Thanks for sharing this. Story of my life. :(
I understand, sister ...hugs. I almost tagged you in that post...

@Prayer Warrior Sometimes God calls us to difficult journeys. We can see this example in scripture when Jesus instructed His disciples to get into a boat and told them to go to the other side. Do you think He didn't know that they would encounter a fierce storm along that journey? Of course, He knew. But He knew that the storm was necessary ....specifically, for Peter, who learned during that storm how to walk by faith rather than sight (eyes on Jesus, despite the storm).

Later, we see Peter in an encounter with the lame man at the gate, imparting what He received in that storm...."Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I unto thee ...in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." That is exactly what Peter learned in the storm.

So remember (speaking to myself, too) ....we can't always judge a journey by its storms. Many may look on and mock, shake their heads, and say that surely you didn't hear Him correctly because if you did all those bad things wouldn't have happened. But He knows and sees the end from the beginning. All we need to do is hear His voice and obey. ❤

Thanks for the encouragement!

My girls and I were just talking about Peter’s choice to look at Jesus or look at the huge waves that had been swamping the boat. Where he fixed his attention made all the difference.

Hugs to you too! Your ability to encourage others is born out of seeing God work in and beyond your impossible circumstances.

God bless you, friend!

There are so many things we can learn from that account in the Bible. They heard His voice and obeyed. Then the storm came. Some hardened their hearts...suppose they couldn't grasp why He sent them on a journey that nearly took their lives.

Have you ever heard His voice, stepped out in obedience, encountered a storm and wondered where He was? See, Jesus wasn't even in the boat with them when the storm came. He hadn't abandoned them, but I'm sure it felt like He had. When He came walking on the stormy waves, they
didn't even recognize Him in the storm. We all do that sometimes, I think. We become so battle worn, we lose sight. But they still made it to the other side ....just like He said.

God bless you, too, @Prayer Warrior ...you've encouraged me as well.

@TLHKAJ Reminds me of Psalm 46.10: "Be still, and know that I am God".

@TLHKAJ You mentioned the raging of the storm which the Lord Jesus stilled. Psalm 46 also mentions the raging of the storm, and the contrasting peace that the Lord brings.
Okay ...so the storm being still[ed] as opposed to us being still. This can be symbolic to the storm within us being stilled.

Did you ever consider that Jesus didn't immediately remedy the outward situation (calm the storm) until Peter called out to Jesus to save him ...being rescued from being overtaken by the waves, yet the storm was still raging until they both walked back into the boat.

Peter was at first a bit afraid and doubtful... "Lord, if it be You...." ...so many things we can learn from this. I really needed to be brought back to this today. We have to come to a place of faith, trust and surrender ....even while the storm is still raging. The rest is up to Him.

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

For several years in the period following my baptism with the Holy Ghost in 1976, I had a recurring dream many times in which I was lighter than a feather and floating/flying through the air but always under control. When I, having been a new convert reading the Bible for the first time in my life, finally began understand it the dreams stopped.
