on my first “ it won’t be the first time or the last...how about you?

“Even if your prayer of thanks to God is quite good, other people are not helped at all.”

Although “ good” it falls short......” falling short” is the very definition of Sin.....a small one, to be sure, in this instance.....but it was big enough for Paul to point it out.....seems that there is a bit of “ self-indulgent” behavior involved .....
Paul “ spoke in tongues more than anyone”...... He did the wise thing—- he did it when he was alone...

Yes he did die for our sins. No one says those sins cannot be for forgiven, if one repents, but the lack of repentance poses a real problem with ones salvation.

There are sins of temptation, as in they passed a joint around and you took a toke. You didnt plan on being in such a situation, but it happened, you repent of the act, and all is well.

Then there is willfull sin, that would be sin that is planned, as in we plan to go to a party and get stoned. Or the practice of sining or ongoing sin. Even that can be forgiven if we repent and stop planning such things, but if we continue down that road, that presents a problem. The prodigal son is a good example of the latter of the two types of sinning. He planned, and lived a life of ongoing sin, then finally repented.

Paul “ spoke in tongues more than anyone”...... He did the wise thing—- he did it when he was alone...
But you said that speaking in tongues without interpretation is sin. That is just nonsense. Paul never accused the Corinthians of being "self indulgent". His description of the Corinthian church in 1 Corinthians 1 is that it is an excellent church:
" 4 I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 5 For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— 6 God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. 7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 8 He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."

So Paul does not see the Corinthian church as a problem church at all, and his instructions for it are there to make it better. If anyone thinks that because of the issues it had to deal with, if we look at any church we will see exactly the same issues in any church you can name anywhere in our western society.

He certainly does not accuse the Corinthians of getting out of control with their use of tongues. What seems to me is that they enjoyed giving thanks to God in tongues so much that they forgot that they needed to do some speaking in the standard language that everyone understood.

Of course, Paul's instructions to the Corinthians is meant for every other church, and that is where he directs his letter to include every Christian believer everywhere, as well as the Corinthians themselves.

Most of the nonsense spouted about tongues mainly comes from those who have never received the gift, and/or have their own personal prejudice against it because it doesn't fit in with their form of religiosity. Perhaps these people have a form of godliness but deny the power of it. What this means that many go through the religious motions, but have no real knowledge of the God behind it all.

I suggest that you do a close, prayerful study of 1 Corinthians 14 with an attitude of openness to what the Spirit may reveal to you from the whole chapter, instead of quoting parrot fashion what the cherry picking random verses that ones Cessationist mentors might brainwash people with.

Did you know that it is a SIN to speak in Tongues if there is not somebody there to explain
what is being said? You really ought to KNOW your Bible before you pretend to be a Bible Teacher.....”show yourself to be a good student of the Word, so you don’t have to stand ashamed”..... you and your Confused Teaching? You should be ashamed.....and may God grant you the “ Lucky Repentance” That is the “ End -All and Be - All “ of your False, Perverted Gospel Of Works....

Tongues is a language of prayer and it is not a sin to pray using that gift in public. If there is no interpreter, then in a public church setting, you are to cease speaking in them while there is no interpreter. But how is one to know whether there is an interpreter or not unless one steps out in faith and speaks in their prayer language? It is only after you have spoken in tongues that it will become evident whether or not there is an interpreter. And an interpreter may not only be someone with a spiritual gift; it may be someone who knows the language that you are speaking in (as in Acts of the Apostles 2). That can be anyone who is present when you are praying in your prayer language in a public setting.

The Bible is clear:

1Co 14:39, Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
1Co 14:40, Let all things be done decently and in order.

Therefore the protocol for having an interpreter (in the sense of one who has the spiritual gift of interpretation) is for a church setting.

Also I know that I personally am never alone (my wife is almost always with me and when she isn't we are in church).

Do you suggest that I never pray in tongues? because she doesn't have the gift of interpretation; and we are often alone together.

If I were to be legalistic about what you are preaching, I would have to go into the bathroom in order to pray in my prayer language so that she cannot hear me.

I believe therefore that praying in tongues in a public setting is not a sin; for if I can pray in the presence of my wife who doesn't have the gift of interpretation; how is it that I must not pray in the presence of an unbeliever? (for tongues are a sign to unbelievers);

Those who are personally convicted by those who pray in tongues love the idea that we are forbidden to do so. But, even as I have shown in a scripture above, this is not what the Bible teaches.

You sin every hour of every day.

Speak for yourself...the one who abideth in Christ "sinneth not" (1 John 3:6) for ever (1 John 2:17).

Plus, I got this Promise from the One that can NEVER break a Promise — Jesus Christ. He said that If I put my Trust in Him , I was ALREADY Saved and could NEVER come under Condemnation”

Ah, but what does it mean to trust in Him?

Consider a comparison of 1 John 5:1 w/ 1 John 3:9...understanding that the Holy Ghost teaches us when we compare scripture with scripture (1 Corinthians 2:13 (kjv)).

As James said, there will be many times that I will “Stumble” ......when that happens , Grace kicks in and Covers it.....that “ Grace “ has got me covered until I Finish the Race that God has given me to Run...

Nevertheless, those besetting sins hinder your run and may even have the capacity to stop you from finishing the race, if you do not cast them off from you as the Bible says to do.

I hope I missed nothing of value in your post....I no longer read them half of the time....you are too far gone.....perhaps send me a private message when you finally decide to explain your Perverted Gospel Of “ Lucky Repentance “——- “your” Spiritual Anchor Of Salvation that makes a mockery of “God’s” Anchor”—— Paul’ Gospel Of Grace Plus Nothing ..... Soul Saved once and forever, we agree.

Sinning- we disagree.
We Probably disagree on WHAT SIN IS.

Glory to God,
Taken

To sin means “ to fall short”......
We ALL fall short....that’s why we need Grace....God gives it freely to all of those who put their TOTAL FAITH in His Son.....

The term "come short" in Romans 3:23 is in the present passive indicative...which indicates that we currently fall short only when we are passive and not active in pursuing the Lord and His holiness.

This should be clear when we compare Romans 3:23 to Hebrews 10:14 (kjv)...

Heb 10:14, For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

To sin means “ to fall short”......
Sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4) and whatsoever is not of faith (Romans 14:23) and knowing the good you ought to do and not doing it (James 4:17).

And actually, we are no longer bound by the letter of the law but are obedient to the spirit of what is written in the law (Romans 7:6).

And therefore, sin is re-defined as walking according to the flesh...

For if we walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, the righteousness of the law will be fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4).

It would appear that you think that it is the sound gospel of Jesus Christ to discourage men from repenting of their sins...

This is what is truly perverted impaho.
Repentance is a one-time act which results in the sinner being born again of the Spirit of God. It is the change of direction from rebelling away from Christ, to running to Christ for grace and salvation. The notion of repentance for very infraction of the law is the same as getting born again every time one commits a fault against the law.

For the born again believer, infractions against the law is dealt with by confession and cleansing and forsaking the works of the flesh as is indicated in 1 John 1:19 and Galatians 5.

Yes, @Paul Christensen,

The one who has repented and is born again has ceased from walking in the direction of sin, death, and hell; and is now walking in the direction of righteousness, life, and heaven.

So if a born again believer blows it, all that is necessary is that he agree with the Lord that his behaviour was a sin. Since he is already walking in the direction of righteousness, life, and heaven, there is no need to turn around....the believer is already walking in the right direction. What confessing his sin will do is that it will tell the believer that he must not continue to practice that sin because he is no longer walking in the direction of sin. If sin is confessed, but the person still continues to commit it, I believe they should question as to whether they are still walking in the right direction (2 Corinthians 13:5); they may indeed need to repent.

I agree. A believer has to show the fruits of repentance. These are the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self control).

If a professing believer is not showing a radical change from the works of the flesh to the fruit of the Spirit, then one has to have questions about the sincerity of his profession.

I disagree .....the only thing a Believer HAS to do is “Believe”.....Fruit bearing “ should” come, and I believe that it “ will”......It doesn’t “ HAVE” to, and besides, most of the Fruits are internal events, that cant even be seen even by the “ best” self-Righteous Fruit Inspector.....

Thanks for your reply.
I get your point, but somewhat disagree.

Rom 3:
[23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

My viewpoint is:
Sin: is unequivably a man Against God.

Sure men fall short of Gods glory.
Some men: always
Some men: on and off

Gods Glory: is Gods Light.
Man's falling short of Gods Glory:
is: Gods Glory NOT Reflecting upon a man.

Gods Glory- Sin- two different things.

God Bless,
Taken
